Sofia walked to Cheng Ze and kissed him on his cheeks, "Goodnight daddy, I really want to go with you." she made a sad pouty face before she left them.
"Cheng Ze, what are you doing? Don't get yourself too attached to her. It's not gonna be good for her. You will be married soon and you, doing this doesn't help at all."
Cheng Ze stood up and walked to Ji An, "It's just a day out! Relax okay? I'm not taking her away from you." He placed his hands on her shoulder, "Hey! Look at me, Ji An." For a moment he was mesmerized with her annoyed face. He leaned towards her and kiss her forehead.
They stayed like that for about ten seconds until Ji An pushed him gently, "What are you doing? Why are you doing this?" she spoke softly with her eyes confused.
"Let me just take her out for one day. I'll bring her back before bedtime." He might have to change plans and go behind her back if she refused his plea.
To his surprise, she agreed with him. "Okay, but please call me. Can't I go with both of you?"
"Next time you come with us too, but on Saturday it has to be Sofia and me only. I really want to be close to her. I want to know her more. Even if I marry she will be a daughter to me. Don't worry, I won't disappoint her." He smiled so warmly towards Ji An.
She nodded in agreement, "Alright! Be home before her bedtime and make sure to feed her on time. And call me, let me know what's going on."
"Li Ji An..." he held her arms and stared at her beautiful eyes, "Can I hug you? Just this once! Please?" He sounded like he could do with a hug at that moment.
She didn't answer but something came unto her, lunge on him and hugged him tightly. She felt like crying as she hugged him like that. 'Why am I being like this?'
He was surprised by her sudden hug. But he didn't say a word, besides he liked it and hugged her tight as well. He smelt her hair, it smells good, "Ji An, did you know, even if I'm engaged to a different woman, you are the one I can't stop thinking about. You are the one I'm dreaming about every night."
Ji An moved, pushed him a little and looked up so she can see his face clearly, "Cheng Ze—"
"Hmm... You know, I want to kiss your lips before I go to work and when I arrive home I want to see you welcome me with open arms so I can kiss you again. Every day I want to do that with you." His face moved closer to hers.
"Cheng Ze... You shouldn't—"
"I know I shouldn't. But I can't stop myself." He finally sealed her lips with his.
Ji An closed her eyes and accepted his kiss wholeheartedly. She felt so comfortable and so relaxed in his arms. It was probably because she was tired, it felt like he lulled her to sleep. When he parted their lips and let her go, he noticed her eyes were shut. Her body felt lifeless, that's when he realised she's fallen asleep. He smiled as he didn't expect that at all. He was finally confessing to her somehow and she fell asleep like that. Cheng Ze carried her to her bedroom and put her to bed. He kissed her lips one more time and said goodnight.
Ji An woke up early and felt really refreshed. She really had a good sleep. As she yawned, she tried to recall her dream, 'Cheng Ze kissed me,' she touched her lips as she tried to remember how it felt. How soft his lips were. She felt like she was 13 years old Ji An. When she kissed him before, he was her first kiss. Though it's a simple kiss she felt his soft lips. In her dream, it's almost the same but their kiss was much more intimate and she felt his cool breath.
A knock on the door woke her up from her daydream. She rushed to the door and when she opened it, it was the man she was dreaming about. Her cheeks blushed,
Cheng ze smiled at her reaction. "What's wrong Ji An? Why are you blushing?"
"I'm not!" She went defensive almost instantly and turned her back on him. "Why are you here this early?"
"I just want to remind you, on Saturday I'm taking Sofia out, you didn't forget right?" He was actually there to test her if she remembers what happened last night.
"Yeah, I remember. I'm sorry that I fell asleep halfway through our conversation I was really tired last night."
He squinted his eyes a little and tilted his head, 'Does she remember I kissed her?' "About last night. Do you remember—"
"Is there something else we talked about? I'm really sorry all I remember was the talk about Saturday." She doesn't want to talk about it all, the embarrassment she felt stopped her from talking about it.
