It was eight in the morning when Cindy finally opened her eyes. Squinting her eyes while groaning slightly, she held her throbbing head in her hands, massaging it a bit. Her throat felt itchy and her stomach felt worse. Her eyes caught the sight of unfamiliar blanket, decoration, and curtains and she slowly pushed herself up into sitting position.
Where am I? She thought to herself.
Despite feeling uncomfortable with her headache, she tried to remember what had happened to her. Her last memory was when she was drinking with Jess. She knew there was a bit of alcohol in the drinks she drank last night, but she had no idea her level of tolerance had dropped that low. Her limit was only one shot of tequila. The drink last night was a bit sweet, so there was no way she would be wasted only after several shots -okay, it was around 5 to 6 shots, but it was not strong enough to knock her out. The worse that should have happened to her was feeling a bit tipsy, but this time she woke up in someone's bedroom and she had no recollection about it at all. Did someone put something into her drinks?
Somehow, she vaguely remembered that there were some people who forced her to do something but she couldn't make out their faces clearly. Was that the reason she got drunk last night? But, who did it?
Was she somehow in danger last night?
As she was thinking about what had happened, the door was opened from the outside and who came behind it surprised her.
Why was this school star here?
"Good morning." He greeted with warm smile plastered on his handsome face. "Here, drink this." He put a glass full of something unknown to her on the nightstand beside her.
She was dumbfounded, but her face was still stoic as ever. She was used to hide her emotion, so something like seeing a school star in front of her would not affect her expression.
"It will help you with your hangover." He explained softly. Warm glow emitted from his toned body, creating an illusion of a good husband tending his drunken wife.
Cindy blinked her eyes and turned her head away. What was she thinking?
Well, it was not the point; the point was what was he doing here?
"You got drunk last night and I bought you to my apartment since you said your roommate's boyfriend was coming." As if knowing what she was thinking about, the beautiful boy said lightly.
So that's what happened. Pieces of memory came into her mind and the boy's face appeared in it. She remembered she brazenly held his cheeks in her hands. Fighting the urge to curse herself, she cleared her throat slightly. Then, something clicked inside her head, was she really in his house? Various misfortune flashed in her mind if his lunatic fan girls were ever to find out she stepped inside his apartment. Oh boy. Hopefully they wouldn't notice it.
Daniel Dwayne was their high school's running-back which had the most potential to go pro after he graduated from high school. He had a pair of mesmerizing eyes and thick eyebrows. Completed with a set of wild brown hair, handsome features, and sexy voice, he was practically a dream of almost every girl at school. Not only those who were inside the school, but also the others outside. His toned body and strong muscles made almost every girl weak in their knees. There was even rumor about him being so strong in bed. Not that she cared about that.
Well, 'almost every girl' meant 'not everyone'. And Cindy was one included in 'not everyone'.
There was no doubt he was hot, but Cindy did not have any special thought about him, treating him as if he was like any other students she met at school. No, not like anyone, she distanced herself from him -from all famous people to avoid any unnecessary incidents happens to her.
Especially after she knew he had his own fan club and was known as the most ferocious fan girls, she dismissed his existence from her eyes.
It's better to avoid trouble, she said.
But, it seemed like her peaceful days would come to end after what had happened last night.
"Drink it. Don't worry, it's safe." His deep voice snapped her out of her daydreaming as he offered again, still with his warm and gentle smile. "I'll be in the kitchen if you need me. The bathroom is on your right." After saying that, he walked out and closed the door to the room again.
Cindy stared at the door for five seconds before she finally let out deep breath.
I'm done, she whispered while shaking her head slightly. There's no need to wait for them to know she was sleeping in their idols' apartment, the moment she walked out from the club with him would be enough to make her name written in their book of victims.
Jealousy and obsession are indeed dangerous, she thought.
After accepting her fate, she decided to drink what he had given to her. It was lemon and honey and it soothed her parched throat, eased her headache with the sweet smelling. The only thing she needed to do was to refresh herself. It was okay to use his bathroom, right? She felt awkward staying in the place where only boy lived. What if she saw or touched something that she shouldn't see or touch?
Fifteen minutes later, she walked out from his -surprisingly clean -bathroom. With her bare feet, she walked towards the living room but found Daniel was putting down the plates onto the dining table.
Noticing her steps, Daniel looked up and smiled gently when he caught sight of her. Her hair line was still damp and her face was bare from any make up. She looked fresh. She tied up her hair in a bun and strands of hair fell down and framed her face, creating a cute and innocent appearance. He fought the urge to approach her, pull her into his body, and kiss her.
Later, he promised to himself.
Cindy had no idea about the struggling, of course. She was standing in the hallway, looking at Daniel who looked so comfy in his kitchen. Why did she have the image of him being a good husband waiting for his drunken wife to wake up?
"You're just in time. Milk or juice?" He asked.
"Juice, thank you." Cindy answered slowly.
"Got it. Take a seat. I'll go get your juice." He said casually. "Oh, I'll take that." He approached her, reaching out to take the glass from her hand.
"Oh, thank you." She responded, sounded timid but she was just maintaining the distance between them.
That's right. She was keeping the wall between them, but he was thinking that she was adorable.
