"Shit we're trapped!" James shouted furiously, slamming his hand against the wall. Causing the control room to begin to panic.
"Sir what are we going to do?" One of them asked, his eyes shaking in fear at the sight of the beast hoard closing in on them.
"Don't worry we've got the situation under," Lachlan said from behind them calmly.
"What do you mean?" James asked confused. He looked around and noticed that Chloe and Phoebe were missing.
"Where are two of the girls?" James asked concerned. He was hoping they weren't going to do anything risky. They needed every hand to help they could get.
"Just keep watching," Lachlan had confidence in what he had planned. James, on the other hand, was completely uncertain and slightly worried. He walked towards the window and peered out, trying to see anything unusual.
"Sir we're reading on the scanners that a large body of water is approaching from behind us," A soldier on the computer quickly informed James.
James leaned over the look at the screen and saw the same thing, his expression turned into panic, "Everyone needs to grab onto something tight, alert everyone else on the ship. The other ships should have noticed and are doing the same things."
Lachlan and the others also grabbed onto things. But unlike the other which were panicking Lachlan was smiling, he knew it worked. And it was something that would come in clutch right not if they wanted to get out of here.
Looking towards the port he noticed the beasts panicking and running away. The Serqet was creating walls of thick rock in an attempt to reduce the tsunamis force. The other two were running for their lives.
On the rock path, the beasts were almost left to die. Due to the walls that the Serqet made, he left their army on the other side to be annihilated. Then something that even shocked Lachlan happened.
A giant dome encased all the ships, it was made entirely from water. At the furthest end of the dome where the tsunami was, the water wasn't breaching. It was as if the water was being guided towards the beasts.
The boat began to shake again, scraping against the hard rock. Looking down Lachlan realised that there was water picking up the boat, moving it towards deep water.
"Yeah!" The whole control room cheering with joy. They had been saved from the gates of hell twice in this one day, their hearts really couldn't take it anymore.
James, on the other hand, turned towards Lachlan with shock in his eyes, Lachlan merely nodded his head and spoke three words, "Told you so."
Although Lachlan himself was also internally shocked from the sight. But he would question the girls later about the dome, as for now, he just had to act as though he had the whole situation under control.
...
On the other end of the tsunami that was left completely fine, there was a small boat with five soldiers, each staring at each other in shock.
"What the fuck is this," Michael couldn't help but lose it. A giant tsunami just formed in front of them. What wasn't shocking about it? If they had been any faster they might have been caught in the tsunami's wrath.
"Any quicker boss and we would have been doomed," A soldier to his side said as he wiped the sweat from his forehead.
"Isn't the direct the tsunami going towards the base," One of them suddenly said. Their expressions turned to worry, they also had family there.
"Get going boys, full speed!" Michael was just as worried now. They needed to get their fast.
...
Back on the boat the control room quickly went into action. Going full throttle away from the land, they didn't want anymore surprised.
After a few minutes the dome that encased all the ships disappeared, the water that formed it sunk back into the ocean as if nothing happened. Phoebe and Chloe walk through the door and the group finally realised they had been missing.
"Where were you two?" Zoe asked.
"Went to ready ourselves to fight again, before we were suddenly thrown around like a ragdoll," Chloe angrily said. Phoebe and she had been told to keep quiet about the abilities, saying that if the information ends up in the wrong hands, everyone is screwed.
"Yeah I almost smacked my head against the wall," Phoebe pouted.
On the side, James was confused about it. He swore that they were what caused their battle to turn around. He looked towards Lachlan who motioned him to follow him.
They walked outside and down the hall slightly, where it was quiet and no one was around.
"What did they really do?" James has dealt with people long enough to know when someone is lying. Although there are some pros that are able to trick his observation, the two girls were certainly not pros.
"I don't know what you're talking about," Lachlan responded calmly and noticed James' bewildered expression. James had quickly realised that Lachlan was definitely one of those professionals.
"You told me already that you planned something, can you please tell me what the tsunami and shield was?" James was slightly more interest in the shield. It was a dome that protected them, and although he wasn't certain how strong it was, it might even be able to stop missiles.
"Depends, will you tell the government about it?" Lachlan did feel the need to tell him. He wasn't some corrupted government authority, he was someone that fought for the people, protecting and saving them during this horrible time.
"Why would it matter that the government learns about it?" James asked. Lachlan didn't think that after living for so long James would actually be so innocent.
"It's not specifically the government as a whole. It's about certain individuals that have rather extreme ideas about the world. If they were to get their hands on this information they'll start terrorising cities with already terrified people."
"True, I have come across and fought people like that during the war times," Lachlan quickly remembered that James was a vice admiral. He's probably seen much worse stuff then he has throughout his time.
"So, with that being said I'll keep it a secret and only tell those that I can trust with all my heart," James said as he hit his chest.
"Each beast has a special ability, some might have abilities similar to others but everything has one. There are also requirements for those abilities, infants certainly can't use them while it takes an elder to use it by itself," Lachlan explained.
"Elder?" James was confused by Lachlan's terms.
"An oldest of the beasts. Elder is what I call them, below them are adults, adolescents, teenagers, children then finally at the very bottom are infants," Lachlan calmly explained. He made it sound as though he came up with all of this, he merely listed at what his eyes have shown him so far.
"Alright, so it takes more of one type of beast, the younger they are?" James asked for confirmation and Lachlan nodded.
He then began to walk back to the control room, "Remember, only tell those that you trust, I don't want humanity's destruction to caused by humanity itself."
James followed behind Lachlan thinking about all the information he just got told. The first thing he was trying to organise was who he should tell. Because this information is vital to the survival of humanity, but just as Lachlan told him it could also be its destruction.
