Birds began to chirp, even though it was still dark outside, Lacey had beaten the birds to the punch though.
She woke up at 4:55 AM on the dot.
By the time the birds roused themselves from their nests and began to preen their little feathers, Lacey had already walked to the corner of her bedroom and tried to gently wake up her pet cat Leroy.
Keyword tried.
Leroy was not pleased! He opened one eye and glanced in Laceys direction. She is still ugly, he thought to himself.
Sigh. I guess it's my job to watch out for the less fortunate creatures of the world, he mused to himself.
Slowly opening his other eye, Leroy begrudgingly got up. Turning towards the mirror behind himself above the makeup desk that he had commandeered as his personal fort, Leroy examined himself in the mirror.
"This girl, Ah she is truely lucky." Leroy mewed.
Such a handsome cat to accompany her, any female feline would be positively bursting with jealousy.
Lacey watched Leroy ogle at himself in the mirror yet again this morning. She had to take note of this
Reached over Leroys head, Lacey took out the pencil from behind her ear that she somehow had slept with, and marked a small chart pinned on the wall nearby the makeup mirror.
"This marks the 959th day in a row that you have woken up early in the morning to just look at yourself in the mirror Leroy. One thing I can say about you is that you are surely consistent in your over appraisal of yourself." Lacey announced in a monotone gender fluid voice.
Leroy ignored her again as he began to groom himself diligently in front of the mirror.
"Just because you look like a homeless cat doesn't mean I have to." Leroy mewed to her but again was not understood.
These humans sure are dumb, he thought to himself while cleaning his two white front paws.
Lacey glanced at the meowing Leroy for a moment before nodding her head silently.
While doing so she slid the pencil back behind her ear and walked over to turn the bedroom light on.
Once the light was on she trotted back over to the makeup desk in the corner of her room, and waited for Leroy to finish while she reached her hand out to pick up emerald green brush from beside him. She then commenced with brushing her hair, no emotion on her average olive skinned face.
Laceys light brown hair was thick and hard to comb through, despite it being naturally straight. Her eyes glanced at herself in the mirror, the brown iris's reflected themselves along with the rest of her image back to herself.
The bangs and fringe she had framed her face, and her hair was only long enough to go past her ears in the front, while it was quite shorter in the back. It could be a cute hairstyle if she smiled but Lacey didn't smile so it was deemed ugly by her peers, and secretly even her parents.
I wonder if Leroy ever has problems with his looks?
Lacey looked at Leroy, who was so smug with himself you'd think he was narcissus reicarnated, and then shook her head to dispel this thought. Leroy is just a cat afterall. What does he know about appearence struggles.
Squee!
Lacey turned her head to the other corner of her room and saw Cherry her pet hamster huffing and puffing with indignation with being forgotten again!
"That girl! This beloved hamster babygirl of yours is starving over here and you have the audacity to ogle that ugly old cat!" squeaked out the hamster loudly tear filled eyes glaring at her master "momma".
Lacey speed walks across the room her brush stuck in her hair as she had to itmeditely free her hands.
She had only had Cherry the hamster for about 6 months and she was still getting used to its presence, and occasional temper tantrums.
Opening the hamster cage, Lacey slipped her hand in and extricated Cherry the hamster out.
Lacey proceeded to pet her little chin in an attempt to assauge the little hamsters temper.
"Hmmph! About time momma. Your baby is hungry. Cheerios please!" The hamster squeaked out a little more forthcomingly than before.
"I'll get you some sunflower seeds now Cherry." Lacey said as she placed Cherry down on her bed bedside the hamster cage.
"Noooo! I want Cheerios! Listen to me mother! I will not grow a big chest at this rate!" The hamster howled at the top of her little rodent lungs at her master momma.
She didn't want to be stuck with ugly B cups like her mother!
Lacey did not know what her hamster was saying or else she'd probably spit blood in response to the harsh critique she received from the newest member of her family.
Cherry proceeded to jump up in down on the ugly bedspread beneath her in a fowl mood.
" Woh is me... cursed to be imperfect by my own master momma." Cherry squeaked out beginning to sob.
Lacey thought her hamster was suffering separation anxiety again. She's gonna have to take her to college classes again it looks like.
Hopefully Repstar doesn't try to eat her again... or better yet, hopefully her littlest cousin Macy wouldn't bring that terrible lizard to school again.
These thoughts assailed poor Lacey as she bent down to offer some sunflower seeds to Cherry.
Cherry:" Hueeeee, Uewaghhhh!" As she bitterly and teary eyed eats her sunflower seed breakfast with a miserable expression on her little orange and white furred face.
Needless to say, later that very day, Lacey did indeed yet again not get her wish granted.
