Chapter Three: Video Call
Taehyung's POV
"Tae! Tae! Wake up! We're here!"
I was woken up by a shaking in my shoulder.
"Huh? What?" I absentmindedly asked as I tried to open my eyes.
"Wake up now. We have arrived now at the restaurant"
I nodded at Hoseok-hyung.
I must have fallen asleep. I sighed and went out from the van.
We just came from performing in America Got Talent. And since today is Namjoon-hyung's birthday, we decided to celebrate it in a restaurant near the hotel we we're staying.
As I walk in the restaurant, a waiter guided me to the second floor, which is private so that no fans will be taking pictures on us.
As I arrived, all of the staffs, managers, make-up artists and my members, are already sitting at the tables assigned to them.
"Taehyung! Come sit here!"
Jimin called me while pouting the seat between him and Jungkook. I walked over and sat.
"Seriously? You don't have to do this!" Namjoon-hyung exclaimed as he shrunk on his sit.
"Shut up Namjoon! You're not paying anything so let us be!" Seokjin-hyung shouted at him.
Namjoon-hyung look so annoyed right now. He really doesn't want to throw a party on his birthday but everyone of us push this thing though.
"Here's the cake! Now let's sing a Happy Birthday to Namjoon!"
Our manager said as he put the cake in front of Namjoon-hyung. We started singing to him and he started smiling widely at us. Hoseok-hyung is taking a video while singing along with us while Jungkook, being the hyper one was singing loudly then us.
"Blow your candles now, Namjoon!" Yoongi-hyung shouted when we finished singing.
Namjoon-hyung smiled and closed his to make a wish before blowing the candles.
We all cheered and one by one, we give our gifts to him.
"Thank you guys for throwing this party for me!" Namjoon-hyung said.
"Wow, earlier you we're bubbling not to have a party and now your thanking us? You're really is something"
All of us laughed at what our maknae said.
"Yah! Have some respect you idiot"
Jungkook just rolled his eyes at Namjoon-hyung earning a smack from the older.
"That's enough you two. Let's now eat because I'm already starving from our performance earlier"
We all agreed at Seokjin-hyung and we started eating.
But as I'm in the middle of my eating, I remember something.
I took out my phone and send a message to Sooyoung.
To: Sooyoung 💜
Where are you now?
After I send a message, I started eating while still eyeing my phone.
My phone buzzed. I read the message.
From: Sooyoung 💜
We're on our way to our dorm. How about you? Are you already at your hotel?
I can't help but to smile at her reply.
To: Sooyoung 💜
No. We're here at a restaurant near our hotel to celebrate Namjoon-hyung's birthday.
I clicked the send button.
Ever since the day we celebrate Sooyoung and Jungkook's birthday together, I keep sending messages to Sooyoung which I'm glad she'll reply. At first I thought that she'll think it's creepy but I'm wrong. She says it's okay and I also think we're getting closer than before now which is a good thing.
My phone buzzed again.
From: Sooyoung 💜
Oh right. I forgot that today's Namjoon-oppa's birthday! Please greet him for me and my members. Pleaseeeeeee!!!!! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏
I smiled and turn my head to Namjoon-hyung who is busy eating.
"Namjoon-hyung.... " I called.
"Hmm?"
"Red Velvet said Happy Birthday"
He nodded and look at me suspiciously.
"You're texting Sooyoung again?"
I just smiled cheekily at him.
"Video call her!" Jimin said.
I purse my lips in a thin line and shook my head.
"Why not?"
I scratched the back of my head and look away.
"Yah! Taehyung! Why can't you video call her?"
Jimin asked as he shake my arm.
"Aish! I just can't okay?"
"Why can't you?"
"Just because!"
"Come on! Tell me!"
"No!"
"Tell me!"
"No!"
"Then call her!"
"I can't"
"Then why can't you!"
Both of us stopped when we received a flicked in the forehead from Seokjin-hyung.
"Yah! Both of you stop shouting in front of the foods! And Jimin stop bugging Taehyung to call Sooyoung! It's obvious that he's shy to see her"
My eyes widened at Seokjin-hyung while Jimin was smirking at me.
"Our Taehyung is shy!" Hoseok-hyung shouted and they started teasing me.
I feel myself blushed. It's true that I'm shy to video call Sooyoung that's why I just send messages to her.
"I didn't know that you know how to be shy hyung!"
I glared at Jungkook.
"Just call her Taehyung!" Yoongi-hyung said.
I was about to answer him when my phone buzzed indicating that I received a message. Our table became quiet and eyed my phone.
I quickly opened it.
From: Sooyoung 💜
Can I video call you? We wanted to greet Namjoon-oppa properly. If that's okay?
My phone almost fell from my hand as I stared widely and mouth hang open at the message.
Did I read it right or I'm just hallucinating?
"Taehyung! It's Sooyoung right? What did she said?"
I gulped and look at Hobi-hyung.
"She wants me to video call her" I whispered.
Everyone was silent at first not until Jimin began shouting an cheering and the others followed.
"What are you waiting for? Call her!" Namjoon-hyung said.
"B-but I'm n-nervous" I stuttered.
"Don't be nervous! Just be yourself! And besides, we're here to back up you!" Hobi-hyung said.
I nodded and found myself video calling Sooyoung.
My breathed stop when Sooyoung's beautiful face appeared on the screen.
"Anhyeong!"
My heart pounded in my chest as I saw her smile and hear her voice.
I nervously smiled.
"Anhyeong!" I greeted.
"Where's Namjoon-oppa?"
I fake a gasped and touch my chest. I act like I was hurt.
"Ouch! Why do you look for Namjoon-hyung when you already saw my handsome face? Do you perhaps like him?"
Her eyes widened and shook her head.
"Yah! I'm looking for him because it's his birthday not because I like him!"
She yelled. Her cheeks puffed and is tinted with pink.
I show my boxy smile. "I'm just kidding"
She playfully rolled her eyes on me which I find cute.
"Arasseo. I'll call Namjoon-hyung"
But before I could call Namjoon-hyung, everybody is now on my back trying to get themselves in the screen.
"Anhyeong noona!" Jungkook greeted followed by everyone.
"Anhyeong! Namjoon-oppa, happy birthday!"
"Thank you Sooyoung. By the way, where are the other members?"
"They're all asleep. Look"
She put her screen on the other members who are sleeping. They're in a van.
"Why aren't you sleeping?" Seokjin-hyung asked.
"I just don't feel sleeping. Don't worry oppa, I'll sleep once we arrived at our dorm. Oh! We already arrived! I'm sorry but I have to end the call now"
She pouted.
I shook my head. "It's okay. Make sure you sleep well, hmm?"
She nodded. "Yes, oppa. Bye"
"Bye" we chorused before the screen became blank.

Until we came back from the restaurant, my smile couldn't be worn off from my face.
I'm already laying on my bed, staring at the ceiling and kept imagining her face.
"Taehyung, I know you're happy but please go to sleep now. We still have to wake up early tomorrow."
Namjoon-hyung told me as he settled himself on his bed.
"Okay, hyung"
I said and turn off the lampshade. That night, I sleep with a smile on my face.
