Toko was the only family the kids had. They lived together by themselves with no one else around. Toko had took it upon himself to train Takeo jr, and since he was the oldest he wanted to make sure that if he's ever gone the kids would be safe with Takeo protecting them. Every morning and afternoon would be the times they train. Toko had to limit the training because he mostly wanted to tend to Hitomi and make sure all the kids were always healthy.
Mind you that Toko is only 17 so he doesn't know much about taking care of kids considering he isn't even an adult yet, but he did it, him being their only family he tried his best to do all he can. All the kids were about 2 years apart Takeo jr being 10, Azuma was 8 Akuma, was 6, Asuna was 4 and Hitomi was 2. Toko had his hands full taking care of the kids , managing to train Takeo and retrieving all the house necessities for them to live.
5 years pass and it was nothing but a normal life for them everything going as Toko has hoped. Toko being 22 and Takeo 15 they still train but they train a lot more now since everyone is a significant age to where they can kinda take care of themselves or be trusted to be alone. Toko and Takeo training and Asuna is just watching, then Asuna asks why all of them just train together?
Toko thinks about it and thinks how strong everyone could get. So he begins to train all of them. All of the kids train with Toko except Hitomi. Hitomi was just pure of heart. She was always so full of life and energy being happy and ecstatic almost all the time. After 3 years Toko saw promising results from everyone, but Asuna, in his mind was special Toko seen a lot of potential, a kind heart and a brave soul within Asuna. He knew that if anyone was to complete his masters legacy due to Toko failing, it would be Asuna. Toko looking at all of them saw something special in all, with Takeo it was strong judgement and convictions, with Azuma he saw another kind spirit and a great leader, with Akuma he saw the strong belief of wanting to be stronger and better. Akuma was the type of person that was always hard at work perfecting everything to keep up with his siblings. Hitomi and Asuna were inseparable. Out of all of them ;those two had a special bond. Hitomi never trained or wanted to, instead she either watched or enjoyed the world around her.
One day when Asuna and Takeo are sparring, everyone hears Hitomi crying and screaming. They go rushing to see what's wrong. When they get there they see her with her hands covering her ears as she's crying and yelling," please stop, please stop it I can't take it anymore!" Asuna tries to calm her down but it's doesn't seem to work. He decides to take her hands of her ears and replace them with his. When he does this he also whispers, "it's ok". Hitomi stops crying looks at Asuna and just hugs him. Azuma and Akuma asks her what was wrong. She tells them that she heard nothing but the screams and pain of those in agony fighting. Toko shocked starts thinking to himself, " could it be that she hears those at war; I don't understand what could it mean; why is it happening now?" Hitomi starts to explain that it wasn't the first time it happened. She tells them her whole life so far she's been hearing the voices of those suffering. She says that it usually stopped after just a couple seconds but just now it seemed like it would never stop until Asuna helped her. Takeo walks outside and slowly behind him was Toko.
Toko asked, " what are you doing Takeo?"
Takeo " My sister suffers because of the non stop war that's been going on for almost a decade. We have to do something".
Toko " No we can't get involved we must stay here and continue to live our life in the peace that could go away any second."
Takeo " you trained us for what? My whole life I've been thinking of making a difference with my power. I truly believe that if we all get involved in this war we could stop it why don't you care about the world?"
Toko " My master, told me that I'm the one to inherit his will. I've always wondered why because I was never strong enough to help anyone. But you guys , I've grown so attached I don't want anything to happen to you guys. I promised your mother to look after you all and that's what I'm doing!"
Takeo " you have to make a decision. Do you want to only keep us safe, or do you want to create peace throughout the world? I'm gonna tell you how I feel. I feel like doing something right now because I plan on having kids and when I do I want to know that I changed this world made it better for them so they don't have to fight the war I could have stopped!"
Toko just looks at him in deep thought. Takeo tells him that he is going to fight so don't try to stop him. Toko in his head starts to talk to his sister.
Toko " your son has grown into a man with the strongest convictions. There's no stopping him now. He has made his decision."
Toko goes back into the house to where Hitomi fell asleep while Asuna is still holding her. Akuma asks where Takeo went so Toko tells him.
Akuma " how could you let him go alone?"
Azuma " He'll be back right?"
Toko... just stares.
Takeo arrives to a village where he helps a family get to safety. Upon doing this he squints his eyes and notices a man just standing there. They both acknowledge each other's presence until the mysterious man finally starts clapping. Takeo gets angry and ask why he's clapping. The man tells him that he's been destroying everything in his path for almost 10 years now and no one was brave enough to fight back even though everyone had the power to. Takeo gets even more angry and tells him it's because people in this world are tired of conflict they just want to die because they believe death is better than life on earth. Only a select few of people actually seek power and thirst for it and in their quest for ultimate power they take innocent lives. The man looks at Takeo tells him he's an interesting man and reveals his name as Shinto.
Hitomi wakes up only to find out that Takeo left. She finds Asuna just staring out a window looking at the sky as the weather seems to be changing. She asks what's wrong and he tells her how worried he is about Takeo and that if he's not back before it gets dark he's going to look for him and he wants Hitomi to not mention it to anyone. She agrees.
Takeo is fighting with Shinto and clearly winning. It starts raining and they just continue fighting. As the fight drags on Takeo finds away to finish it or so he thinks. Takeo and his family are able to manipulate light and use it as a form of energy so while training they worked to perfect their abilities. One attack he worked on was his holy sword. Just a make shift sword of just pure energy. So he uses it to stab and kill shinto. Rain pouring down Takeo realizing what he's done starts to contemplate what life is all about. Just as he turns his body his chest gets penetrated from behind as Shinto whispers in his ear with a sinister voice and a slight grin " it's not that easy". Takeo slowly turns around to see the eyes of Shinto, those eyes will be the last thing he sees as he falls to ground in a puddle of water and dies. When he hits the ground and takes his final breath with his last heart beat Hitomi realizes and can feel that he died. Asuna already looking for him, he can barely see because it's raining so hard and his eyes won't stay open.
He walks further until he sees a figure just laying there, he speeds up to it and finds out that it's Takeo's body. Asuna cradles him in his arms and just starts crying. He tries to pick up Takeo and put him on his shoulders but he keeps dropping him. Asuna finally puts him on his shoulders and takes his body back to the house. When he gets there he drops his body and leaves. Azuma , Akuma , Hitomi and Toko come out to find Takeo's body and as they all gather around it and cry Hitomi realizes that Asuna never came back. Leaving everyone worried and concerned what might have happened to him.
