Chapter 7 - Abnormal

(A/N: Hey guys,

Just wanted to let you know that whenever I mention 'adult slimes', I am referring to normal slimes...

Adult slimes/slimes come after the baby slime on the typical evolution path...)

[You have killed monsters above your level.

Level 6 - 10.

You are now able to evolve! Would you like to evolve?]

It seems that my stats are pretty good... Especially spirit.

I don't really no what spirit represents though.

I glanced at the roof of the cavern, before sighing. A desire to see the surface was rekindled in my heart. I wanted to see it...

I wanted to see the different races of this world. I still did not have any memories of 'before' but I knew for certain that this world was different...

It was out there that I could find the answers that I was looking for.

I want to go out there...

I sighed again.

First things first though... I had to find out what was going on here.

As for evolution?

No... I had to wait. Call it intuition, but something told me that if I evolved right now I would be missing out on something...

I slowly began to look at the scene, inside of the cavern. Nothing seemed to have changed, except for the fact that there were fewer baby slimes...

I would have thought that the baby slimes would be alerted...

Whatever... it's easier for me now.

Perhaps it was due to my new skill [All seeing eyes], but my eyesight had drastically improved. When I observed the situation more closely, I understood that there were some key differences between baby slimes.

They were split into what seemed to be 2 divisions.

The 'first division' seemed to be in charge of patrolling. It was mainly made up of baby slimes with the skill [iron skin].

The second division, were made up of slimes with a slightly more purple tinge. They were the slimes in charge of feeding the jellies...

They had the skill [Third arm] and [Living storage].

[Living storage] is probably the skill that allows them to store insects inside of them and then release them to feed those jellies.

I don't know what [Third arm] is though.

I mean slimes don't even have normal arms... right?

A sudden noise interrupted my thoughts.

[SCREEEEEEECH!] A loud noise bellowed from inside of the tunnel leading to the exit. The ground shook with great force.

What is that?

Numerous shadows appeared from inside the dimly lit corridor before converging at the entrance.

I breathed in deeply. In my sight 3 huge slimes gathered. They were true monsters. The slime that I had fought before had barely been a meter tall. These slimes were approaching 2 meters...

A fire lit in my non existent eyes. I was burning with the desire to fight these slimes!

But it wasn't time yet. Fighting them might alert something. I had a feeling that these creatures were not the strongest beings in this plot...

Slowly the purple tinged slimes as if being awoken from a deep sleep, slowly slid into the mass of jellies.

Buckets appeared on what I assumed to be the heads of the baby slimes. They slowly walked around the jellies.

Slowly pillars of goo appeared from the sides of the slime, before the pillar diverged into 5 smaller pillars.

A hand!

What the hell? Baby slimes that actually grew hands?

The slimes then used these hands to pick up the larger jellies before putting them into the bucket that they seemed to always carry. It was like looking at shoppers closely picking the best fruit...

They then carried these giant buckets towards the huge slimes, before putting the buckets in front of them. Soon, almost thirty buckets were filled with jellies.

The huge slimes then took the buckets, with their [Third arm] and put them onto his head, before carrying them into the tunnel.

I don't think that fighting any monsters here will get me much more levels...

But. These baby slimes have really gotten on my nerves...

Sacrificing their fellow kin like that?

They deserve to die!

I activated [form] and charged at them.

***

I was slowly walking down the tunnel that I had seen the slimes walking through.

Ahhhh! That meal was so delicious!

Is this what revenge tastes like?

Probably.

I continued to walk down the tunnel in my human [form], noticing the smooth rock walls and the smooth floor.

This is definitely man made...

I felt awfully comfortable in human [form] for some reason. It felt like second nature to me. As for my name? That meeting with that lady made me remember some things.

When I mean 'things' I mean my name.

Just my name.

Amadeus Rye.

It has quite a nice ring to it...

Slowly the tunnel got larger and larger, until it eventually opened up, into another large cavern.

I gasped at the sight before me.

The walls of the cavern were filled with giant glowing crystals, which gave the cavern a very 'celestial' feeling.

But that wasn't the most surprising thing about this cavern. Instead it was the huge throne, situated on the furthest wall of the cavern that surprised him. On it sat a huge slime, nearing the 3.5 meter mark. He was nearly 4 meters in diameter as well.

What the fuck... How much does a slime need to eat to get that big.

To the side of the huge slime was a gigantic block of ice, in which a faint silhouette was visible... I could feel something dark was resting inside...

Two rows of gigantic 2 meter slimes stood side side by side, each row facing each other, as if they were knights protecting their king.

Damn... that's a lot of foo... I mean slimes...

The three slimes that I had seen walking into the tunnel earlier were slowly hoping towards the huge slime on the throne with buckets full of jellies on their heads.

[SCREEEEEEECH!] The slimes that were standing in two rows began to scream in union.

The slimes in the center screamed back. It was like a welcoming ritual...

Weird.

The three slimes stopped in front of the 'King' and placed the jellies in front of him, before hopping away and joining the two rows of slimes.

The king then changed his appearance to resemble that of a human man.

This surprised me. He obviously had a higher level [form] than me. I looked at his perfectly sculpted face, devoid of any wrinkles, but still having the basic nose, mouth, eyes and ear. If there was a difference it would probably be the fact that he was blue...

And that he had no eyeballs.

Not to mention that he is close to four meters tall.

So maybe a huge eyeless giant would be a better way of describing him...

Despite his somewhat weird looks, I was surprised. He was the first monster that I had seen with the capabilities to transform like me. He also gave off this weird 'pressure' that seemed to pressurize my soul...

He walked up to the buckets of jellies and used his hands to tip them over himself, absorbing the jellies into him...

I could see that he grew a few centimeters...

My stats had leveled up quite a bit after my massacre of those evil baby slimes...

They even exceeded those of normal adult slimes.

But I still felt the pressure... It was as if there was some power forcing me to kneel before that slime...

What is this? I had never felt such a feeling before. I was curious? What could this weird slime possibly be? Another reincarnator?

[All seeing eyes!]

As soon as I activated my skill something happened. To be more accurate 'nothing happened'. it was the first time that my [All seeing eyes] had worked...

And worse... He detected me!

He looked at me. His bare eyes looked at me, as if they could see everything about me.

And then he surprised me once again.

'Looks like we have a visitor...'

He spoke...
