That key could be put on hold for a long time! She wanted to have a better life so she opened her heart. These new people that wanted her in their life made Ember feel special. They were people she could go to or talk to when she needed or wanted to. It felt nice to be wanted.
Ember didnt find any jobs she was interested in in the newspaper. Instead, she looked online. She found 3 jobs that best suited her and they were all office jobs. The pay was enough to get her through.
Out of the three there was Lin Group, which deals in finance, the Gi group which deals with modeling and fashion, and the Kay Group which deals with packaging and delivering.
'A woman should obviously choose Gi Group but I'm not an ordinary woman!'
In the end she put in a resume for the Gi Group and was told they'd get back to her soon.
Ember sighed. 'What a world..' She snickered.

Doctor Jay had just finished work and was about to head home.
"Hey Doctor Distant!" Tia smiled at him.
He politely waved. "Hello Tia."
"So...when are you and Ember going on a date?"
"A-a date?" His eyes widened. He had just met Ember a couple days ago. "We're just friends."

Doctor Jay shook his head and chuckled. Sure, he liked Ember a little but that wasn't enough to start dating. He also wanted to get and know her first. When he arrived home he laid on his bed and messaged her.
'Hey' He types and sent.
'Got of off work?' She replied seconds later.

'How was it?'
'Well, there weren't any more violent acts. My headache is gone too.'

'Did you fine a job?'
'Yes I did! Gi Cooperation.'

Jay thought hard. Then the memory of Ember eating the piece of toast like a mouse popped into his head. 'Your nickname is now mouse.'
'Eh that's not too bad.'
'It's the best I could do.'
'Wait...is it because I'm fat?'
'You're not fat! You just eat like a mouse and your eyes are deep and dark and endless like a mouse's.'
'I don't know whether to take that as a compliment or insult but for you sake I'll count it as a compliment. THANKS!'
'Haha you're certainly welcome.'
I'm tired so I'm gonna go to bed. Have a good night.'
'You too.' Jay smiled as he put his phone on the charger and fell asleep.

'I'm off work.'

'My headache can't be any worse.'

'Tomorrow is my day off, you should treat me to coffee.'

They ended up setting a date and time. Ember sighed and smiled. She was so happy to have made friends. Like a 14 year old girl buying a new pair of shoes. She closed her eyes and fell asleep. Ember dreamed good dreams.
