When Huang Zu who was in Jiangxia received the news, he was surprised and then angered by the audacity of Lie Fan and his Army, because they chose to attack his domain which was under him for so long, long before Liu Biao became the Governor of Jing Province, so he felt that his reputation was tarnished so he ordered his navy to attack Lie Fan's Navy and his army to go forward to show the might of Huang Zu's Army and Navy to Lie Fan.
Under Huang Zu's order, his army and navy began to head out in full force, and Huang Zu also asked for reinforcements to Liu Biao after being advised by his advisor, since the might of Lie Fan's Army was famous across the land.
After the letter asking for reinforcement was sent, Huang Zu led his army and navy to launch a counterattack on Lie Fan's army and navy, since they had penetrated the Jiangxia Commandery perimeter and began to enter in full force.
The clash between Lie Fan's Army and Huang Zu's Army began in a town named Xiyang, where Huang Zu's Army managed to reinforce the town before the arrival of Baihu and Xuanwu Army.
Seeing that Huang Zu knew about their presence, Zang Hong and Chen Deng began to change their strategy of the stack which at first relied on their number and more experienced soldiers to strategically swarm the target.
Now they changed to a more normal paced attack, hitting areas of weak points that the enemies showed. So the battle of Xiyang started, Dian Wei and Fang Yledead the vanguard directed the soldiers to raise the siege ladders.
Zhang Chao directed the engineers to create their siege engine, which was the battering ram and also the Hwacha alongside the ballista, to break through the gate and shoot the enemy soldiers on top of the wall.
Huang Zu's Army at Xingyang Town was led by Huang Zu's youngest son Huang Chao, who was known to have the strength of 5 Ox and could lift large boulders, but he had a downside which he had a simple brain or more like a big boy at the age of 10.
Huang Zu at first doesn't want to send their youngest son out, because he is afraid that he will be fooled by the enemies but he is persuaded by his advisors after being told that Dian Wei who was one of Lie Fan's strongest generals was one of the leaders of the army attacking them.
Hearing that he finally sent Huang Chao out accompanied by one of his advisors to help Huang Chao direct his army, so right now Huang Chao was standing on top of the wall with Huang Zu's advisors overlooking the battle.
Huang Chao saw Dian Wei who was leading the battle and his simple mind began to have him hyped up to fight against Dian Wei because he could see that Dian Wei was a powerful opponent.
The battle at Xingyang was ongoing, on the Yangtze River both Huang Zhong and Lu Jun finally clashed with Huang Zu's Navy force not just the patrols, the size of Lie Fan's navy ship surprised Huang Zu's main navy force.
While they're surprised, Hwacha begins to be shot repeatedly by Huang Zu's Navy with virulence being shot when Lie Fan's many enter a close range, which causes chaos among the ranks of Huang Zu's navy.
Huang Zu's Navy commanders tried to appease their men while also being scared by the weapons that Lie Fan's Navy had, the surprise brought by the Hwacha and the addition of the fireplace brought advance to Huang Zhong and Lu Jun in controlling the pace of the battle.
Huang Zu's navy had the edge in the experience in Naval battle, but due to the new technology used by Lie Fan's Navy caused them to have technology shock, and the sounds from Hwacha were like a tribulation from heaven.
So the battle was raging on both land and sea, and this became a stalemate for a while which was what was planned by Chen Deng, Liu Ba, and Zang Hong to completely direct the focus of all forces in the land to this battle at Jiangxia.
True to their plan, all forces in the land completely focused on the battle on Jiangxia Commandery, and the news slowly went north passing through Yuan Shao's domain before reaching Gongsun Du.
When Gongsun Du heard the news of Lie Fan's attack on Liu Biao, his heart finally put down and was at ease while his advisors all rejoiced and told Gongsun Du that it was in line with what they said to him in the past.
Gongsun Du nodded his head and ordered his navy to lower the intensity of the patrol on the strait, unbeknownst to him that this would backfire badly for him shortly as this allowed Lie Fan's Navy to have a successful speedy landing on his domain.
So several weeks passed by in the blink of an eye, and the world welcomed a new year where festivities were going on across the land, even the battle on Jiangxia commander that was put at stalemate was put on hold for the soldiers to enjoy the new year.
Unbeknownst to everyone, in Changyang County hundreds of ships were being boarded by hundreds of thousands of Lie Fan's soldiers in turn, Lie Fan was watching all of this happening alongside his advisors, Gan Ning, and his bodyguard.
Lie Fan: "Xingba, do you think the weather is good for sailing today?"
Gan Ning: "Yes My Lord, while the weather in Changyang was a bit windy and showing signs that it would rain, on the strait the weather was clear and the water was calm, that was reported by my scouts that I sent beforehand."
Lie Fan: "Okay that's good, as long as the water is calm then the soldiers will have lower chances of being seasick, Gongda are our supplies ready?"
Xun You: "It was being boarded to the supply ship My Lord, everything was in pristine condition and I prioritized for the potatoes to go first as it could make the soldiers full and could last long."
Lie Fan: "I agree with this, put some buns and meats also to balance the nutrition they earn. Wenhe, how is the situation in Jiangxia? Why were they in a stalemate for several weeks?"
Jia Xu: "It was their plan, My Lord. They make it a stalemate so that the focus of the entire land is truly on the battle in Jiangxia, so we can attack Gongsun Du without any notice."
Lie Fan: "Hah... Alright then, inform them that they should tell us about some minor changes they made in the plan, and tell them to fasten the attack because I'm afraid that Cao Cao will take advantage at any moment."
Jia Xu gave his agreement and copied his hand, leaving Lie Fan's side to write the letter to inform Chen Deng, Liu Ba, and Zang Hong of what Lie Fan had just said, in a more subtle and friendlier way to not put much weight on them.
With that topic ended, everyone was watching the men silently boarding the ships, and when it was full and ready to set sail for the first wave of the attack on Gongsun Du, Lie Fan, and his main battalion boarded his personal Treasure Ship.
The first wave of the attack consists of Taishi Ci and the Zhuque Army alongside Lie Fan and half of the Qilin Army, while Zhang Liao and the other half. of the Qilin Army will become the second wave of the attack.
This is to trap the area in the middle since there will be no news that can enter or exit from there since they were pitted from both sides, where Zhang Liao will land with his army.
The Ships began to set sail under Gan Ning's lead, from Changyang County toward Linyu County was 4 days while toward Xiangping County took 1.5 days, so when they entered the strait, the navy began to split into two with one under Gan Ning's leadership and the other under Lie Fan's leadership heading toward their landing location.
Along the way, they encounter several of Gongsun Du's ships that were shot down using the Hwacha and leave no survivor, which was an act of mercy for them rather than having them floating in the sea.
Lie Fan and his army were the first ones to arrive at their designated location, which was a fishing village that was far from other towns and villages, Lie Fan was the one who chose this location after looking through the Vision Map when they planned the attack.
The people of the village were shocked and scared by the sudden arrival of numerous big ships, filled with many soldiers who got down from the ships and many began to fear for their lives some even began to run for their lives.
Lie Fan ordered his men to capture the villagers who tried to run away, and after collecting all the people of the village Lie Fan then explained to them that he and his army would not do any harm to them, but in return, they had to stay in the village and never come out unless going to the sea to fish.
The Village Chief immediately agreed to Lie Fan's request but then told Lie Fan that if they couldn't go out, they couldn't buy the daily necessities and supplies that the villagers needed, which they traded with the fish they caught with the rest being sold.
Chen Gong on the side whispered to Lie Fan that they could trade with the villagers, maybe they didn't have all the necessities and supplies needed by them but this could increase his prestige in You Province, especially Liaodong Commandery.
Lie Fan felt that this was a a good idea and told Village Cjief what Chen Going had suggested, the Village Chief thanked lIe Fan for this and promised that he would keep an eye on the villagers, as long as Lie Fan upheld his promise to not harm the other villagers.
Lie Fan gave his promise and soon left the area, now Lie Fan needed to wait for Taishi Ci and the Zhuque army for their landing when he received the information from him then he could begin the assault as they needed to attack at almost the same time, so with that Lie Fan waited in the fishing village for 2.5 days before the letter form Bu Zhi arrived.
