His deep voice trembled as he told me to be free. Those blue eyes as blue as the sky in a sunny morning, the smile that somehow carries more sadness than his eyes, and his white short hair that sways with the wind looked familiar yet unknown. What a beautiful man bearing the saddest words.
He turned away from me and disappeared and I started to drown. The water kept filling up my lungs. I kept sinking even as I try to swim upwards towards the moon. But my feet was chained up to a ball of fire. I looked down on the ocean floor and saw the stars that filled the night sky.
'Walk away, Rain. Don't look back. This time, it's your turn to be free.' His words kept ringing on my ears.
'Don't walk away. . . Re-'
The annoying sound of the alarm woke me up. I tried to go back to sleep and try to continue the dream but unfortunately, dreams aren't television shows.
The drowning felt real, and so was the sinking. I thought I'm ready to die, but the fear I felt from the dream made me think otherwise.
I could hear the heavy rain outside. Even in this weather, I could still hear how lively the streets of St Lauren are.
"Rain, huh. He called me Rain." I sighed to relieve the pain on my chest. "Free?" I looked outside my window and on the tiny coffee shop across the street. "What's freedom anyway?"
