Raven: Artistic Boy!
Adam:.... You can stop calling me the, you know.
Clay walks over to me from the training grounds only this time, his face is cleaner. Hm, he's a fast learner.
Raven: There's no correcting me.
Adam: I know that.. Why did you need me?
Raven: There are only 4 days left for the mission, I don't want you to get any bruises on your face or elsewhere, be sure to train with caution.
Adam: I understand.
Raven: I won't be supervising you tomorrow, don't you dare slack off.
I instruct him in a stern tone and his shoulders jerk.
Adam: I-I won't, ma'am!
Hey, I'm not that scary alright. His cowardice is killing me.
Raven: You don't have to be so scared of me, it's irritating. Feel free to ask or tell me anything as long as it's not inappropriate.
Adam: Anything?
He looks at me with surprise.
Raven: Mmhm.
Is there something that he's been meaning to ask me?
Adam: T-Then can you tell me why you hide your left eye always?
Raven:..!
With all the despising gossips going on about me, he still doesn't know that I have two different coloured eyes? Those gossiping maids keep sticking to him and still didn't tell him anything, huh. That's unusual.
I chuckle despite myself and smirk at him. I don't care how hideous anybody thinks I am anymore.
Adam:..?
Raven: You'll know when it's necessary.
Let's see how long it takes him.
Lily: Raven!
Hm? I turn my head to see Lily walking towards me with a gentle smile on her face.
Raven: What is it?
Lily: Your gown for tomorrow's gathering is here! We just have to make some adjustments.
Already? I sigh and look back at Clay.
Raven: Don't forget what I said.
Adam: I won't!
He looks at me straight in the eye, determined. All can go well if he focuses on the mission. I've been blackmailing him to keep him focused. I know it's not the correct way to work things out, but that's the only thing that keeps him going.
I'm never the one to like to gossip but I'm really curious, what kind of a woman would make him abandon his hobby and train to gain a new profession instead? I feel a little jealous, maybe it's because I never had a dream.
I gave my all to become who I am today, to save my mother. But, there's no ways to be sure if she's still alive. It's been 11 years, if she's alive, they would've tortured her. My heart aches just thinking about it.
I don't why it all happened, I've tried to investigate it secretly but still found nothing. All I know is that I have to leave this place and save my mother and avenge my parents.
Leaving him to train some more, Lily and I head to get my dress fitting done. I open the door to the room and my eyes slightly widen. On the mannequin in front of me, hangs a beautiful emerald green gown with gold trimmings.
The embroidery on it is so detailed, it clearly says that it's very expensive. I've attended several parties acting as Jayden's companion over the years however, I still can't get used to this extravagant lifestyle.
If, if Clay fails, I'll have to adjust forever to this kind of life. I clench my fists tightly and get ready for the fitting. Clay, you have to succeed, I'm putting all my faith in you. Please....
