Audrey received a message from Kylie saying that their classes were suspended for the day because there's an upcoming storm and they're told to go home. Aiden on the other hand seemed to have received the same message for their phones beeped at the same time.
Thinking that a storm might be coming scares her the sound of it alone is scary enough to . So when she looked at the person in front of him, he already knew what she means. She's just really easy to read at times like this.
"I'll send you home."
"No need. My brother said he'll take me home today and besides you still have a flight to catch right?" She said while sulking a little thinking that he'll leave once again and not knowing when he'll come back.
"It's still hours away till my flight. And I think it's faster to send you home by car than foot or would you rather prefer getting yourself caught in the storm?"
Of course not! Who likes thunder and lightning? Not me!" She said as she called his brother on the phone.
As he waits for Audrey to be finished with her call, his phone started ringing. It's Angela. Of course she's looking for him. He answered it abruptly and said without waiting for her to speak, "I'm busy. Go home on your own."
"But I didn't bring my car."
"Your problem not mine."
"But it's about to rain soon and I didn't bring my umbrella."
Aiden took a peak outside by looking at the window that was being covered with dark curtains and said "It's still not raining so if you leave now you can get a cab without any problem."
"But Aiden…"
"Bye."
He's actually tired of the façade that Angela's been trying to put. He thinks that he's done and it's already enough for she's been ordering her around like he's her dog or something.
After hanging up, he was almost startled when he heard Audrey spoke besides him.
"That was brutal."
"What's with that? Would you rather want me to send her home instead of you?"
"Won't you get troubled if you didn't? I mean I can go home on my own. My house is not that far."
"Maybe. But I don't need to follow her all the time like she's my girlfriend. Wait. Did you just tell me to send home another girl?" He asked surprised for he thought he misheard it.
"Uh, yes?"
"Silly panda. Are you giving your boyfriend to others that easily?"
"B-boyfriend?"
"Or would you rather call me your husband?"
"W-what already?! I'll settle with the boyfriend first. Geez!"
"Does that mean that I'm your boyfriend for real now?" He smiles from ear to ear.
"Wait. What?!" She looked at him and saw a big smile on his face and that's when she felt like she was being tricked. "Did you just trick me by making you my boyfriend?"
"I love you." He gave her a sweet cunning smile.
"I-I don't believe you anymore you swindler!"
He laughed and teasingly said, "I just confessed my feelings to you and now you're calling me a swindler? Poor me."
"It's just that you always make fun of me and that's making me confused if you are serious or not."
A sudden switch had flipped that quickly altered Aiden that triggered him to turn real serious. He pushed and pinned Audrey on the wall making sure that she won't escape by leaning on to her leaving only a few inch of space to breathe.
He looked at her earnestly directly in the eye making sure that she's well aware of his seriousness right now. "I'm serious about you Audrey Gray. I know that I may just seem to joke around but if I happen to be this serious all the time then I'm afraid that I might overwhelm you with thoughts that only your mind had imagined."
"O-okay."
"Good."
She nodded as she agreed and understood that he's going to be like this like all the time then it'll be bad for her heart for it'll be too much to handle. Actually, this is already too much for her too handle already for there seemed to be a sudden turn of events that fortunately resulted into something that's so good to be true.
Aiden smiled and contemplated that she gets the message that he wanted her to get. But when he moved away and stood up straight, he saw a very interesting expression of her that reminded him that she needed to be protective of her for she's just giving such a pure reaction right now.
"You're only allowed to show that expression to me got it?"
"What expression?" She modestly asked acting a little coy for she felt that what just happened a little earlier almost gave her a mini heart attack.
Aiden sighed heavily and said, "Let's just get you home now before the rain pours."
"Y-yeah. That's a good idea."
As they were walking back to their room, unexpectedly, Aiden's phone started ringing. He looked at it and his disappointed look made it obvious that it's someone who he doesn't want to talk to specially now that all that he wanted was just spend his remaining hours with Audrey before he leaves again.
He cancelled the call and ignored it but his phone just kept on ringing.
"Why don't you answer it?" Audrey then reads the name that's being reflected on to the screen, "Hailey." She looked at him and saw that he look really displeased that she's calling him. So she said, "It's okay. Answer it."
"I don't need to."
"Don't worry. It's okay. You need to answer it anyway."
"But…"
"I understand." She stood and added, "I'll just be here browsing at…my phone."
Aiden saw that Audrey didn't really mean what she said. He saw her sit at one step of the stairs, took her earphones out of her pocket and opened her phone. He could tell, she didn't like the idea but clearly understood the situation that they're in.
He's actually over the moon right now for his sudden confession turned into a success. But again, as good as it gets there will always be a quick detour in order to balance the happiness that he feels.
But of course he wouldn't let a single call ruin the euphoria that he's in right now and so does Audrey's.
