'Where is Mindo's emergency beacon coming from, please?'' Captain Silverthorne of the GBI rescue forces asked for further confirmation of the coordinates once they have exited the normal settled regions of space and voyaging towards the uncharted space and traveling sub-light speed as fast as they can.
'The planet named B1, Sir.' The navigation officer patiently answered. Their captain is slightly older and not as adapt as remembering the names of the locations, but he is as sharp as ever when it comes to battle field experience and decision making especially regarding any encounters with organized hostile forces. Plus he is exceptionally patient with all the officers and gave them all personal pointers and tips, as he believed that treating hot crew right is one of the primary responsibilities of being a captain.
'Thank you, officer.' Captain Silverthorne nodded firmly, 'I do not like B1, but let's go save our comarades. All ships, straight ahead and prepare for hostiles. Scanning officer report whenever you deemed necessary!
'Captain!' Immediately after Captain finished his orders, the Scanning officer spoke up, 'a medium carrier sized spacecraft is detected taking off from the surface of B1! Location uploaded!'
As he finished his sentence, a hologram of the planets surface as well as the outlines of the Absolute Being's mothership rising from the mountains itself is shown.
'That looked bigger than a medium, officer.' Captain Silverthorne is as sassy as ever, by the look of it, this bandits that Cellica and Dolon were talking about seemed to have a significant financial backing behind them. And speaking of which, they have been offline a few minutes ago with Mindo's beacon going offline. At this rate, they would have to assume the worst first, stop that ship and send out rescues as soon as they can.
Medium carrier spacecraft is already a weight classe above the ship that Captain Silverthorne is leading as well as all the accompanying medium cruisers. If that ship is to be completely armed and ready to fight, there might really be nothing that they can do.
'Alert the fleet, and get them to space out nicely ready for a surrounding manuvre!' Captain Silverthorne ordered and the fleet scattered outwards starting from this moment ready to face this gigantic enemy. From the look of this impending confrontation, it reminds the captain of how killer whales work in packs to take down a grey whale. With coordination and precision, they will be fine, surely. Of course, they have no idea of what's happening down on the surface except for some spikes of energy readings, one of which is thanks to Dolon.
'Communication officer, continue to contact Cellica and Mindo!' The captain ordered, knowing full well that communications officer had never stopped to link up, 'also, alert the headquarters about this.'
'Yes Sir.' The officer reported as she opened up yet another channel and sent a message out.
Suddenly, there is movement. Like a whale that's finished feeding in a region, the giant carrier ship began to rise up slowly and fly away, however, it already knew of the GBI forces and intentionally piloted with the bow of the spacecraft facing them. Then, there is contact, made by Lady Lily. It's a radio call, and it was made the minute Captain Silverthorne's ship entered valid communication range.
'Sir, we have a call request.' The communication officer reported, and the Captain gave her a thumbs up to let her link the two up. Lady Lily's face showed up in place of the hologram of planet B1 and their mothership.
'This is Lady Lily from the ship Totality of Absolute Being, calling.'
'You are speaking with Galaxy Bureu of Intelligence rescue fleet captain Silverthorne. State your purpose and your actions on this planet as well as what you have done to our agents!'
'I will state my purpose alright.' Lady Lily put on her smile once again as she prepare for herself.
This day will come eventually when the Absolute Being will no longer remain as someone behind the scenes, and the master had prepared Lady Lily and all of his trusted generals about what to say, however, that day is not today. The master's preparation is still a work in progress and they have not gathered enough artifact users to have become a legitimate force to be reckoned with. However that day will come a lot closer if they tamed the animal that is Dolon and brought such a fierce fighter to their side.
'But today, is not the day. I am afraid the GBI will have to step back a bit. Don't bit off more than what you can chew.' Lady Lily held back the urge of announcing themselves to the universe, or at least to the GBI who will probably keep the information to themselves.
'Then why do you make contact?' Captain Silverthorne asked unfazed.
'It's just so that both of our bosses knew what we had to do. Your crew is somewhere down on the planet's surface mostly unharmed, waiting for you to rescue them while my crew is planning to get out of here.' Lady Lily replied casually as their ship continued to move closer but obviously following a path that avoids the surrounding fleet, 'if you choose to slow us down, then we will retaliate, and you will be sure to know the full power of this ship. But if you only came here to do what you were called to do, then we can go our separate ways from now on. Does that sound good?'
'Captain! She is bluffing!' the strategy adviser sitting next to Captain Silverthorne does not sit well with Lady Lily's threats, and the GBI should not and will not bow down to anybody, especially those that operate outside the law. But Captain Silverthorne is thinking more clearly about the safety of the whole fleet rather then his own pride. All of what she said is true, apart from the power of the ship, but Captain Silverthorne really isn't sure about the fire power of this rescue fleet once Totality emerged from the surface of the planet.
And if he rescued Mindo and his crew, then his job is done, no more and no less. There really isn't any other option, and it seems like Lady Lily's proposition is the best they have. With no bloodshed, he would have done what he needed to do and the blame would fall on Mindo and Cellica if on anybody at all, seeing nobody believed Cellica's tall tale until this moment.
'I will take the deal, Lady Lily. All ships, let Totality pass without hindrance.' Captain Silverthorne ordered despite the protest of his young advisers. And Lady Lily is visibly pleased with his response, and respond cheerfully,
'Thank you, Captain. I wish you a peaceful voyage.' Lady Lily shut off the communications, and the gigantic ship Totality began their move. The bridge remained silent as all of the officers awaits Captain Silverthorne's further orders, while some was expect something else. But to Captain Silvertorne's oldest officers, the stoic expression on his face meant that there is no more orders to give.
All he intended for the crew to do has been said.
Before any protests can be made as Totality passes through the weak blockade, the more experienced members hushed the younger ones back to their stations and start their rescue attempt. A whole surface scanning is to commence and then a search perimeter will be established around the site where the gigantic ship emerged.
As the cruisers descent through the atmosphere, Captain Silverthorne compiled all the data collected by the ship's communications and scanning officer into a neat file, and prepared for it to be send to the headquarters. It seemed like this time, the organization in front of him is of a different breed. But hey, this is the responsibilities of the youngsters.
All Captain Silverthorne can do now is to rescue those future stars within the bureau, and support them to fight the good fight. That's all the older generation can do now.
