Math is the beginning of everything we have in our world, agriculture, science, bad grades, etc.
The history of math is almost as old as the human race itself. It all started when a guy wanted to know how many apples he had. Then it slowly evolved into something more, something that shaped the world around us.
I'm sure you, the person reading this, knows what 1+1 is, if you don't, you should be ashamed of yourself. 1+1 is the basic manipulation of numbers, just like 2+2 or 2 x 4. This is also widely known as the global phenomenon called arithmetic.
The Arabic number system is the number system that we use today. Before this was introduced, converting money from country to country took way too long. Imagine trying to subtract XXVII from CXXXXIV. Not so easy huh? The Arabic number system made everything so much easier, so instead of using those fancy roman numerals that didn't even have 0, the Indian number system used 144-27. This of course, like many other new things that get introduced, brought up a lot of problems, but I'm not going to talk about it since it has nothing to do with math.
Anyways, the most important contributors to math were the Greeks. If not for them, we probably wouldn't have phones and stuff yet.
Did we invent math or merely discover it?
Great question, in my opinion, we discovered it. We never really invent new things, we just find new ways to apply the things we already know. (isn't that inventing though?)
The discovery of math has brought many changes to the human world. It has helped the development of science, technologies, and most importantly.....
BAD GRADES
TL;DR?
Math helped us do things like counting apples and stressing people out.
