Su Lin choked on her water, spitting out or rather spraying out the contents of her mouth.
A monumental sum of money was staring at her face!!
"How the heck is my empty bank account suddenly flush with money?? That too… so much of it!!!" Su Lin's eyes flew wide in surprise.
She grabbed Runyan sitting next to her and pointed to the screen with a dumbfounded expression.
"This… See this." She stammered.
"Oh my God. How? What?" The next second Runyan gave the exact same expression Su Lin had on her face.
The two ladies sat frozen like statues next to each other deliriously happy when suddenly a phone call interrupted their stupor.
"Hello, child. You haven't sent the accountant your bank details yet?" Grandpa Su ended up calling Su Lin since she hadn't responded to him in a while.
"Ah~ That… Grandpa… Instead of cash, could you help me lease a small shop for selling my products?"
Su Lin's mind wheels spun fast and she blurted out the next item on the to-do list after acquiring sufficient funds.
"Huh?" Grandpa Su was surprised. He rubbed his small beard and thought about her suggestion.
"Ah, sorry child. I completely didn't think about that. It must be difficult for you to get a lease without enough background support."
"We actually have a building open in the hospital district currently. One of our own… Hmmm."
Grandpa Su then removed the phone from his ear and gave a shout out to Su Han sitting next to him.
"Little Han is it still open and available for leasing?"
Su Han coughed at the unfavored nickname. "Ahem. Ahem. Grandpa! Please don't call me little Han! Yes, it is still open. I am supposed to finalize the plans for it by the end of this month."
Grandpa Su ignored his rebellious protest. "Perfect then. Thanks, little Han. Leave it just like that. Su Lin will use it from now on."
"Is that okay with you dear?" The old man hopped back on the phone and asked Su Lin.
"Ah. Yes. Thanks, Grandpa." Su Lin answered absent-mindedly her mind still reeling from the shock of her upgraded bank account.
"Ok child. It's settled then. Don't get confused by too many things."
"Start slow and this old man will help you grow into a big company."
Grandpa Su chuckled at the earnestness of the young woman and hung up the phone.
Only when she placed the phone down, she suddenly realized where that money could have come from.
A familiar devil's image popped up in her brain and with it their last encounter.
She could still feel the man's piercing eyes trying to swallow her wholly.
Somehow, even though she knew that she should be feeling happy about his generous gesture and how the man genuinely wanted to repay her kindness, she only ended up fuming in anger.
"Hmph. This is the least he could do after taking advantage of me." She scoffed and closed her laptop screen.
She tried to change the mood and grabbed Runyan next to her and shook her hard. "Yay yay!! We got our office space too!"
The two jumped up and down in joy and headed out to have lunch in a nice place and celebrate a little.
The duo kept themselves busy the next few days as they meticulously worked hard and finished the various procedures for opening up a registered cosmetic company.
Su Lin even prepared a few extra samples to display and showcase their products.
By the time, they were almost done and ready to open, Grandpa Su as well paid them a surprise visit to wish Su Lin good luck.
She might be brimming with excitement and enthusiasm, but Grandpa Su knew full well the difficulties and struggles involved in entering the cosmetic industry.
The beauty industry is an age-old one. There are several established brands and popular products.
People tend to trust and use the more popular brands repeatedly.
Even theories like "Changing the brands often will damage your skin" are commonly mainstream opinions.
Forget about international brands, even the local ones are difficult to compete with.
Even if she was going with the "completely organic and natural" trademark branding, it's still difficult to enter an already over-saturated market.
Hmmm… Grandpa Su was trying really hard to think of his next few words …
He actually came here to suggest something but he really didn't want to disappoint her.
At the same time, he didn't want to just let her fall flat on her face and fail.
"Ahem… Su Lin… How about focusing on the medicinal aspects also along with the cosmetic stuff?"
The old man hesitantly suggested after looking around the neatly organized shop interiors.
