Aiden Joseph Carter walks out and ignored a misterious woman whom he just talked to. The woman has a golden hair which touches the floor, glowy and smooth skin, rounded blue eyes, high-bridged nose, slim body structure, and a five-six feet tall. Her golden fitted off-shoulder gown matches her hair. Same length, same color.
He froze in the middle of the aisle when he felt a strong energy beside him -- it was like a thunder that would burn his entire body, it came from the woman's hand. Luckily, he was not the one who got burned, the sound of a broken vase covers the place.
Who is this woman and what does she need to this young man? He turned his back to face the woman with a shocked look. Trembling with fear.
Gathered all his strength to say something. "Why... why did you do that? What do you want?" Irritation can be seen to woman's face because of Aiden's attitude. She doesn't know what do this guy has to act like this.
"You know what I want, Aiden Joseph Carter," the woman said with an authority on her voice. "So, choose, you will go out in this palace wearing a disgusting look or you will accept my mission reserved for you, alone?"
His mouth slightly opened unwillingly because of what he heard, Aiden wanted none of those choices. Unsure why of all people living in this planet, he was chosen by this unknown woman a few days ago. Annoyance filled his soul as the woman forces him every now and then.
"Why do I need to do that sh*tty mission?!"
A silly smile flashed on the woman's face while stroking her hair. "What do you think?"
"Wait, Miss Adelaide. You brought me here few days ago, right? I haven't heard any reason from you of why do I need to do that. So, please, whatever it is, find another person to do that."
"Opps, no, no, no," Adelaide answered while waving her index finger left and right. The woman's answer made Aiden's shoulders dropped. Frustration, irritation, and having no idea about what is happening is evident on his face. "Just do it and, you'll be free."
"Free, huh?" Aiden wore a grimace face, totally aware that even the mission's done, freedom is still not on his hands because of a certain reason he does not want to talk about. "Fine."
He can't accept the fact that he decided to accept the crazy woman's mission. Well, what can he do if the woman has a power and he has nothing but himself? He walked out stomping and left Adelaide grinning.
"You won't regret this, Aiden Joseph Carter. You'll definitely enjoy and love this mission."
A strong wind covered the place and with it, Adelaide is gone.
On the other hand, Aiden locked himself in the room given to him by Adelaide. Until now, he doesn't have an idea why he was here in the first place. But, it is not that important right now, what he wants is to finish the mission as soon as he can to go back to where he really belongs. He wanted to go back to his mansion and be with the only thing alive in it --- Aki, his persian cat.
"I was living in peace then all of a sudden, Adelaide ruined it," he whispered frustratingly. "Well, as long as I'm living in a paradise like this, this is going to be great."
"Aiden."
"What the hell?!" He was surprised that he immediately rise from his bed when Adelaide popped beside him. Looking displeased but, still asked her, "What do you need?"
"Here." Adelaide showed him a picture. "Find her. You know what's next." With a strong wind, she vanished.
Aiden brushed his messed up hair with pressure caused by the unwelcomed wind left by Adelaide.
He studied the face of the girl on the picture, trying to think if he met her already or not.
He flopped down on the soft bed and looked at the ceiling, processing all the phenomenon happening on his life. If before, he is just sitting on a beautiful couch and depending to the money he receives from his relatives and to his cards he has, now, totally a different scenario. He has a mission to accomplished. Not just an ordinary mission, it is an important and magical mission.
In a wooden table beside his bed, he decided to keep the picture on top of it. Still thinking what would his life be after the mission. He doesn't know, but, no more backing out. He already agreed on it and he should stand on his word.
Even though he wonders how it happened that Adelaide has a power, he decided to set aside his curiosity for the mission. Tomorrow is the day for him to do the mission outside the palace. He can't wait to be in his true home.
"I'll find you," he mumbled before closing his eyes to sleep.
Adelaide is watching him using a hidden camera sticked on the ceiling of Aiden's room. She is smiling from ear to ear.
She opened the drawer of her table and took out something. When she saw it, she rest her back on her chair.
Dust covered the entire thing, she wiped it with her finger and smiled when she saw it clearly. "Sooner or later it will happen, Roman. Are you excited?" She said with a smile while looking directly on the picture.
She stared for a few seconds before putting it back to its place. Turning her eyes to the the window which displays the garden of her palace. The palace is built on the ground but in the middle of the forest and also, it is hiding behind an illusion of a beautiful waterfalls.
She snapped three times and a golden treasure chest floats on the air. She went near to it and knelt and bowed down to give respect.
Slowly and carefuly, she put it on his soft palms. She smiled sweetly.
"I've waited too long for this day."
She walked down back to her chair while keeping the golden treasure chest safe and secured on her hands. After sitting down, Adelaide looked at it with amazement. "Beautiful."
There is a red string tied on it. A blinding light came out of the chest as she opened it causing her to closed her eyes. When the light's gone, she looked at it. Cautiously remove the object in it and placed it on his left palm.
"Soon enough you will be on other hands," she began. "I hope she will not take you for granted."
"Don't worry, I know she won't."
"Roman? Are you here, Roman?" There was an eagerness and longing to Adelaide's question. "Roman! Please talk to me."
She never heard again Roman's voice. Tears started to stream down on her rosy cheeks. It is so warm. Adelaide wiped it using her right hand.
"I want to hear your voice again," she said, still sobbing while looking on her left palm. Even though Adelaide knew that it would take years, again, to hear Roman's voice, it didn't gave her a reason to stop hoping. Everyday of her life, she is patiently waiting to hear his voice, however, none of the days passed made her happy until today.
Adelaide fixed herself. She glanced to the monitor which displays a man named Aiden. Aiden just woke up and currently staring blankly on the wall.
She teleported to Aiden's room while having the golden treasure chest resting on her arms.
"Hey."
"What?"
Adelaide chuckled to Aiden's irritated look. Aiden was not startled at all to Adelaide's uninvited presence, maybe because he felt the wind coming.
"Here. Take this."
"What's this?" His forehead creased and extend his right arm to accept the golden treasure chest.
"Open it."
Aiden opened it and the blinding light came out again. "Damn it."
"What's this? Medicine? For what? I'm not sick, you know," he asked confusingly.
Adelaide patted his nape with a slight force, he complained. "Yes, you're right that you're not sick at all. That's not for you, you know."
"So, this is for whom?"
Adelaide smiled and sat down on the edge of the bed while Aiden leaned on the headboard. "For the girl in the picture. Those medicine tablets are powerful. Whoever drinks it, it will turn their dream to a reality by simply thinking about it, but, there's a limit. You two should explore more about those tablets, besides you will be joining to every journey of that girl's life. The difference is that you will have different faces."
"Isn't it better if I will use this? I will make myself richer, in that way, I don't really need to work hard to earn money."
Adelaide crossed her arms over her chest and gave Aiden a sullen glance. "No. You will be the guide."
"Whatever."
Before Adelaide left, she warned Aiden. "She must not know anything about who you are."
"What? How come she won't know me? Remember, I will give her this thing," he was pissed off. Aiden didn't understand what Adelaide wanted to tell him. How did he ended up in this kind of situation?
"You'll know when you met her," Adelaide giggled and left. Aiden thought that Adelaide is completely away from him, but he heard her voice in his huge room.
"Your mission starts now."
"Seriously?! Now?!" He frustratedly pulled out his hair then fixed it again. Adelaide is grinning from her table while watching the young man's childish tantrums.
"Goodluck, Aiden Joseph Carter."
