Chapter 53 - Is Anna Really Married (1)

When Anna reached the lounge, It was a little crowded, all were men but none of them was a simple socialite or a party animal rather a murderous animal glint flow through their veins and their every move warned the other person to keep a distance from them.

She instantly stepped back and caught Aaliyah's wrist firmly, and warned her without looking at her eyes, "Aaliyah! We need to get out of this place, something is very wrong."

Anna looked at the direction of the bar where her other two friends who had no idea of what was happening outside were still stuck inside. 'What have I done, Is this the people Shane warned me? Sh*t! I have dragged them into my sh*t, sh*t! sh*t!!!'

The hold she had on Aaliyah's wrist strengthened even more, 'Will they let go of them all If I surrender myself!'

Aaliyah gaped at her wrist held by Anna, Aaliyah knew very well that it was a protective stance. Anna was protecting her although she knew very well that she won't stand a chance at survival.

Aaliyah gloated at Anna with admiration, 'She is the one!!! Indeed, She is the one who can lead us after Godmother. As Godmother said she is the desired one that we all need, Only she can be our true leader and guardian.'

A touch of tears welled up in Aaliyah's eyes amidst a warmth filled her heart. She stared back at the lounge filled with the loathing mercenaries, she looked at them with a challenge, 'Try to touch her, if you can.'

Aaliyah's eyes swept through the crowd and spotted five of her men are ready and poised for action. She nodded to them with a sign of appreciation.

The opposite crew got more than twenty men. Aaliyah's team were quick enough to tackle them and the possibility of winning was also high enough, still, it was a doubt that they could protect Anna at the end. Anna's Safety was the utmost priority having her in the middle of this crisis was definitely a drawback.

Jacob, on the other hand, remained stunned, 'Seems! It's not just company matters anymore who could send such a lot of men just to eliminate a teen girl. I must have missed something crucial from the very start.'

He became all sober and steadied himself ready to charge. His hands felt the guns which he hid behind his back as he marched forward and he held a shielding position.

His earlier suspicion on Aaliyah was all wiped out entirely when he discovered more wails and groans from girl's toilet. That must be Aaliyah cleaning the whim behind the back.

The poor bartender was also cleared out of the spot by the opposite party. Anna pulled her phone out to send a warning message to her other friends wondering what would have happened to them.

While everyone on the spot was anticipating a battle to broke out, the door pushed open and a series of armed men charged in. In the middle of them, Shane stood invincible followed by Anna's bodyguard and few more armed guards. The other men in the room started minding their own business as if it was any other normal day.

Shane's eyes swept through the whole space to find Anna. When his eyes landed on the girl, she was standing behind Jacob.

-----------

A while before...

When Kylie fled to report Anna's intention to sneak out of the campus, Shane was also seeking Anna to give her a couple pass. The night before he lingered in the party hall for a long time and the only thing that filled his mind was Anna.

He failed to find the reason why he acted irrationally in the college and hit the man who helped Anna. He knew full well that his manners towards him was not on the point but he couldn't help it. Seeing her with someone else made his soul burn, He had a strong urge to take her away and tie her next to him.

When he saw her cooking for him later, he would not help but divert himself to the business materials. The lone house with two of them discussing over business only ignited his soul.

In the end, to break free of the temporary emotional drive, he excused himself saying that he had a gathering to attend to. He reminded himself not to act out on emotional urge but to stay rational. If he acted out of an emotional drive the latter would only lead to disastrous for both their future.

When he returned home from the party, It was already three o clock in the morning. As late as it was, his eyes stayed open wide. At last, He smirked, "There goes! The lone wolverine tripped into the trap of a bunny."
