Shi Meng's office was on the 15th floor of the Meng Industries headquarters building.
It had transparent glass walls and was decorated in a very stylish and sophisticated manner, while still giving out a simple vibe.
But right now, this elegant and modern office was akin to a lion's den, and his employees shuddered to step inside.
After his confrontation with Su Lin, Shi Meng was extremely angry and agitated.
He had never been humiliated like this before and that random woman, without any background or education, made a complete fool out of him.
It infuriated him to know that he was fooled by someone like her.
Even Shi Meng's capable assistant Yang, was unsure as to how to deal with this situation.
His boss was quite different from the other young masters managing their companies. To put it more accurately, his boss was sometimes like a small child...
Yes... a small child...
He liked to win. And that's all there was to it.
Maybe partly the old madam was to blame for this, for spoiling her son too much, but sometimes, certain people are just born this way, very materialistic and goal-oriented.
If there was one thing, Shi Meng hated more than anything else, it was to lose in something.
And now Su Lin had run all over him and trampled his ego. So the man was going crazy with anger.
But, thankfully, assistant Yang immediately made the right decision and informed the old madam about the recent events. After all Mama Meng knew her son the best.
She, of course, understood the gravity of the situation and immediately rushed to the office headquarters.
Under the awkward eyes of the nearby employees, mama Meng opened the door and barged in straight-ahead bravely.
"Xiao Meng. Mom just made some of your favorite chocolate cream cake. Here have some."
Shooting grimacing looks at his assistant, Shi Meng scowled and brashly replied, "Mom, now is really not a great time. Please, I will meet you at home in the evening."
"Ok let mom give you a good head massage. Come here."
"Mom, please", Shi Meng replied still frowning.
"I am not taking no for an answer Shi Meng", mama Meng slightly raised her voice.
"Ughh. Fine. Fine. Let's just get this over with. I have work to do."
"It didn't look like you were working just now?" Mama Meng cautiously probed.
"....."
"I don't understand why you are getting so angry over this small issue."
So many people have tried to worm their way into our family nest and one snake has gotten through the defenses. So what is the big deal?"
Mama Meng continued massaging his head and consoling him. She knew that her son hated to lose more than anything.
"....."
"Stop worrying about this nonsense already. She was nothing and a nobody before. She is nothing and a nobody now."
"I never had a good opinion about that woman and you know I have always been against having her at home."
"So just consider this as a good opportunity and finally get an official divorce! For god's sake, it is high time we get rid of that two-faced bitch from our house."
Mama Meng used this golden opportunity to vent out all her anger and tried to convince Shi Meng about the obvious right thing to do in this situation.
Nodding in agreement, Shi Meng as well calmed down a bit and absent-mindedly nibbled on his chocolate cake.
Seeing that the storm had passed, Assistant Yang kowtowed and thanked the old madam profusely.
Shi Meng definitely looked like he was in a better mood.
But in reality, the chocolate cake had nothing to do with it. It was just that his mother had given him a particularly good idea.
So the man stopped seething in anger and started working on his plot to bring down Su Lin and her criminal associates.
The Lan family were currently his main competitors. They typically used underhanded methods in all their business dealings and were always one or two steps ahead of Shi Meng.
Now that he thought about it, Su Lin working with them, and sharing with them his personal details made perfect sense.
That could very well explain how they always came up with a better quote price and more inclusive project proposals.
With a pensive look on his face, Shi Meng gazed at the empty wall in front of him for a long time. He then picked up his phone and started making calls.
Shi Meng was directly informing the media that they were divorced, without actually getting a divorce.
"Sir, but we need young madam's signature and cooperation as well for a smooth divorce. And that... that ... your grandfather's will..." Yang stammered and hesitantly reminded Shi Meng about an important issue.
"I know what I am doing. She doesn't know about the will. Don't bring it up again." Shi Meng barked at him.
But for some reason, assistant Yang had a bad ominous feeling... Divorce was usually a very messy affair. And to go about it like this...?
