Chapter 8 - 8: The Mysterious Feature/s

♪Evangelion Ost♪

This the ongoing tale of a bunch of randoms who got stuck into a body of a kid with a ridiculous name into an adventure that they reluctantly follow. Currently, They were saved by a magic man with similar features as the kid, everything was working out into what Chuni described as a "Plot format" but was summarize by Monk as a "Fortuitous Event". The magic man provided shelter, nursed him back to health, and food. Lot of these randoms started debating about thanking him or being wary that their savior might be wrong in the head for the way they looked at him. This was quickly shut down where Monk just archaically said to choose one then deal with the second. So everyone chooses to agree on the kid doing the thanking to the magic man while the rest figure out how and if that person might be a pedophile. or predator. or a Pedophilic predator

Our chapter starts on the 3rd day of being bed rest ruffling about how uncomfortable sleeping on a hay bed. Everyone was recollecting the bits and surprises from earlier so they can do anything else aside from having to worry about something; The console, the screen, the on/off smell, the fast recovery, and magic.

Chuni pointed out that they were experiencing some sort of a game feature while ignoring the insults from the others. Leth, who's hugging his pillow, rocking his body back and forth on the floor. Antique is ignoring everything in favor of picking a bugger out of his nose and Conny is irritating Specs near the consoles trying to literally and figuratively push his buttons. Monk is watching the screen wondering why the kid is starting at the ceiling. Sephiroth has realized he is currently in possession of the most known feature to the isekai novels, A (video)game mechanics.

So no shit there he was, on the way back to the Consciousness to investigate why some previous features were on/off like them hearing his inner thoughts and them smelling the outside world. Sephiroth got an idea that its an on/off feature. A flip-up switch. He walked himself to the console as the others can't be bothered with him. He stood near the console. Investigating what deal of personalization Specs did to it. Littered with mini holographic boards with the writing of scientific jargon around the qwerty keyboard in an unknown language too futuristic to understand. On both sides, beside the cube buttons, where flick switches, some are lit. Labeled with 'Noises' 'Smell sick' 'Doors'

He immediately glanced at Specs, confused at what he means by 'doors' then glanced again in the litany of notes, single word descriptions, and sketches.

"This is amazing... " he thought. "If only I can read it, that be great"

In his curiosity, he started to guess why some words can be understood while most are just greek to him. He shrugged it off and he randomly flipped a switch.

It did nothing.

He tried to flip any switches that have no notes or doodles attached to it. Again, it did nothing.

"Of course it won't" he chuckled at himself "If it did then he already written something to it"

Of course, this was noticed by everyone. The clicking noise from the switches was sharp and loud enough that everyone turned their head at him. Most just grin and ignored him. Except for Chuni.

[We tried everything in there,] Chuni said [Since it took you days just to woke up. We almost thought you're dead already and that we're dead. Again However, Conny-san said it's an offshoot to look at that way since we're still stuck here. Waiting for something to happen.]

Sephiroth ignored him halfway through. He nodded constantly in beat to Chuni's tone. He was looking at the blocks beside the consoles. They are a push on/off type that upon pushing one it got dented inside and pushing it again puts in back in the original position. He was fondly looking at one scribble beside this one block 'Constellation. Not. Known"... He felt a tap from his right shoulder

[Oi! you listening to me?!] Chuni growled.

"What's' this?" as he points at the scribble

[Wha-what? you ignored me then you ask me for something?] Chuni's face twitched [Sigh. Move aside. Oh, This one!. This one was pretty. Specs-san pressed this one and the whole place was like transported to the galaxy. We see everything. The Stars, planets, nebulae, auroras, and something else. It was amazing. Specs-san just ignored it and said some like the stars are wrong or out of place.] Chuni smirked [It's nice seeing Specs-san knows nothing at something once in a while... Maximize it? what do you mean? well, you can try... I guess]

"If this was a game..." he thought "This. this constellation... is a game feature"

He laid his finger in the block. Pressed it deeper until he heard a click. Suddenly, everything shook out of place. the colors inside the whole area were shuffling which turned to dark then little balls littered the area then followed by a spectrum of colors and sparkle which now adorned the room. This was a galaxy viewpoint. He looked around and was satisfied. Amazing to him was an understatement. Chuni smiled all the way to his ears. He stated that he wouldn't get bored doing this every time. To others? not so much. Antique puked after the light-show stabilized. Conny was hissing insults at Sephiroth. Monk scolded the two. Specs asked what they want.

"Shhh! listen. Listen. Fucking hell! I said listen!"

[CALM DOWN! BOY!] Monk's booming voice shook everyone to silence.

"What if this was a game?" Sephiroth asked for everyone "No... sorry. Stop looking at me like that. Ahem. What if some features of the game that we can control? like an RPG setting?"

In contrast to his eagerness for the idea, he received deafening silence from the audience. the previous look of disgust, now it was a look of pity.

[What he meant was what if we can improve ourselves? In an interesting way?] Chuni said excitedly [Take for example the mumbling of drowsy-san about magic. What if... what if we can harness it?] explaining it to everyone with even more vague examples

[Even if it is true, And I'm saying it's not] Specs doubtful about this [If by off-chance it did... Yes... that will be... hmm. Intriguing] then he laughed maniacally

"Ugh. This is getting nowhere" he thought.

As with any initial start to a presentation, he calmed everyone down, grabbing their attention for the next step.

"Since you won't believe me, then I just have to show you!" he said.

He remembered earlier what Chuni said about Specs commenting that all the constellation where out-of-place. It struck an idea that maybe this constellation itself was something Specs could not recognize for himself for a pre-requisite experience is needed. Being a gamer for a video game. The old world specifically the Greeks have emulated traits of spectacular personage to mythologize within the night sky. The Gorgeous Constellations. With this, If you look at the lore of video games, their flavor text, and their so-called skill/stat tree or a mandala style branching system. It's a branching constellation. Well, if you look it that way, then it's more of a tree than a constellation.

For Sephiroth, this was nostalgic. This feeling of warmth and belongingness can be only be felt when something is truly familiar to you. This was the Skyrim skill tree or the player constellations for every branch of schools of activity. Even if Chuni had the same feeling that this was a game feature it didn't come close that they were looking at a Skyrim feature!

He kept his excitement inside of him. He looked at the gorgeous view. Everythings was pretty to look at but if you take a look at the finer details, nothing was moving and everything was still. So he had to look around for something different. It didn't take long for him to recognize the three blinking stars that are close to each other. He reached out his hand and the whole view shifted inward.

"Behold," he said as he spread his arms facing everyone

After the view shifted again, it prompted Antique to puke again. This made Monk be more... proactive in this conversation.

[What is this that you seek?] As monk said with every clear and interesting voice.

"To level up" Sephiroth replied with a smile

[Urggh. That kindly tingled my skin a bit of how cringy that is!] Chuni said while comforting Antique. [What's this? why it suddenly looks... well it looks like from a Final Fantasy Game!]

"Sky- Final Fantasy? What'd you mean Final Fantasy?!" he grunted back "This is honest to something good old Skyrim Feature! How can you tell-- Oh! Wow. That looks different..."

He glanced back at the view, watching gaped at something he did not expect, from the pre-positioned constellation sets he was used to. Now, it is just a random mess of constellations that are transparent well mostly. He looked at the three blinking small beads. One was green taking the left cluster, One was blue taking the top cluster, and the last one was white taking the right cluster. As Chuni said, this was different but why final fantasy? he had to find out more.

"Final Fantasy?" he asked

[Yes] Chuni replied

"Well?" he asked. Irritated. he waited for more but came up only with them awkwardly staring at each other "Argh! You know the final fantasy brand got more oxymoronic the longer it's alive! Now, tell me! which one is it!" demanding some answers. This, of course with his tone and manner, was quickly shut down by Monk.

[Heh. It's the Tenth entry] Chuni chuckled

"Hmm... Ahh! Of course!" Sephiroth thought. "Hah! It's the Sphere Grid system from FFX! It's- It's ingenious to represent the stars as spheres. but why?" he paced around "This is just mixing two and two together, Skyrim the skills/stat setting, but with a Final Fantasy X grid system and telling itself that's okay without any explanation! This does not make any sense!... Arghh! this makes my head hurts!"

As the others watch on intently even without the slightest knowledge of this context. They tried to understand more of it. They all agreed earlier that they have to give the kid some space in which they understood that he may be letting off some steam from what happened earlier. However, Conny was different. He didn't understand what the two kids were saying and weren't too keen on it at first but along the way, he gets the main idea of it and his eyes rose up in excitement.

[You can get more powerful or better at something as long as you do something with it? That's amazing] Conny thought [Yet every amazing thing is not without its challenges] Both of his eyes were twitching in a synchronistic manner. A habit he picked up from his previous life. [This. This has rules. Rules. Rules can be exploited. Exploitation is fun.] This tingled his funny bone to some degree. To get ahead against the others was, for him, the most exhilarating moment. He smiled. he got impatient watching Sephiroth jumbled around with words that do not ring a bell. He quickly walked next to sephiroth and knocking him down to the side. He looked at the 3 blinking stars and reached his hand across. Touching the closes sphere to him, The Green Sphere. then the view shifted again.

NATURE'S PHYSIQUE (INNATE)

- THE MANIFESTATION OF A WORLD IN ONE'S BODY

===============

[It's just some random word. A ball of green surrounded by empty circles.] Uninterested. He moved on to the next sphere, The Blue Sphere.

===============

PHILOSOPHER'S AMBITION (INNATE)

- THE PURSUIT OF THE GREATEST IN ONE'S MIND

===============

[This! ssshh shah. This is just the same thing in a different color!] His face reddened. He felt that this was closing into becoming a joke.

APEX'S DESTINY (INNATE)

- THE DOMINATING REALM IN ONE'S SOUL

===============

[You! you made this up, didn't you?] He pointed at Sephiroth. Reddened and fuming. He walked towards him, clenching his fist. [Oh, hu hu hu. Grit your teeth, kid. Oh, I'm going to enjoy! *inhale* smashing them in. What?! Oh, you want some too- Ugh] as he flew to the side and impacting the console with his body.

Before Conny's fist hit Sephiroth, Monk grabbed his hand and shook his head at Conny. Gesturing at him to stop but Conny didn't listen to the 7ft tall bulky bald man. He insisted to push his shame towards the scary man and before he even finishes his threat, he got flown to the console and got knocked out cold.

[Purity in mind, as in tranquility of the soul for the body shall reign in peace with the void eternal] As he walked near the three stars [Purity is stateless. Tranquility is endless. Peace is Formless. It can be all or it cannot be at all.] He opened his eyes. Praying over the stars with his hand [The Heaven, The Earth, and The Infinite shall spread and be unbound. Perhaps soon. Maybe yesterday. or just today.] An eerily silent followed. All of them watched as he was speaking in an archaic manner, he stood still, waved his hand around, smiled, and just walked away.

"Ahh. Thank you, sir!" Sephiroth shyly said.

The Monk stopped and smiled at him. He looked at him for a few seconds and continued walking away next to Leth and sat down beside him.

Sephiroth quickly recovered. He ran near the grid system's interface, looking at each sphere's description, he was sure it was related to him. The idea got to him when Conny blurted out each of the sphere's name. He deduced that the first word of each sphere was connected to what he said in the past. An Alchemic Wooden Dragon. Dovsenjuelric. Dovah for the Skyrim's immortal dragon from Elder Scrolls, Wood for the Senju clan specifically Hashirama from Naruto. Well, this can be a stretch since there's too many Senju character. Lastly, Elric. The Elric brothers from Full Metal Alchemist. The Alchemic process... the forceful melding of the elements.

"This- This so cool!" jumping wildly with glee. Soon he heard Chuni asking him what is happening and what the spheres name meant. He told him everything about what he thinks this was. He told him of the name Chuni was cringing about. He told him that he put this name just in case something cool happens and it paid off nicely. Chuni's face widened in surprise that it works... In truth, he was secretly jealous and proceeded to keep telling himself that he just got lucky and everything about this, all of this, will soon be his.

[HAHA! so what now, Champ?- Uwow!, you ever notice those doors?] He pointed at the far end of the room, opposite of the screen. [That wasn't there before, right?] He glanced at the console and noticed Conny's body was on top of it. [Maybe it flicked some switches when he landed there.] He thought

"Why it's so bright and shiny?" he squints his eyes and blocked the rays afraid he might go blind. He didn't felt himself but his feet were dragging him closer to the light.

[Oi, Oi, Oi! Baka-san where are you going?!] Chuni hissed. Sephiroth wasn't listening to him. He saw him even with his arms up trying to hide away from an imaginary blinding light. He looked around and saw nothing, he looked at Specs prompting to say something but even he was baffled of what's happening. They didn't see any light coming from the door. It's just a simple white door. The color can't be that blinding, can it? Without much choice, He skipped towards Sephiroth. Telling him to wait for him.

"Where's this sweet sound coming from?" he thought "Why is it getting closer?" His senses were blocked. He was not aware he was walking. He was not hearing Chuni telling him to wait up. He only felt the sweet soothing sound and the wind that accompanied it.

"Wind? There is wind here? That can't be right" he thought. He stops. He stood still and laid down his arms and closed his eyes. He took breathing exercise and once he was done, the sound was gone but the wind got stronger and turn into a breeze. What comes after next was something Sephiroth he will be always fond of in the future. He opened his eyes

A vast field of grass can be seen. swaying back and forth from the breeze. He looked forward and he saw was grass. He looked to his right and he saw was grass. He looked to his left and still saw grass. He looked down and saw he was on top of a small hill and beside him was a sapling of an unknown tree whose leaves were also swaying back and forth from the breeze. But when he looked back, he saw a fat Asian guy coming out of the door and slamming at him.

"UGGGHHHHH!!! GET OFFF!!!!!"
