I need to talk to you guys for a sec."
I said to both David and Amanda the moment I got near them. And while doing so, I blatantly ignored the provoking stare of Beverly.
Did I offend her or something? Her stare is pissing me off.
"Uh, okay. What is it?"
David said a little puzzled. Was he expecting me to say it here?
Yep, judging from the expression on his face he's definitely expecting me to say it here.
Raising my left hand, I point back at the boy's locker room area and said to him.
"Let's go someplace a bit quieter. It's a bit personal. I don't want other people hearing this."
Other than asking if they want to break away from the others and leave the school with me, I'm also going to tell them about how there's only one bus working instead of two.
This is confidential information. Eliminating the people already at the buses, only Big Sis and I know about this.
So, if I carelessly say this in front of people I basically consider strangers, who knows what'll they'll do. In the heat of the moment, they might broadcast this everybody.
Therefore, other than telling this to people I can trust, which is David and Sara. If it's them I'm sure they won't tell anyone. They can rea~lly keep secrets after all.
"Can Sara come to?"
David awkwardly asked.
"I didn't say 'you guys' for no reason. I don't know these people here so why should I talk about something personal with them?...No offense guys."
Looking at David's football friends, I said. Thankfully, they only waved their hands and passively said 'none taken.'
Quite the understanding bunch aren't they?
But I couldn't say the same went for Beverly though. Although, she didn't say anything, I saw her gaze towards me get a whole lot fiercer.
She's getting on my last nerves here!
"Let's go."
After I said this, I immediately turned around and walked back towards the boy's locker room.
"Deep breaths. Deep breaths."
Is what I told myself as I walked.
She's lucky I've become a peace loving boy who wouldn't hurt a fly, otherwise, I would've gladly accepted to her provocation with open arms.
When I got to the boy's locker room or more specifically, Mr. Cole's office, I waited for David and Sara. They arrived a few seconds later.
"So what is it yo-"
"Let's go in here first."
Before David could finish his sentence, I cut him off midway and entered Mr. Cole's office.
Although they were puzzled, they didn't object and entered the office right after me.
"So what is it you need to talk about?"
"Is everything alright?"
David and Sara asked simultaneously.
Sitting on the front edge of Mr. Cole's desk, I look at both their faces and simple said.
"When we get to the buses, I plan on breaking away from the group to travel on my own. I brought you over here to see if you guys want to come with me."
"..."
"..."
A few seconds of heavy silence floated in the air. The only thing we did was stare at each other. One person was completely calm while the other two were completely speechless.
"Are you crazy!"
Sara furiously squeezed out after a while. She was angry. Really angry.
"But It's more safe this way."
"Safer? How? Those are flesh eating monsters out there! They eat people!"
"Well, firs-"
Before I could even finish speaking my sentence, I was quickly interrupted by an angry Sara.
"Not to mention, once you get bit by one of those things you turn into one! What're you gonna do if you got bit? Huh?"
As she said this, Sara vigorously took a few steps forward. She was so close to me that I could clearly see her cyan blue eyes and smell her aroma.
Ooh, the top of her uniform blouse is unbuttoned! If she learns in a little closer I might be able to see...wait, that's not what I meant! I need help! She's too close!
I'mma call a temporary truce!
Landing my eyes on David, I frantically sent him the Morse code of 'help me out' with my eyes.
'Okay.'
Understanding my intent, David said.
"Sara, hear him out. He wouldn't have said it if he didn't have a reason behind it."
"Exactly. So please back up. I need space."
"Ah! My bad!"
Just now realizing how close she was to me, Sara quickly backs away with a slight blush, embarrassed at how she acted.
Phew, that was close. If she persisted like that I might've had a nosebleed.
"Kuhum, now as I was trying to say earlier, there's a couple of reasons why I think breaking away from them is safer."
I then start to go over a few of the disadvantages of traveling with this large group.
Such as its lack of maneuverability due to the injured students, its lack of safety and security because of our weapons.
"But there's more people."
"If you don't believe me ask David over there. He knows it's true."
Seeing her still in hesitation, I decided to pass the mission of persuading her to her boyfriend, David.
... Saying that still leaves me a bit uncomfortable.
