Aos having recieved her instructions prepared for what she was about to undertake. She recalled the memories from inside her tent. How her parents argued over even keeping her due to her eyes. Aos remembered the joyful look on the Patriarchs face. The clansmen who lived and died together as one family. She remembered how her mother had left her with the old man. Although Aos still felt somewhat abandoned, she had come to understand that it was in Aos' best interest to learn to control her new found heritage. For her family and herself, she would train. She would train until she couldn't move. She would train long into the night and past the day.
Aos began slowly siphoning energy from the tree the old man had left her at. She would siphon energy until her mind forced her to relent. The very moment Aos could muster her strength to siphon more energy she would resume.
Aos alone in trained constantly. Time and time again she would resume siphoning until she could no longer focus. Hours flew by as she trained long past her breaking point. With every thought of stopping she thought back to her family and clan and she remembered that she would not disappoint her mother. These thoughts reinvigorating her, driving her on in a haze of passion.
Aos trained through the morning, through the evening, until the night. Throughout the entire ordeal she had begun to notice that while before she could only siphon energy for close to 15 seconds before being unable to continue, she now could nearly continue for 16 seconds before her limits were reached again.
Eventually, with the cold night sky overcasting the forest. The old man made his way back to Aos.
The old man had returned with three dead hares tied together by a thick rope like vine. The three hares lifeless hares lacking any blood or damage swang from the old man's grip.
Aos noticing the old man proudly ran towards him and with a gleeful smile. She looked at the old man and the old man quickly noticing Aos' improvement felt beyond impressed. Aos had improved at a rate way beyond what the old man thought possible. He saw Aos' energy and noted that what had taken him one week to improve by a second, it had taken Aos a day.
The old man then, with a smile said, "Let's return to the cave. These three hares will be our celebratory meal for your diligent work."
