Chapter 46 - Chapter 46: No Holding Back

"…Aiden."

Now that he's just a few steps away from her, there was no running away. If she was absorbed by the crystal eyes of Pierre earlier, now all she can ever care to think is the person currently in front of her looking at her with a pair of eyes that says more than a thousand words.

His presence easily entered her calmed heart like a storm. Her mind is now in current chaos as she tries her hardest to compose herself. She doesn't want to lash all her mixed thoughts all together at once. There were lots of question that she wanted to ask but she's afraid that she might appear to be nagging about things and she doesn't want that.

"Audrey what happened to you???" Kylie asked panicking as she hugged her.

"Uhm I…I was trapped inside a storage locker earlier and I…was saved by him." She said avoiding Aiden's gaze as she pointed at Pierre who is sitting at the chair in her opposite direction.

"Oh gosh thank you so much! You're an angel!" Kylie rushed towards him to shake his hand.

"You two really are friends. Anyways, you're welcome. I heard someone asking for help and that's what I did." He said with a sweet smile.

"That's really nice of you. Can I grab you a drink outside? To thank you. I think we should go…outside?" She looked at him signaling that they should leave the two alone.

The atmosphere seemed a little heavy though. Pierre immediately thought that there must be something going on between the two. Somehow, he doesn't feel good about it but still he chose to leave with Kylie.

Now that the two were left alone, the vast four corners of the room are making the both of them realize that one of them should break the deafening silence between them. Audrey remained standing as she tries to distract herself away from looking back at Aiden.

Aiden knew that something like this might happen so before anything of this turned into something unfixable, he needed to settle this misunderstanding between them.

"Audrey can we talk?" He asked almost pleading.

"What is there to talk about?" She replied subtly.

"You are mad at me."

"What? N-no. Why would I?" She said denying. She remained looking at the opposite direction for she knew that his stare would instantly make her give up. Honestly, she really is mad. Mad at him and mad at herself.

She was more anguished with herself right now because she just wanted to really make up with him but the words that blurted out of her mouth were words that she least wanted to say. Her heart was starting to take over her more that her mind.

"I'm really sorry for suddenly disappearing like that."

"No need to apologize. There was no harm done. Now, can you please move out of my way so that I can leave?"

"If I let you leave right now, I'm afraid that I might lose you forever." He moved forward cornering Audrey on the wall. He made sure that she won't escape so he put a hand on the wall right behind her telling her that there's no escaping.

"Please just move."

His voice, his perfume, his very existence, she could feel them all. If he would do or say any more than this, she knew exactly that she would start to break down.

"I won't let you leave till you let me explain." He looked and analyzed her expression. It pains to see her like this. It's almost breaking his heart.

She looked down and turned silent. She missed him. She missed him so much that all she can think about was him all day and night. She was so worried that something bad must have happened to him but knowing that he's okay is good to know. But still, all those days and nights that she spent praying and hoping that he's okay is tearing her up.

When she saw Angela and Aiden together earlier, though there weren't doing anything intimate aside from the fact that Angela was clinging on to him like some leech is making her think twice before she says such words again that were supposed to stay only at her mind.

She wanted to say how worried she was when he left. She wanted to say that she's sorry. She wanted to say that she missed him but she was so afraid about the consequences.

"Hey. Talk to me."

She bit her lip trying to think what she should say because once she said something that she didn't mean again, there's no taking it back. The urge to look at him was so strong that she remained looking on the floor. She's afraid to lose her reasoning if he overpowers her.

"If you won't talk to me, I won't know what you're thinking. Look. I'm really sorry. Will you listen if I explain myself to you?"

"No…"

"Please, I tried my hardest just to get back here as early as I could so that I could see you."

"Now that you've seen me you must be satisfied. Now move aside." She wanted to shove him off but she knew that if their skin touches, she's might submit.

"I'm not satisfied."

"Then what more do you want?"

"Maybe I want you to look at me. You've been talking to me like I'm not in front of you."

"I don't need to look at you while I speak."

"Oh really?" Aiden caressed Audrey's cheek and lifted her chin up making her face him. Finally, he met her eyes. But the moment he did he was lost for words. Audrey started tearing up.

She couldn't contain any more of her emotions anymore. She was struggling on holding it all to herself but it seems that there's no holding back. When she met his eyes, she was immediately compelled by him.

She had reached her limit. There was no denying that he already began being someone with such a great impact on her. And crying is just one of the many things that she'll experience is she chooses to stay with him like this.

Maybe she needed this to sort her feelings out.
