Chapter 52 - Uncontrollable Jealousy

Nine jerked back to alertness when she went through the messages stored in her bracelet.

[Deltan abducted by Baron household Beverley. Interrogated Ruben Beverley. Found evidence. Mansion in Night Tide, together with Rose Beverley.]

Her face remained the same, but the air around her grew colder and colder as she read on. Her reading speed was unhurried, but she started emitting a chilling killing intent that broke Nocturne out of his bloodlust.

He drew back cautiously, unlatching his hands from clutching onto Nine as he wondered if he had done something to infuriate her whilst in his haze.

Nine let out a frosty laugh. To think that while she was away, some mentally unstable girl would come and snatch her brother from right under her nose. It truly made her feel like that noble girl hadn't experienced enough in her life. She didn't know who she could and couldn't offend.

It seemed like their little hideaway was in the Night Tide, near the city she had found Nocturne, Raveria.

Without another word, she teleported both of them, bringing Nocturne along with her. After settling Deltan's problem, she would bring them to tour around for a few weeks before going back to Cosmos City. There were less humans there, so it wouldn't be as overwhelming.

She really didn't think that her transformation would take so long. Nocturne's transformation had only taken another three days, but that could have been because he was already essentially a half-Vampire. Her transformation had taken her a good two months of being out of commission, causing Deltan to fall into this state.

Who knew that the one would kidnapped him wouldn't be the royal Vampire, who was most likely still sleeping, but instead a haughty noble that wanted to climb ranks? Fate really liked playing with people.

Nine was greeted with the familiar sight of bustling Vampires. The entire city was built in the style of Vampire Princess Alixia Lacroix's preferred style of gothic architecture, fitting in nicely with her Vampire Castle.

By now, the rage had settled inside her, a cold rage, that made her logic clearer and her course of action was set. She ignored the confused Nocturne behind her, leaving the city with him in tow.

Although Nocturne didn't know what was happening, he was able to make an educated guess. From Nine's expression, it seemed like someone had angered her, so he would dutifully follow along and witness her bullying someone else. Somehow, he felt like she was acting quite cutely, being all angry over something.

Luckily, the interspatial bracelets she had designed and modified before passing to her students, hidden guards and father each contained a strand of her own magic, allowing her to easily track it down. Even though it was now being hidden behind numerous highly powered wards, her students had done a good job at locating the general location Deltan was probably being held.

Their guess was sound and logical, and from what she could feel, Deltan was indeed in the nearby vicinity. He was within an hour's worth of steady transportation distance, which was a fair distance from the city of Ascarium.

But this alone didn't satisfy her. She would have to further modify and improve the bracelets, adding a tracking function that wasn't wholly based on her own magical aura. This way, the rest of her students would be able to find each other as well. It had been negligent of her to overlook this fact, due to her time constraints and stress at that time.

Before long, they were stood in front of a rather grand looking mansion located in the midst of a meadow. It would have looked rather picturesque had it not been for the ominous aura emitted from the house.

Two figures, one white and the other giving off the impression of black, stood casually inside the wards of the residence. The two figures made a stunning contrast but looked like they belonged within a portrait that would have been admired by all far and wide. Whilst alone they would have drawn admiration, together, they looked absolutely stunning. Amazingly, they weren't tripping any alarms or drawing any gazes even though there had been more than one servant who had looked in their direction.

Nearby, one of the servants suppressed a chill. Was it just her or was the temperature colder? She looked up in the sky, noting that it was still high noon, which was the period where the sun shone the harshest, providing the most heat. Briefly puzzled but putting aside the feeling, she continued with her work.

Elin hummed as she continued hanging the clothes on the line, delighting in the beautiful day. Although she didn't know why her Master had abruptly ordered for her to come to this place, she was receiving good money for this, and she sorely needed the money. Her household was poor, and she needed the money to move up in life. If she wanted to attract a decent husband, then she couldn't skimp on her dowry. Since her family wasn't able to help her, then she would have to do it herself.

It was at this moment when her eyes locked onto two gorgeous humans in the distance. Her hands immediately stopped moving as she stared at the figure in the front who was looking at her. She accidentally cut her finger on the clothes line, but she paid no attention to the pain. Elin's heart skipped a beat. She felt like she had instantly been struck with the arrow of love.

Uncontrollably, she walked forward and stood face to face with the divine being in her line of sight. His features were absolutely perfect and regal. She felt like she was looking at a being that had descended from the heavens. She had never seen a more perfect creature in her entire life. Elin suddenly felt like her life hadn't been lived in vain. She had finally met the love of her life at this moment. Status, money. Who cared about any of that? She was willing to die if she managed to get this man.

Nocturne's lips pulled back in a snarl as he looked at the infatuated eyes staring at his sire's face. He wasn't even bothered by the scent of her blood, which somewhat repulsed him. He didn't know if it was because she was staring at Nine like she wanted to drag him into her bed right away, but he felt a strong urge to rip her eyes out of her head. The jealousy he was feeling was almost overpowering.

From the direct way Nine had rejected him, he knew that he shouldn't make his advances too obvious lest Nine send him away forever, but as long as he managed to stay by Nine's side, then he still had a chance, but the way this woman was looking at the person he was in love with nauseated him. Because she was a woman, it automatically meant that she would have a higher chance of having her love returned.

With that thought in his mind, Nocturne couldn't hold back as he darted forward and killed her with a single strike to the neck as the servant blinked her eyes in shock, causing her eyes to close forever more.

Nine's expression didn't change. Even if she didn't say it, the way that woman had looked at her as if she was a piece of meat made her slightly uncomfortable. She knew that it was the residual effects of her charm, but that didn't mean she had to like it.

The two Vampires entered the mansion, not even looking back at the woman who was lying in a pool of slowly cooling blood. For two newborns, they were displaying a stunning amount of control over their hunger.

Nine and Nocturne moved so fast that it was almost instantaneous. The moment they broke in, Nine purposely tripped the alarms to let their prey know that they were here. If she was going to do this, then she was going to kill the chicken to warn the monkey. She would let the world know that she was not to be provoked. They shouldn't touch what was hers.
