Mark began to shiver. He never thought such a carefully plotted plan could fail so badly. It took him 3 weeks to think about it. He never thought the output would be this negative.
It all started that day. The day Mark met him, was one of the worst ones for him. For someone who is instilled with a deep hatred for beautiful people, being saved by one of them resulted in his entire thought process to be contradicted. This might sound very simple and petty to any normal person but, for someone whose possesses a sternly embedded ego, it was almost similar to their world shattering into a billion tiny pieces, beyond the scope of restoration.
In pursuit of his long lost ego, he decided to take help from Wang Xiu, the only person to whom he talked to inside the otherwise classroom full of strangers. Wang Xiu was the daughter of the Ren family, to whom The Boss belonged to. Even though he was fully aware of this fact, it still could not prevent these two youngsters from becoming the best of friends.
Wang Xiu had a strangely contrasting personality to that of her brother. They both were delinquents but she was highly respected by her peers and even her teachers. Her aura represented her as a very accomplished leader whilst her brother had a bad reputation and was even suspended out of the college once or twice.
"Please help me Wang Xiu," Mark said as he bowed to greet her, following the custom.
"What do you need?"She asked him in a very stern but polite way.
"I need you to take revenge on my behalf."He said, with his eyes now bearing shots of lava, just like from a freshly erupted volcano.
"with whom? and what did he or she do to you?" she asked, in a seemingly interested manner.
"It's that new student. He keeps bothering me now and then and even took away my ancestral property. I need to get things straight and even retrieve the ring back."Mark explained.
"OK. I shall look into it. The new student you mean the Japanese guy, right?"Wang questioned Mark.
"Yes, it's him. He is the root cause of all my problems. Please help me if you can."Mark answered in desperation.
"However, I have one condition."Wang Xiu said, straightening her back against the chair.
"What would that be?"Mark asked.
"If he fails to make me happy on a date, he will be severely punished."Wang Xiu replied.
"It's up to you on how to handle things," Mark replied.
Today could be the perfect day. Mark was supposed to celebrate at this point but something was not right. His object of hatred stood injured but he could not feel satisfied as much as he expected to.
Somehow, somewhere in a corner, his heart was aching. He did not know why this was happening. Some corner of his heart started melting for this human. He no longer hated him...or was this simply basic human empathy? His mind was cluttered with a vast range of emotions, not knowing which is the true one. Eventually, his humanitarian side showed up and he said something which he did not wish to say.
"Let's go inside."
He dragged the subconscious Akio across the room.
He made him lie down on his bed and grabbed the first-aid kit. He hastily grabbed the bandages and tried to close the box but, it fell down.
"Now is not the time to think about cleanliness."
He undressed the man who lay beneath him, unconscious. The blood had already clot but the deep gash could be seen located just below the chest, at the beginning of the abdomen. He rubbed the antiseptic over the wound, which led to Akio groaning in pain. He wrapped the bandages in a frantic state of mind and rushed to call the landlady.
The landlady reached in no time. She called a doctor, who while examining Akio, noticed something strange.
"I do not want to scare you all, but the way he was wounded was not something petty bullies could do. It is due to a sharp object and could even prove fatal. I think you should inform the police as soon as you can, before landing into further trouble."The doctor said, with genuine concern.
"Will he be all right?"Mark asked.
"I have administered him a pain-killer injection. Let's hope that he becomes fine by tomorrow."After saying this, he left with the landlady, leaving Mark alone with the person who was fighting for his life, all due to him.
Would Akio be able to see the next sunrise? Will Mark ever forgive himself or would they both fall into deeper troubles?
