Lucille's lithe body moved through the bushes her draconic eyes glowing through the parted leaves, after hunting a few odd creatures here and there, she was now level 12, she had been journeying for about a week and had managed to find a lake in which she could carefully inspect her facial features, her face was in fact quite beautiful, her snout was thin with symmetrical nostrils and a small horn protruding between them portraying an elegant look.
Her scales glittered and barely visible tendrils of smoke rose from her nostrils and big draconic eyes that glowed like embers stared back at her from her reflection. She was quite satisfied with her appearance and was hellbent on evolving into an even more majestic life form!
She felt like quite the narcissist after admiring herself yet again and decided it was time to progress and quickly.
She stalked through the bushes that were growing haphazardly around a large forest of what looked like oak trees with silver trunks a silver tinged leaves which shone brilliantly in the sun. Their beauty was undeniable but the small dragon wasn't paying attention to the beauty that surrounded her.
Her eyes were narrowed to slits as she locked on to a medium sized mammal that vaguely resembled a white tailed deer but was white and had long white locks of hair falling from the base of it's shoulders until it's knees giving it a peculiar look. To Lucille it looked like a pillow with a head and legs plus a stubby tail nevertheless, she slowly drew closer to the unknowing animal ready to pounce.
Unfortunately for Lucille, it was the deer's lucky day. A loud roar echoed through the beautiful forest disturbing it's quiet beauty.
A large reptilian creature promptly crashed through the forest making a path through the forest, a trail of smashed trees lying in the creature's wake.
Lucille stared in silent horror at the beast that was almost 3 times her size, barely managing to breathe. The pressure exuded by this beast was intense, it felt like Lucille was being forced to carry a large boulder.
Thankfully the creature had not yet noticed her, it was towering at 3 meters tall, covered in a layer of dull brown scales that were covered in scratches and a few dents here and there, moss covered the scales as well as rocks and debris as if the creature had just popped out of the ground.
Coming to her senses, Lucille urged herself to calm down and assess the situation.
After taking a few deep breaths, she mentally gave her command "Show stats!"
A transparent panel resembling her own panel appeared, the only difference was that this one was accompanied with a hint of red, she assumed this meant that the monster was stronger than her, she quickly went over it's stats:
Lv20 Ground dragon (Young adult)
health: 550/550
mana: 300/300
Abilities:
Earthquake (2/3)
??? unable to analyse
???
strength: 50 speed:20 agility:15
The stats didn't offer much, she reread the panel a few times before sighing which, sounded quite odd coming from a dragon as it made more of a rumbling sound instead of the usual sigh.
She made up her mind, she would attempt an attack on this hulking ground dragon, it ought to be slow because of it's size so her best bet was to utilise her speed and agility against it.
She nimbly climbed one of the trees that was close by and carefully made her way towards the outer branches of the tree.
She was now above the creature that had come to a stop below the tree she had climbed as if it was searching for something.
Lucille waited until she was sure that the ground dragon hadn't noticed her presence and dropped onto it's back, right between it's shoulder blades.
The enemy dragon's thunderous roar resounded once more, scaring away a few birds as Lucille dug her sharp talons under the big dragon's scales.
Lucille had little to no combat experience, this was her first time fighting something bigger and stronger than her who had only been hunting small creatures or those that looked harmless. She had acted on impulse when she decided to attack the ground dragon.
She was now feeling a mixture of regret and adrenaline as her heartbeat quickened and the big dragon's roar that nearly blasted her eardrums didn't help.
The dragon started swaying from side to side as if to try and shake off his attacker but to no avail. Lucille dug her talons in deeper, her sharp claws ripping through flesh as she tightened her grip on the ground dragon's shoulder blades.
The Big dragon growled in frustration as it doubled it's efforts to shake off the small attacker.
Lucille was scared out of her wits but something told her that if she let go, she was done for. Riding on the big swaying dragon reminded her of the cowboys riding big bulls she often saw on television but this felt quite a bit more dangerous, a lot more dangerous.
Suddenly the ground dragon rolled into a ball, now resembling an armadillo.
"shit" Lucille thought as she saw the ground getting closer at an alarming speed but thanks to her agility, she was able to rip her claws out of the ground dragon's scaly hide and jump into a nearby tree.
The mass of brown scales slowly uncurled itself turning towards Lucille, it's draconic eyes, similar to Lucille' but green narrowed dangerously as it eyed the petite black dragon that had dared mess with it.
It bared it's rows of sharp teeth at the black dragon in front of it, intending to scare Lucille off but instead of heeding the big dragon's warning, she launched herself off of the tree branch and rushed towards the large dragon, intent on killing it even if it wad the last thing she was to do.
She fearlessly ran towards it, bearing her fang's that weren't quite as impressive as the ground dragon's and slowly built up a flame in the back of her throat.
