Anna noticed a man leaning against the old Chevrolet and staring right at her. She recognized that she somehow know that person but she could not recollect who he was and when she met him. She stared back at him intently forgetting the people around her.
He was far from where she was, Anna could not see the facial reactions of the man but she saw him waving at her.
Like a tiny little bug attracted towards the light, she paced towards him. when she got closer, she noticed his pearly teeth casting a vibrant smile at her and she wondered 'why is he beaming at me'.
Jacob noticed her confused face, his smile started to fade inch by inch, 'She forgot me... How silly I was... Wondering, why she had not called me! She doesn't even remember me.'
On close inspection, Anna realized, he was the man from the park who saved her, 'Yes! it is him! what is he doing here.'
"Jacob?!"
The smile which faded earlier started to blossom once again in Jacob's face, 'She does remember me, she really does call me by my name, I feel heavenly just because she still remember my name, How absurd this feel is, Damn!'
"Yes, Madam! how are you! you forgot to call me back. I was certainly waiting for your call..."
"My call?!"
"Forgot about Five hundred dollars already?!" 'She really did disregard everything I did, If I never show myself up today, she would have never called me ever.'
"Sorry?! I was quite busy with my recent work. So, I could not call you. I'll surely payback."
"Do you still have my number with you?" Jacob's question made Anna feel little guilt. She promised him several times that she will call him and return his money.
Jacob noticed her expression change when he questioned her, "Fine! Forget about it. Is this were you're studying?
"Yes, I am a fresher in the management department. If you don't trust me on paying back, you can contact the department to report. I'll definitely..."
Jacob Interrupted her, "What?! You don't have any money with you... Girl! you seem much poorer than me."
Anna cast her eyes down, though she lived a luxury life, there was no one to credit her account, she never voiced it to Shane because she was so used to it.
Shane never considered her as a human existence in his life, she always felt like an extra ornament in his house. Though she was an heiress, her status was nothing big compared to a house cleaner.
"I'll pay back, don't you worry!!" She voiced once again.
Jacob looked at her deeply, 'why is she so upset! she is an heiress, is she cannot even afford Five hundred bucks? something is very wrong?'
He felt a strong urge to take her with him and pamper her with everything that she deserved to have, "Anna! Is there something wrong?!"
When Anna was conversing with Jacob, Shane noted it from a distance, 'Who is she talking to. Haven't I told her not to talk to strangers?! so tiring with this girl.'
Shane moved forward quickly to Anna and he interrupted their small talk while marching towards them, "What are you doing here? What did I tell you in the morning."
Anna was jerked by the sudden voice. She glanced at Shane and immediately she dropped her gaze down and stared at the ground, 'Did he hear our conversation?! What if he did?!' "This mister helped me when I was lost in the park."
Jacob stared at the girl who was transformed upside down. She was so polite and inaudible, she looked like a maid waiting for orders to take down. On the other side, Shane looked more like a master ordering his maid to do some random task.
Jacob could not stand to watch this man's attitude. He had a strong impulse to snap his neck, 'You dare to talk to my girl with such an attitude. I'll make you pay a price.'
Shane glanced back at Jacob not at all considering the other as a human being, he mouthed out, "Thanks for your help."
