Chapter 601: Oblivion (2)

Translator: _Leo_ Editor: Kurisu

The hole retracted and disappeared like a closing mouth. The area around the hole also sank into the darkness.

'This is the… dimension shadow? Why am I here?'

Angele only had a head left. It was now floating in the void.

'The dimension shadow is endless. I don't think the time here can be easily calculated. One second in the shadow might be ten thousand years in some realms. I need to leave the shadow as soon as possible!'

Red glow surrounded Angele's eyes.

He tried his best to escape Huan's world. Angele had the ability to fight back when Huan was still holding back, however, there was nothing he could do after Huan fully activated her power.

The biochip did the calculation before the green rays landed on his body and he finally found a weak point of the dimension. He used all his power to create the dimension fissure and escaped Huan's world.

Without the biochip, there would be nothing he could do. He would perish in the green rays and his soul would be trapped in Huan's world forever.

'The difference between a sealed form and an ancestor is huge… The Light Form was my strongest ability, but it barely damaged Huan. Although Huan took some damage, she recovered so fast that it almost felt like nothing happened.'

Blue light dots flashed in front of his eyes.

'Zero, check Huan's energy data and analyze the power level of an ancestor's Siva State.'

'Task created…'

'Collecting the data…'

Zero's mechanical voice echoed in Angele's ears.

Angele felt a bit relieved. He knew that he would be severely injured since his power level was lower than Huan.

He rested for a while and the black scorpion pattern appeared between his brow again. The pattern vibrated slightly and released a black string.

He chanted the incantation slowly in a deep tone. It was a vibration rune that needed to be used together with the bloodline sigil.

The black string was getting longer and longer as he chanted the incantation. It twisted in the sky and turned into a black zipper several seconds later.

The black string disappeared after the zipper was created.

Angele bit the zipper and pulled it down.

*CHI*

The zipper was unfastened, revealing a dark blue sky. There was a white crescent moon hanging in the center of the sky.

Strangely, the surface of the moon was rough. It was covered with tiny holes, and there were black insects climbing out of them.

It almost looked like that the moon was covered with ants.

A bitter smile appeared on Angele's face.

'I have no idea which realm this is…'

He had had no choice—he had to open the fissure to the closest realm using the power of the scorpion woman. The realm was unstable and that was the reason why he opened the fissure so easily.

Angele had no time to think and he moved into the zipper immediately.

***********************

Some random realm.

The light from the ant-covered moon illuminated the land. There were insects making noises.

In the sky above a random plain, a black zipper suddenly appeared, and a human head jumped out of it.

The head rolled several times on the ground and stopped after hitting a white stone. The zipper in the sky also disappeared slowly.

"Ugh…"

It was Angele's head. He exhaled deeply and leaned against the white stone. He was having trouble adjusting the position of his neck.

"Greetings."

A dark green frog crouched in front of Angele and greeted him.

"Well, greetings," Angele responded. The frog was so close to him that it made him feel a bit weird. He quickly moved away from the frog and observed it carefully.

"Which world are you from?"

The frog was speaking in standard Chaos language; its voice was gentle. The frog was breathing calmly and it almost sounded like it was a young man who just spoke.

"I don't know." Angele was telling the truth. "Who are you and where am I?"

This was the question he wanted to ask.

"I'm a green frog, a normal frog. This is the Oblivion Realm; the Chaos Realm is right next to us. You can also call this realm the Oblivion World. The size of the world depends on how you perceive it. Ah, one more thing, which level are you at?" the frog asked a random question.

"What do you mean?" Angele was confused. "What level are you talking about? Does it represent anything?"

"This is a philosophical question. I've been thinking that I'm probably not just a frog. I'm probably a great philosopher." The frog was just saying random things.

"Well, that's a tricky question…" Angele's mouth twitched. He had no idea what was going on.

"Alright, let's end the conversation here. I need to visit the Fountain of Debris. It'll be opened soon. There's one thing I need to tell you. Don't stay here for too long. This is a cursed area. The Lord of Misfortune cursed the 9000 worlds here, and you'll be cursed too if you are not careful." The frog jumped away before Angele could say anything else.

Angele watched the frog leave. He hesitated for a second and started rolling in the same direction with his head.

It was hard to roll his own head, but it would consume a lot of energy to rebuild his flesh. He needed to consume some meat and blood so he could save some energy.

He rolled to the forest and traveled for a while. Angele got tired and stopped by a tall tree.

There were a couple of purple flowers on the left. The flower petals were covered with eyes that looked like tiny mirrors. The eyes were staring at him curiously.

"Greetings." Angele greeted the eyes on the flower petals.

The purple flowers did not respond. Their eyes were rolling; it seemed like they were not intelligent.

Angele was a bit surprised. He scanned the flower using the biochip. There was no other creature around.

He moved to the flower and pulled the flower off its root using his tongue.

Angele bit the flower and chewed the eyes on the petals. Some sweet and sticky liquid spread in his mouth.

'They taste like cherries…' Angele swallowed the whole thing and started eating the other purple flowers. Several seconds later, he finished all the purple flowers around.

He returned to the original location and leaned against the tree. He started rebuilding his body.

Minutes later, his shoulders returned, and his arms also returned. However, the growth stopped quickly—only the upper half of his body was successfully rebuilt.

"I need more…" Angele shook his head and looked around. There was no other creature around.

*DI*

Zero's mechanical voice echoed in his ears.

'Analysis completed. Data analyzed. Read now?

'Sure,' Angele responded right away.

Huan's body appeared in his sight. The body was a blue hologram, rotating slowly.

Under the hologram, there was a golden wave that was moving like a snake. Random numbers were being displayed above the golden wave; there were at least ten rows of numbers.

Angele only checked the numbers he needed.

'Damage level: 3060 thousand degrees to unknown.'

'Defense level: 140 thousand degrees to 440 thousand degrees.'

'Stamina: Unknown.'

'Mentality: 1620 thousand to unknown.'

Angele skipped the unknown part and looked at the conclusion.

'Based on the data, an ancestor has 23 times your power at Siva State. Please avoid fighting an ancestor.'

'23 times… And this is not the highest number… No wonder I had no way to fight back. My Light Form only damaged her physical form slightly.' Angele was speechless.

'I should recover in the Oblivion Realm and figure what's going on with this place.'

Angele checked the mark on his soul and noticed that the mark was not doing anything. However, he knew that the mark would still alert him in certain situations. It seemed like the old monster left the mark on his body for more than one reason.

He used his hands as his feet and started walking to the deep forest. He could hear things moving through the bushes; there were random voices echoing above the forest.

The ground was cold and wet. He went over some broken pieces of stones and tree branches.

Angele was moving forward slowly. Although half of his physical form was destroyed, his true form was not impacted. The most important part of his body was his head, so it was not a problem. He wondered if Huan already figured it out and just did not want to kill him.

He kept walking; he had no idea how long had passed.

The moonlight was blocked by the trees. The shadows under the trees were dark.

Angele was moving forward quietly. Suddenly, he turned around and stopped by a tree. He quickly hid in the shadows.

He leaned to the side and looked ahead.

A silver deer was eating grass from the ground. The deer's body was glowing and it was standing by the bushes.

The deer had a clean white body; the light around it was gentle. The deer had two large horns that almost looked like artworks.

Also, a naked palm-sized girl was sitting on the deer's head. The girl had long blonde hair trailing over her body and a cute face. The girl had a pair of translucent wings double the size of her body.

The girl's body was white and clean. Her feet were swinging in the air and she was singing a random song on top of the deer's head.

Chapter 602: Mark (1)

"Lalala~ Lalala~ I have a cute deer that always follows my orders…" The girl was singing while shaking her head slightly.

Several other fairies like the girl showed up in the forest. They were all naked and had translucent wings on their backs.

The fairies sang and flew around the white deer, leaving a trail of white light dots behind.

Angele hid behind the tree, his brow furrowed. He took out a small purple bag from the mirror. He sprinkled some purple dust on his body and the area around him.

Some purple patterns appeared around the ground. Angele's body became translucent and slowly disappeared into the air.

There were more than ten fairies flying around the white deer, all singing.

The white deer crouched, closed its eyes, and started resting.

"Ah!"

Suddenly, the deer screamed as its skull was ripped apart. The fairies were stirring the deer's brain like crazy using their hands.

The rest of the fairies also charged to the deer and started devouring its body. They were sharing the deer's meat together.

The deer's white body was soaked in fresh blood.

A fairy grabbed one of its front legs and easily pulled it off the deer's body. Several fairies flew to the leg and started chewing the meat.

The white deer was screaming in pain, however, it slowly stopped moving on the ground. The fairies were still eating the deer and the blood splashed everywhere. Stink quickly permeated the air.

Angele remained silent behind the tree and watched the fairies eat the deer. The fairies left the area after a while. Angele carefully walked to the deer's dead body.

He crouched by the deer's large horns and checked them carefully. The horns were hard and warm. He made sure that there was no other creature around and took out a black mirror. The mirror expanded and its length increased to two meters.

He threw the horns into the mirror, which quickly shrank. Angele collected and tied it to his waist.

Angele started heading to his original destination after collecting the horns.

He traveled in the dark forest; he had no idea how long had passed. At some point, Angele could hear that there was a river running ahead.

Angele increased his speed and noticed that there was white light in the area ahead.

The light was getting brighter and the noise made by the river louder as Angele proceeded. He reached the edge of the forest and stopped by a large tree. He leaned to the side and looked around.

Outside the forest was a small white fountain. The water in the fountain was from a stone vase on the left. It was clean and poured endlessly.

Strangely, the water level in the fountain never changed. The fountain was only half filled and was releasing a gentle fragrance.

A palm-sized yellow lizard was moving to the fountain slowly but steadily. It arrived at the edge of the fountain and jumped into the water.

*BLOP*

The lizard disappeared as it touched the water.

Angele narrowed his eyes.

'The dimension waves… If I'm not mistaken…'

He stayed behind the tree.

Several minutes later, a gray rabbit with red vortexes in its eyes walked to the fountain. It jumped into the water and disappeared as well.

New dimension waves appeared in the air.

Angele checked the dimension waves carefully and started thinking.

He pressed on the chest using his hand, and dark red glow appeared.

'I was correct… I can communicate with the Nightmare Realm again. The dimension in this realm is unstable and the realm power here is not pressuring me. I can return to the Nightmare Realm after I'm fully recovered.'

Angele was worried that he would not be able to leave the Oblivion realm so easily before he found out the secret.

He waited for a while, but no other creatures came.

He stepped forward, walked to the fountain, and crouched.

"Greetings, newcomer, which realm do you want to enter?" A gentle voice suddenly echoed in his ears.

"What do you mean?" Angele was surprised. He did not expect to talk with the fountain.

"I'm the water that is connected to three high-level realms. You can travel to three different realms using me," Fountain of Debris responded in a gentle voice. "My job is to transfer you to the realms. Also, if you find other Fountains of Debris, you can use them to travel to different realms. We are bridges that connect the realms."

Angele thought for a second and asked, "Which means, Fountains of Debris are fountains that can take me to different realms, right? It doesn't matter if it's the same fountain or not, I just need to find Fountains of Debris when I'm in different realms."

"Yes, you're correct," the fountain responded. "The teleportation helps us grow. The more realms we communicate with, the stronger we'll be. That's the reason why we're here. Also, newcomer, drinking my water will heal your wounds."

Angele hesitated for a second and drank some water from the fountain. The water was tasteless and it felt like he was drinking air.

Seconds later, his body itched and the rest of his body recovered slowly.

"Which realms do I have access to?" Angele questioned.

"Chaos Realm, Shadow Realm, and the wizard world."

"Huh? I didn't expect the wizard world to be an option." Angele was a bit surprised.

"The realm you're in is close to the three realms I just mentioned. You can find many dimension fissures here. Also, this is a midpoint of the Oblivion Realm. You're not in the true Oblivion Realm, so you don't need to be surprised. You can enter the aforementioned realms using many different methods," the fountain explained.

"Do I need to pay you anything to use your service?"

"You can bring the water from other Fountains of Debris if possible. I'll pay you if you can do that. Also, teleportation is free since that's the reason why I'm here."

Angele straightened his back and thought for a while by the fountain.

"Take me to the Chaos Realm."

"Jump in."

Angele jumped into the fountain.

"Ah!"

Something screamed behind his back when Angele's feet contacted the water. Angele felt like he was paralyzed for a second, and was blocked by the fountain. He landed on the area beside the fountain after the impact.

"What's in your body?!" The fountain sounded surprised. "The realm power blocked you. The thing in your body is rejected by the target realm!"

Angele's head was dizzy; it took him a while to recover.

"What just happened?" He walked back to the fountain slowly. Angele did not trust the fountain completely when he jumped. However, the water removed all his defensive power when he contacted it; the experience was not pleasant.

"Sadly, you're rejected by the realm. I don't think I can send you there…" the fountain responded calmly. "The thing in your body is the problem. You can't teleport now."

"How's that even possible?" Angele's brow furrowed. "I'm sure I'm connected to at least one realm."

"You can try it yourself. I think your power has already recovered."

Angele put his hand on his chest and his body was quickly surrounded by a red glow.

"Ah!"

The scream echoed again and his head was dizzy. The red light quickly disappeared and he failed to connect to the Nightmare Realm.

The scream reminded him of the old monster in the dimension maze. He realized what the reason was.

"I was correct. It's not my problem. The thing in your body is the problem," the fountain spoke in a light tone. "I think it's the mark of an ancestor. It's a method used by the ancestors if the ancestors don't want you to escape. However, it seems like yours is a bit different…"

Angele stood there as the blue light flashed in his eyes. He inhaled deeply and looked at the fountain after a while.

"Fountain of Debris, can you solve my problem?"

"Your situation is different. I can try to send you out by consuming my own water, however, I don't see the point of doing that," the fountain responded. "You need to pay for such service."

Angele looked at the fountain. "What do you want me to do in return?"

The fountain remained silent for a while and released a mentality wave, which turned into a message and entered Angele's ears.

"Outsider, I can see that you've traveled to many different realms and you're marked by an ancestor. If you can take my seed to other realms and guard me for 100 hundred years, I'll consume my own water and send you to the target realm."

Angele remained silent for a second and agreed to the offer. He realized what the fountain was after hearing these words.

He had read about the fountains that could teleport people to different realms back in the wizard world. The more realms they could communicate with, the stronger they would be. Like the Eyes of Destruction, you could find them in many different realms.

Chapter 603: Mark (2)

Translator: _Leo_ Editor: Kurisu

The information was the same as what Fountain of Debris just said; he felt a bit relieved.

"If I accept the offer, a contract will be created automatically, right? In the name of the four realms you can communicate with," Angele responded slowly.

"Yes, the promises I make are protected by the realms, which means you shouldn't accept the offer if you can't keep your promise." The fountain went straight to the point.

Angele remained silent as blue light dots flashed in front of his eyes.

The fountain remained silent as well.

About half an hour later, Angele exhaled slowly and nodded.

"I'll accept the offer."

Angele knew that what the fountain asked him to do was hard to accomplish, however, it was nearly impossible for him to travel to another realm by himself. He tried it many times, but he was interrupted by the mark.

The fountain vibrated, and the water turned into a translucent platform. There was a nail-sized silver ball on the platform, glowing slightly.

"This is the seed of my fountain, please keep it well and keep your promise. The four realms witnessed our agreement, if you break your promise, you'll be pressured by the four realms at the same time. You're not an ancestor, so your soul will be eliminated if that happens."

"I understand." Angele nodded and picked the silver ball up carefully. He opened his mouth and swallowed it. It was the safest way to keep the ball.

"Please get ready and tell me the realm that you want to travel to. I suggest that you skip the Chaos Realm. A war of ancestors is going on; you'll be caught in the middle of it. It's just a suggestion, all three realms might help you with the mark so you should make the decision by yourself."

"If you're telling the truth, I can still remove the mark in the wizard world? Send me back to the wizard world then." Angele made the decision.

"Understood. Jump again, please."

The fountain stopped talking.

Angele inhaled deeply and jumped into the fountain.

*BLOP*

*********************************

*ROAR*

A random rhino roared.

The golden clouds in the sky were moving quickly; the sun was hiding behind them.

The tornado in Nicolas Abyss was rotating slowly but steadily. The tornado was so large that it connected the plain to the sky.

Somewhere in the plain.

A black fissure appeared in the sky.

*CHI*

The fissure slowly expanded, and a naked man with long hair jumped out of it. The man had long red hair and a pair of dark red eyes. His body was strong and healthy.

The man landed on the grass and flicked his finger. The mud and the grass on the ground were pulled into the air, then gathered around the man's body and turned into a light green outfit.

He was satisfied with the green armor he created; he quickly checked the surroundings.

"This is the plain with the tornado—the area in front of the tornado. I didn't expect the dimension fissure to bring me here."

He rubbed his beard and thought, 'I should go to the root of the world and find the information I need.'

He looked at the tornado and floated in the air. He leaned forward and started flying toward the tornado.

Angele still remembered the route to the root of the world and so quickly found the way in after traveling through the dust.

The inn was still standing in the dust quietly, and the light screen above the inn never changed. It looked the same as the last time Angele saw it.

He landed in front of the inn and knocked on the door.

*Knock Knock*

*CHI*

The door opened by itself as Angele knocked on it. The place was dark and the hall was empty. There was only a candle burning on the counter.

The owner of the inn, the red beard, was standing by the candle. He was holding a wooden cup in one hand and some leather paper in the other. He was reading the paper when Angele entered the inn.

He got confused for a second when he saw Angele, but he quickly recognized him and got excited.

"It's you! Haha…" He put down the leather paper and the cup while laughing. He walked to Angele and hugged Angele hard.

"Long time no see!" Angele was not used to being treated like this, but he still greeted the red beard.

"Yeah, it has been a while. Actually… it has been 800 years since we last met. So, have you changed your mind? Do you want to join the inn now?" the red beard said as he sat down by a table.

With a flick of his finger, two glasses of yellow wine appeared on the table.

"800 years?" Angele's pupils retracted. "Are you serious? I didn't think it was that long…"

The red beard glanced at Angele as he heard that.

He shook his head and asked, "I think you went to somewhere with different time units, were you in an unstable dimension? Also, the smell from your body is strange and unwelcoming… Can you tell me what happened to you?"

"I'm here to ask for your help. I was marked by something, and the mark will stop me from traveling to other realms. I need to find a way to remove the mark." Angele turned around the armor on his back opened, revealing his back.

There were some green patterns in the center of his back. The patterns looked like a scarf that was covered with purple eyes. There were hundreds of eyes on the scarf, and they were blinking from time to time.

The red beard's face turned pale after seeing the mark. He was so surprised that he almost dropped the wine glass.

"My lord… Where did you get this from? It's a mark from an ancestor!" His voice was loud, but it sounded like he was a bit scared while speaking.

"So it's true. Do you have a way to handle it?" Angele turned around and the armor returned to normal. "They say you're a walking library. I don't think it's a difficult problem for you, right?"

"Of course! I can help you!" The red beard finished the wine and put down the glass. "It's a mark from the ancestor. The ancestor applied it on your body because you're his target. Most importantly, the mark will damage you permanently and stop you from traveling to other realms!"

"Huh?"

"The longer the mark is on your body, the stronger it will become. I don't know which ancestor applied the mark on you, but I suggest that you pay the Moon Empire a visit. They have detailed information about the ancestors. They know all the ancestors in the wizard world and the realms around the wizard world. You need to find the owner of the mark, then you'll find the way to handle it," the red beard explained. He was looking at Angele like looking at a dead person. "You'd better hurry. If the mark becomes too strong, you won't even be able to use portals, which means you'll have to travel physically."

"Moon Empire? I've never heard of an empire with that name." Angele's expression turned serious.

"It's an ancient empire in the underground world; it's not occupied by human beings—the empire was built by the night elves. Also, the Moon Empire is in a different part of the underground world. They are in the west of the central continent. They don't need any light to survive, so they didn't participate in the Great War. Night elves are mysterious. I've heard that they knew a lot of things that the human beings didn't know, including the marks of the ancestors."

"If it's in a different part, how do I get to there…" Angele's brow furrowed. "What should I do even if I can find the entrance to the empire?"

"The entrance is located at a random ruin of the west coast. I'll draw a map for you. Enter the entrance and find the Trees of Night Elf. They are the most knowledge beings in the empire; I think they can help you identify the mark"—the red beard sighed—"I thought you could help me, but it seems like you're in a lot of trouble. You need to get rid of the mark as soon as possible."

Angele patted the red beard's shoulders. "Thank you. I can leave a shadow here so I can still help you."

"A shadow? What can a shadow do…"

"A lot of things."

Angele chuckled.

Ten minutes later…

Angele left the inn with a map in his hand. There were many red lines on the map, and the most obvious mark had some tiny characters written beside it.

It was Ramsoda.

Ramsoda was marked with a red dot—it was the entrance to the underground world.

"West coast…" Angele raised his head and started searching through his memory.

Angele studied in Ramsoda, but his teacher went to the underground world a long time ago. He wondered what happened to his old friends, including Isabel.

The things that happened above the Gem Sea also flashed in front of his eyes.

He suddenly had the urge to revisit his old friends and the places he knew.

He wondered what happened to his family and wanted to know if Isabel was still alive. Also, he wanted to see how his teacher was doing in the underground world.

Angele watched the golden sun rise and changed his direction. He started heading to the west side of the central continent. Several seconds later, his body disappeared into a ball of red flames. He decided to teleport to move faster.

He slowly disappeared from the plain.

A ball of red flames appeared at the place he was standing at. The fireball turned into a human being with a translucent body, which solidified as time passed. It was Angele's shadow.

"Alright, I'll take care of this!" Angele's shadow smiled, turned around, and headed back to the inn.

Chapter 604: Revisit (1)

Translator: _Leo_ Editor: Kurisu

One month later…

Michael Tower, a city by the edge of the central continent.

There were many tall white towers in the city. Several small air transportation sites were built by the edge of the city.

On the green grass plain, the airport transportation sites looked like small brown flowers. There were people entering and leaving the sites. The airships were also landing and leaving the sites.

In one of the air transportation sites, there was a long line of those waiting. Most of them were wizards; there were also Grand Knights. Besides human beings, there were also female centaurs wearing white armor and men with heads of owls or eagles.

The wizards were all wearing long robes, and their faces were covered by their hoods.

A man in front of the line was wearing a long black robe and a mask. People could still see long red hair on his back.

The mask did not cover the man's red eyes, but his forehead was concealed by the hood.

He was the next one to board the airship.

"Please show me your ticket." The one that was checking the ticket was a man with the head of a bear.

The man handed a black iron card to the bear man, who broke the card in half, then kept half of the card and handed the other half to the man.

The man grabbed the card and boarded the airship using the wooden staircase.

The brown airship looked like a boat, and had the head of a white bear painted on the right side. The sails were not set yet.

There were already a lot of people on board, but the place was not crowded at all. It could easily fit 30 more people.

The man went around on board and found a corner with not many people around. He stood by the railings and enjoyed the wind.

It was Angele, who traveled all the way here from the tornado. If he wanted to go to the west coast, using the airship was the most convenient way. The airship could move in a straight line and was relatively safe when compared to travel on land. Most importantly, the airship had similar speed as Angele.

Angele put his hands on the railing and looked down.

The white city on the far side was illuminated by the sunlight. There were many airships in the sky above; the gentle wind blowing over his face was quite warm. He could also hear the noise made by the engines of the airships.

"Alright, we'll now arrange the rooms. Please check the number on your ticket and find your own room." A female voice came from the iron card.

"Card number 1, please head to room number 31. Card number two, please head to room number 12. Card number 3…"

The announcement was to tell the passengers the rooms they were assigned to.

Angele checked his card, the number was 25.

"Card number 25, please head to room number 7…"

Angele waited until the announcement finished and all the passengers had boarded the ship. The airship suddenly vibrated.

"Note, airship number 19 will be leaving the site soon, please stay away from the railings."

"Mom… I'm scared…" A girl that was about seven years old holding a female wizard's legs looked scared.

Don't worry, mom is here. Don't move."

The female wizard crouched and hugged her daughter. A man in a white robe and silver glasses was standing beside them, holding several books. It seemed like he was the husband of the woman.

Angele glanced at them and noticed that one of the books in the man's hands was called History of the Central Continent.

He thought for a while and approached the man.

"Excuse, could you lend me this book, the History of the Central Continent?"

His question surprised the family. The female wizard and the male wizard observed Angele carefully.

The male wizard looked at Angele. "Sorry, but this book…"

"I'll give you this if you can lend me the book." Angele took out a mid-level magic stone, whose clean surface reflected the sunlight.

"Sorry, this is my daughter's birthday gift. If you really need one, you can purchase a new one after we arrive at the destination." The male wizard looked at the magic stone. He wanted the stone, but still declined the offer.

"No worries. I just want to read the book to kill some time," Angele replied politely. He thought the male wizard would hand the book to him right away. 700 years had passed in the wizard world. After the war against the Nightmare Realm, a mid-level magic stone could easily purchase a lot of materials.

A lot of magic stones were used during the war and the energy cycle in the central continent was damaged. There were fewer energy particles in the central continent than before and most of the magic stone mines were closed.

The fewer the magic stone mines, the higher the price of the magic stones would be. Wizards who still had mid-level magic stones were probably from large families.

Angele talked to some other wizards on his way to the air transportation site and learned a bit about the new central continent.

The wizards were much weaker than before due to the war. The ranking system was still the same, but there were not many rank 4 wizards left. The wizard organizations were different due to the lack of materials. An organization with a rank 4 wizard and a Legacy Magic Circle would be considered strong.

The wizards at different levels were slightly weaker than the wizards from Angele's era.

"If you just want to read it for a bit, I won't take the magic stone. Just make sure you give it back to me after," the male wizard responded carefully and handed the book over to Angele.

Angele grabbed the book and opened it. He found the pages that recorded what happened in the last 700 years.

After the wizard alliance disbanded, Prince Evil Dragon disappeared and the wizard organizations reclaimed their territories. The Elemental Hand was still on the list. Shadow Lord and Sky Lord lost their territories. Mirror Lord still had territory but lost the title, and the new territory was named Wizard Tower Forest.

A lot of things happened in the central continent over the last 300 years.

Angele closed the book after about half an hour and returned to the male wizard.

"So many things happened when I was not around…"

The male wizard grabbed the book and smiled.

"It's understandable; it's true that things are changing quickly. I became a formal wizard about 100 years ago, and everything changed since then. The old buildings were renovated and many famous wizards disappeared."

"You're right. Things have changed, and nothing is the same now." Angele nodded.

"I'm probably an old man in the young ones' eyes…"

He glanced around and noticed that the airship was already in the air. He could still see the green grass and the air transportation site on the ground. There were also airships preparing to land.

"May I ask if you know how those routes are arranged? Why are so many people heading to the west coast?" Angele wondered.

The man chuckled.

"There is a lot of airships, but only a few of them are heading to the west coast, including this one. Didn't you notice that most of us are weak? Apprentices, low-level wizards, and knights. Not everyone wants to stay in the central continent. We'll be treated better on the west coast.

"True," Angele agreed and nodded.

They remained silent after the conversation ended. They just looked at the forest below as the airship flew. The airship was already surrounded by white clouds.

The man's wife whispered to him with their daughter in her arms.

"Sorry, I need to go. The temperature is decreasing, I need to put more clothes on my daughter."

Angele nodded. "Sure. I'm going back to my room too."

They went to the cabin together and found the rooms. Angele said goodbye to the family and went to the other side of the hallway. He found his own room quickly.

The iron card was the key to the room. He twisted the handle slightly after inserting the card and opened the door. There were two bunk beds in the room.

The beds were made of black metal; the sheets were white.

Three of the beds were already occupied by two women and a man. They were all around 20 years old.

The two women were wearing gray and black metal armor: they were knights. They were lying in the beds with their clothes on. The man, who was wearing a gray robe, was reading a book quietly.

Angele's appearance caught their attention. The two female knights looked at Angele, but there was no expression on their faces. The male apprentice's brow furrowed but he did not say a word.

Angele decided not to greet them since no one said anything. Only a few airships would travel to the west coast, so the rooms were usually crowded.

It was a small room: two beds and four small nightstands were everything in the room. He could barely walk between the bunk beds.

Angele noticed that only the top level of a bunk bed was left; a female knight with red hair was below him. He climbed up the ladder and the female knight below him fell asleep again.

Angele looked at the knight when climbing up.

Clean skin, beautiful hair, large eyes, large breasts, slim waist, and long legs. The woman almost looked perfect.

Sadly, Angele noticed the remaining radiation energy in her body. It seemed like a wizard modified the woman's face, legs, and skin using certain spells.

'Cosmetic surgery performed by a wizard?' Angele shook his head and lay down. He glanced at the other female girl as well.

The female knight looked very different than the one under him. The woman had blonde hair and was wearing a white shirt. Her armor was left on a nightstand.

The woman had a pair of sharp eyes and there was a red scar on the left side of her face. Her body was balanced, but nothing looked strange. She noticed Angele's sight upon her, but she was not concerned. She closed her eyes and started resting again.

Angele also noticed that there was a metal dagger under her pillow.

'At least this one has a natural body.'

He then checked the male apprentice. The man's face and the bottom of his body were also modified by spells. The world really changed, wizards would only modify their own bodies hundreds of years ago.

The female knight with red hair and the male apprentice also noticed that Angele and the other woman did not modify their body. It seemed like they did not like people who had natural bodies.

"It'll take a while until we reach our destination. Since we're in the same room, why don't we introduce ourselves? I'll start. My name is Gai, and I'm a rank 3 apprentice." The male apprentice suddenly opened his mouth. "Alright, your turn." He was talking to the female knight with a scar on her face.

The female knight opened her eyes and put her arms behind her head.

"Erin, I'm a knight," she responded in a calm and light tone.

The female knight with red hair changed her position slightly and smiled.

"I'm Selina, and I'm a rank 3 apprentice."

"My name is Green, and I'd rather keep my rank secret," Angele introduced himself, but there was no point for him in telling others about his rank.

"Your eyes are beautiful and have some good fashion sense." Selina was interested in Angele because the man gave her an unusual feeling. She was looking at Angele from below; Angele could easily see her breasts from that angle.

The woman climbed her way up using her body because of her low talent level. She did everything she could to become a rank 3 apprentice, and it was nearly impossible for her to rank up again. That was the reason why she decided to move to the west coast.

"Thanks…" Angele smiled; his eyes were red like rubies. "You have a nice body."

They chatted for a while before the lunchtime.

They left the room, walked down the hallway, and entered a spacious dining hall.

There were rows of metal tables and chairs in the dining hall. People were already having food on their seats; they could purchase prepared dishes from the counters.

Angele waited in the line and got himself a lunch combo. He had an omelet, some vegetable salad, some barbequed pork, and a large serving of white bread.

He found a random seat and was about to start eating. The female knight named Selina suddenly sat down by Angele and put down her plate. The food in her plate looked better than the food in Angele's plate.

The male apprentice named Gai sat down in front of them with a plate full of food. He waved at the girl named Erin, who was sitting by herself in a corner.

"Erin, come sit with us. We can have lunch together."

Erin glanced at them.

"Don't worry about me."

She lowered her head and focused on the food in her plate.

"Well, we'll be living in the same room for a while, we should at least have lunch together…" Gai muttered.

"Let me talk to her." Selina stood up. She walked to Erin and dragged her to their table. They were both knights, but it seemed like Selina was stronger and her rank was higher. Although Erin tried to decline the offer, she was still dragged to their table.

They sat down. Angele noticed there was only some brown bread in Erin's plate. She was drinking water and eating the cheapest bread.

Her plate was not appealing at all when compared to others' plates.

It seemed like Selina was doing it intentionally. She straightened her back and grabbed Erin's shoulders.

"Erin, why did you order the worst food? Are you trying to lose weight? Your body needs a lot of nutrients. Alright, have some egg rolls." She put the egg rolls in her plate onto Erin's plate. No one knew if Selina was being generous or just mocking the other party.

"Don't worry about me…" Erin tried to push Selina's plate away, but the egg rolls were already on her plate.

Angele and Gai watched the scene, but they did not say a word. They were just eating their food.

After lunch, they returned to the room together. Selina asked Angele a lot of questions. Gai was reading his book. As for Erin, she looked a bit depressed after the incident. She lay in her bed and no one knew what she was thinking.

Angele chatted with Selina while monitoring his body's condition.

He was not releasing strong energy waves and mentality waves. With the pressure from the ancestor's mark, others would think that he was just a mortal. Strangely, the only thing the ancestor's mark did was to stop him from teleporting to other realms. The mark did not hurt his body and it was somehow improving his bloodline. He could feel that his true form was getting stronger as time passed. Angele's power was increasing like there was no limitat.

Angele's power level was increasing so fast that he was a bit scared. The barrier made by the six-arm snake race had a limitation, if Angele's power level was too high, the barrier would break. The barrier was already damaged when he was exploring the intestine of the world. The barrier could break at any time if his power level continued to increase.

Ten days passed quickly.

Selina was treating Angele like he was her close friend, however, no matter what she did, Angele did not show any interest. He was paying more attention to the other female knight named Erin.

After they had the lunch together, Erin never joined them again; she would have her lunch at a different time. Also, she never used any paid services or bought any snacks in the airship. It seemed like she had some financial problems.

The female knight did not even have money for the hot water, and used cold water to wash her clothes and clean her body. The temperature in the sky was extremely low. The place was cold even for a knight. Angele talked to the workers in the airship and ended up paying for the hot water for her.

Angele felt like Erin was similar to the female swordsman named Velvet. Velvet was in the same ship as him when he was traveling to Ramsoda. The girl was not very talented, but she never gave up.

Also, Erin would lower her head and blush when she saw Angele after she found out that Angele was paying her bill. The hot water in the airship was relatively expensive when compared to other services. Erin would rather spend the money on food, however, she knew that she might get sick if she continued to use the cold water.

Several days later, Erin decided to talk to Angele. She asked Angele to find her on the deck.

There was no one else on the deck. The place was so cold that no one would go there. Only the workers would check the condition of the airship from time to time.

Angele and Erin stood by the entrance of the cabin.

"You don't have to buy the hot water for me. I can't pay you back." She looked at Angele calmly.

She spent all her money on the ticket to the west coast; she had not expected the hot water to be so expensive. The wizard apprentices could warm up the water by themselves, but Erin was just a knight. She could only rely on the special cold water provided by the airship. The special water would not freeze even when the temperature was lower than negative 30 degrees. Erin almost passed out when she used cold water to clean her body in the bathroom.

"Don't worry. I just want to do it." Angele's face was covered with a mask. He did not expect to meet a girl that could remind him of Velvet. That was the only reason why Angele decided to pay for her hot water.

Angele declined Velvet's offer for various reasons. The incident happened a long time ago, but Erin just kept reminding him of the girl.

"I can't pay you back. You can probably get anything you want, and I don't think you're interested in my body. Why are you doing this for me?" Erin sounded a bit anxious.

"You remind me of an old friend… That's the only reason why I'm doing this for you. Alright, don't think too much about it. We're getting closer to the Storm Lord's territory." Angele smiled, turned around, and left.

Erin stood behind Angele and bit her lips. Angele had no idea what she was thinking.

Three days later.

They entered the territory of the storm giants. The airship was moving to the right.

Some of the passengers decided to get off the airship here and walk to the west coast. Angele was one of them. He said goodbye to his roommates and got off the airship. He built a small tent in the forest and rested for a while.

Angele was not going to walk to the west coast. He wanted to visit the storm giants; they almost killed him when he was traveling to the central continent.

He waited half a day in front of the storm and found airship that went rogue. The airship was trying to travel through the storm, but Angele stopped them and threw all the bandits off the airship. He then headed to the center of the storm alone.

The center of the storm was a humongous gray tornado. It was smaller than the abyss tornado, however, it completely blocked the shortest path to the west coast.

Angele controlled the blue airship by himself and slowly headed to the gray tornado. He spent two days in the air and finally approached the tornado.

*****************************

The white clouds looked like cotton flowers on the ground. In their center, there was a gray tornado that was stirring the clouds around it.

On the left side of the tornado, a blue airship, whose surface reflected the golden sunlight, was moving toward it slowly.

A man in a long blue robe was standing on the deck with his hands on his back. He looked at the tornado quietly as the chilling wind blew his hair in the air.

The man's face was covered by a mask. His red eyes were exposed; he looked calm.

*Splash*

There was blue lightning in the tornado, and tiny blue electric pulses were sparking around it. The blue electric pulses turned into blue electric orbs the size of a soccer ball each.

One of the electric orbs flew to the blue airship and charged at the man in a long robe.

*PA*

With a flick of his finger, the electric orb exploded like a bubble and disappeared.

"An alert system?" The man took off the mask.

It was Angele. Strangely, his face was covered with tiny purple eyes. The eyes were all blinking—the scene was terrifying.

His body was covered with those pea-sized human eyes. They were like parasites attached to his skin. If he removed one of the eyes, two new eyes would appear and the circle would never end.

Chapter 606: Revisit (3)

Angele raised his hands. The back of his hands was covered with eyes, which almost looked like purple scales. He clapped his hands slightly.

*BAM BAM*

Two electric orbs exploded in the air and turned into two storm elementals. They had the upper bodies of human beings but the bottom halves of their bodies were dark clouds surrounded by electric pulses. They stared at Angele as they were forced to reveal themselves.

"How dare you, outsider! This is the territory of the Storm Giant!"

The other storm elemental was a female. She did not say a word, but she quickly created a purple electric orb.

"Die!"

She threw the electric orb toward Angele.

The electric orb exploded in midair far from Angele's body.

The two storm elementals were surprised. One of them took out a golden horn and blew it hard.

*WOO*

The horn made a deep and long noise.

The clouds around the airship started boiling. Countless gray vortexes left the clouds and landed on the deck one after another. They then turned into storm elementals that looked like human beings, only that their hair was formed by electric pulses. The storm elementals jumped at Angele right away.

"In the name of the storm giant!"

The storm elementals' eyes turned red as they charged to Angele with electric pulses around their bodies.

Angele just stood on the deck, and was quickly surrounded by dozens of storm elementals.

"Again? So many years passed yet you are still doing the same thing… Do you even improve?"

*PA*

With a flick of his finger, he released a lot of red lights, which quickly surrounded the storm elementals.

The storm elementals' bodies started smoking before they could move any further. Their bodies melted, and they could no longer speak. They quickly turned into piles of blue liquid on the deck, still sparking.

Angele stepped forward and turned two more elementals into liquid.

The rest of the storm elementals was surprised by the scene. They started retreating while screaming in a strange language. It seemed like they were trying to alert other storm elementals.

"Devil! You're the devil from the legend!"

"Shut up! We should let Mantis handle him! Inform the leader! We should try to stop him with the Thunderbolts!"

The storm elementals gathered and stared at Angele nervously. They knew that they should stay away from the red aura. The team was led by a male storm elemental, who was creating a purple thunderbolt in his hand.

"Who are you and why are you invading our territory? We have five million elemental giants here. It's not too late to leave." The leader knew that Angele was much stronger than them, so he sounded a bit weak.

"Me?" Angele smiled. "I was just passing by. You almost killed me when I was young, so I'm here to avenge myself. That's it."

"Mantis, why are you even talking to him? He's killing our friends, we should eliminate him as soon as possible!"

A lightning landed on the deck and turned into a girl with a cold expression on the face. The girl's hair looked different than that of others, it was blue and covered with purple electric pulses. Unlike the naked storm elementals, she was wearing purple armor.

Angele observed the girl carefully. She had an attractive face and a balanced body. Her legs were long and nice but there was no emotion in her eyes.

"You're too weak to kill me. I didn't expect to meet a storm elemental with the storm lord's bloodline so fast. I guess today is my lucky day."

Angele suddenly raised his right hand before finishing his words. He released some dark red waves, which quickly expanded to the whole airship. His right hand expanded like it was made of rubber.

One second later, his hand turned into over 100 hands. They all reached to the girl, trying to grab her.

The girl's expression changed.

"Arrogant bastard!"

She created a long electric pulse between her palms and threw it forward. The electric pulse expanded and charged at the hands, quickly destroying dozens of them; however, even more hands appeared.

"Move now! We need to help Master Sylva! Let's gather our power!" someone shouted.

The rest of the storm elementals finally realized what they should do and started throwing purple thunderbolts at Angele. The thunderbolts turned into a purple rain, blocking Angele's hands.

*BOOM*

A ball of electric pulse exploded and blew all the storm elementals away. The empty airship was shaking; a large hole appeared on the deck, revealing the cabin.

The blue electric pulses turned into a ball with a diameter of ten meters. The ball swallowed the girl and slowly disappeared after about ten seconds.

Angele grabbed the girl's neck and lifted her up. She was struggling in Angele's hand, but there was nothing she could do.

"Your name is Sylva?"

The girl could not respond, but tried to release blue electric pulses using her body. The electric pulses hit Angele's hand, but they were all absorbed by the strange eyes on his skin.

The girl finally looked scared after she realized that Angele could easily block all her attacks.

"Inform the captain!" Mantis shouted, but the other storm elementals were all terrified. They just floated in the air and stared at Angele.

Countless blue boats appeared around Angele's airship. There were naked men standing on the blue boats, their hair all formed by electric pulses. It seemed like they were elites.

The strong storm elementals surrounded the airship and two of them stepped forward. It was a male and a female, they were both wearing purple armor.

It seemed like they did not expect to meet each other.

"You're fast," the man spoke in a cold tone.

"I thought I was the only one around." The woman sounded a bit disappointed.

Blue light flashed in the sky as they quickly teleported to the deck. They were only around ten meters away from Angele.

Angele dropped Sylva on the deck.

*BAM*

Sylva groaned and started coughing like crazy. There were tears spurting out of her eyes.

Angele was not concerned. He quickly checked his surroundings.

"That's all you got?"

"What do you mean, outsider?" The man's brow furrowed.

Angele smiled, but he did not respond. He just stomped the deck.

*BAM*

The whole airship was surrounded by a red glow. After the impact, the airship charged into the storm elementals' boats.

*BAM BAM BAM*

The small boats were destroyed one by one; the storm elementals on the boats were also eliminated. Their bodies all melted into blue liquid after they were hit.

The airship cleared a path in the sky at full speed. Nothing could stop it; it looked like a red string traveling around the edge of the tornado.

*WOO*

They blew the horn again.

"Stay!" A deep and loud voice echoed in the sky.

A humongous translucent blue hand reached out of the center of the tornado, moving toward Angele's airship. Although the hand was not moving at full speed, it easily blocked its path.

Angele was not surprised by the hand's appearance. He was excited.

"Finally, you came!"

The last time he encountered the blue hand, the airship was almost destroyed. He chose the same route this time because he wanted to battle the storm giant lord again.

Angele aimed at the hand and raised his own hand. An enormous black shadow appeared behind him, and a shadow claw stopped the blue hand.

*KA*

The claw destroyed the blue hand, which quickly disappeared in the air. Angele could hear the owner of the hand groan.

"Rank 4… This thing lived for so long because of this Storm City…" Angele looked at the eye of the storm.

In the center of the tornado, there was a muscular man standing on a small blue boat. The man was holding a trident, his face pale. He noticed that Angele was staring at him and the energy waves released by Angele were familiar.

Suddenly, he realized that he encountered the same energy wave hundreds of years ago. The lord failed to stop that airship; this man was on the airship he'd attacked.

"It was you!" His voice echoed in the sky and he sounded surprised.

"I'm here to pay you back." Angele sneered and reached to the lord again. The large shadow claw behind him traveled to the lord within seconds; the lord could not move an inch due to a strong force that was dragging his body.

"Rank 5… A rank 5 wizard! No!" There was desperation in the storm giant lord's eyes.

"Help me! Lord!" he suddenly shouted, but he did not have the chance to say anything else.

*KA*

With the light noise, the storm giant lord was cut in half, and the shadow claw slowly disappeared in the air. The dead body of the storm giant lord was blown away by the strong wind.

Angele lowered his right hand and glanced at the eye of the storm.

"It's over now."

He was strong enough to see that the Storm City was in the center of the tornado based on the radiation energy around the eye of the storm. It seemed like the Storm City helped the storm giants to live longer, however, the storm giants needed to stay in the city forever. They could only move around the tornado, but their life expectancy was greatly increased.

Chapter 607: Revisit (4)

'That's why they keep others away from this area. However, they are so weak that it's nearly pointless to live for so long!' Angele glanced at the eye of the storm one final time and walked to Sylva.

"What're you trying to do?!" Sylva was scared, and tried to move away from Angele. However, Angele stepped on her ankle and stopped her from moving.

"Kid, don't provoke someone that is stronger than you the next time." Angele grabbed Sylva's neck and lifted her up like a chicken. He threw Sylva out of the airship and she quickly disappeared into the clouds.

Angele could hear Sylva screaming in the air.

The airship was traveling at full speed. The red light around its hull left a long trail in the air, and the airship quickly disappeared.

In the humongous eye of the storm, the gray tornado was still rotating slowly. A humongous face appeared around the tornado, formed by countless white clouds.

The face watched the airship leave the area and stared at the red trail it left behind. The face sighed and slowly disappeared into the eye of the storm.

"He's too strong. We should never bother him again." A calm male voice came from the eye of the storm.

The two captains that were still going after the airship heard those words and exchanged eye contact. They slowly stopped above the clouds with the storm elementals. They looked at the red trail and felt a bit confused.

"Well, it seems like the Lord thinks that the man is stronger than all of us…" the male captain spoke in a low voice.

The rest of the storm elementals remained silent; they were holding their fists so tight that their nails almost stabbed into their palms. The atmosphere here was heavy.

"Retreat!" The female captain waved her hand and returned to the eye of the storm.

****************************

Several days later.

A group of three-headed eagles was surrounded by red light. They were burnt black and started falling like dumplings. Hundreds of eagles died within seconds, and the rest of them was trying to escape.

In the blue airship, Angele gathered the red glow and glanced at the eagles. He stepped forward and the airship changed the direction.

….

Several more days passed.

A blue airship that was traveling at full speed passed by a brown airship.

The snake lizards around the brown airship were quickly eliminated by the red glow around the blue airship. They were burnt black and their dead bodies started falling.

The apprentices and the knights on the deck of the brown airship were still fighting the snake lizards when the red glow killed the snake lizards. They were confused and had no idea what'd just happened.

An old woman with a long staff in hands looked at the leaving blue airship and bowed to it slightly.

She cast a spell and looked at the airship. However, she only saw that it was a man in a purple long robe who just saved them.

Angele traveled at full speed in the next ten days. He did not stop for one second. With his power, the speed of the airship was increasing constantly.

Angele's true form had the same power as a rank 8 wizard; however, with the power from the mark on his back, the power of his true form was increasing like crazy. It almost seemed like there was no limitation.

A top-level rank 8 wizard was just one step away from becoming an ancestor. However, increasing his power alone would not help him break through the limit as that was not the only requirement for someone to become an ancestor. Ancestors represented endless power and the origins of the realms.

The power of his refined true form might break the barrier if he decided to keep all the power inside his body, so he decided to release some of his power naturally. The realm power would help him weaken the extra power he released—that was how he kept the balance.

Angele knew that he would be able to utilize his rank 8 power without the barrier one day. However, he had the feeling that he needed to restrict the power of his true form. Angele doubted if his current physical form and soul could handle the terrifying power.

He would release as much power as possible when he had the chance, so he eliminated any mutated creatures or threats he encountered on the way. The high-temperature field of the Son of Sun was extremely helpful.

The high-temperature field would consume a lot of energy if he increased the range and temperature field of the aura to a certain level. The high energy consumption helped him slow down the growth of his true form.

Several days passed again.

Angele overlooked the area below and finally found the Gem Sea. The Gem Sea was nice and blue, it looked like a large piece of sapphire reflecting the intense sunlight.

Angele looked at the sea; there were mixed emotions going through his mind. He tapped on the deck and the airship started moving to the landing area of the west coast.

"Finally… I'm back…"

**************************

Somewhere in the Gem Sea.

There were three humongous dead bodies of horned whales floating on the water. The fresh blood almost turned the whole area red.

A tall man with a translucent body was standing on top of a dead whale's horn.

The man's eyes were closed and there was a gray corona floating behind his back. The strange needle on the corona released a small ball of black shadow, which was pointing at the sky.

Suddenly, the shadow ball started rotating at full speed and made some strange noises. The needle started spinning as well. Several seconds later, the needle suddenly stopped and pointed to the northwest.

The man opened his eyes and his blue pupils retracted slightly.

"Finally, the man who took the key from me returned…"

More than ten small faces appeared on his face. Their ages and gender varied.

"We noticed that too… The one who took the Shadow Key from us…"

"Kill him! Kill him!"

"I'm so hungry…"

"Take the key back so we can control the hourglass!"

"Time will prove that you're wrong!"

The faces were shouting and yelling. They were just saying random things. Some of them sounded crazy, some of the sounded angry, and some of them sounded anxious.

"Enough…" the man spoke in a light tone. "Time has proven that I'm correct. Can't you feel my power? I'm much stronger than before. This is the power of the time!"

The human faces slowly disappeared from the man's face and everything returned to normal.

"Time has proven that I'm correct. I'll never be wrong…" He glanced at the area on the right.

*CHI*

His body suddenly disappeared into the sky. It almost felt like he had never been here.

About half an hour later.

On the right side of the horned whales, two middle-aged men suddenly appeared on the water, both wearing black robes. They looked scared.

"Finally, they're gone. I'm glad that he didn't notice us. This crazy bastard is from the east. I wonder why he's here," one of them spoke in a low voice.

"I don't know… He's from the Axis of Time, and most of their members are bloodsucking monsters. These wizards are crazy and no one knows what they want," the other man responded.

"However, it seems like he's heading to the west. Don't tell me he's going back to the land…"

"If he really goes to the land, it'll be a big problem. I think he can destroy the west coast just by himself."

Worried, they exchanged eye contact.

*************************

In the Gem Sea.

A blue airship was falling from the sky above the sea and quickly hit the surface of the water hard.

*BAM*

The airship was more than 100 meters long, and created a lot of white waves. The water was blown into the air and splashed everywhere. It felt like rain.

The front of the airship was already in the water, and the airship was sinking slowly. Angele was wearing a long purple robe and his face was covered by a purple mask; only his red eyes were exposed to the air. He was standing on the deck.

Angele leaped forward and floated in the air. He quickly drew several runes in the sky using the right hand.

"Abis!" he chanted an incantation and stopped his body from falling. "Abis" meant "Float" in the universal language.

Angele lowered his head and glanced at the sinking airship. He then turned to the left and looked at the golden beach with coconut trees on it.

He leaned forward and started flying to the beach. It took him about half a minute to land on the beach.

"Where am I? I traveled too fast; I think I missed the normal parking area."

Raising his hand, he slowly drew a red circle in the air. Two patterns that looked like the sun and the moon flashed in the circle. After the patterns disappeared, a translucent face of an old man appeared.

"I haven't cast normal spells in a while… It's just like the old days…" Angele looked at the face and pursed his lips in a smile. It was a normal spell that could guide him in the correct direction. It was a spirit created with the nearby mud and water. He just needed to ask questions, and they would be answered right away.

"Where's the Ramsoda Empire?" Angele questioned in a light voice.

The old man hesitated for a second and responded, "The ships that passed by all headed in that direction."

The old man looked at the coconut trees on the right.

"Understood."

Angele waved his hand and the translucent face quickly disappeared.

"If the entrance is at the Ramsoda school. I just need to reach the Ramsoda Empire. Also, I should visit the city. Timos and that little girl passed away years ago, but I wonder if their families are still around…"

Angele shook his head and chuckled.

"Why I'm thinking about all my old friends suddenly?" He leaped into the air and disappeared into a ball of flames. It was the elemental teleportation. He traveled hundreds of meters within seconds and entered the coconut forest.

Chapter 608: The Past (1)

Translator: _Leo_ Editor: Kurisu

In the coconut forest by the beach, there were two group of knights wearing different uniforms that were fighting against each other.

*Clank*

The metal weapons and the arrows were making noises constantly. The knights in white uniforms had the advantage—the knights in black uniforms were losing the battle.

Strangely, the knights in black uniforms had not given up yet. They were trying their best to protect a man with red hair that was standing behind them, however, they were losing their members every minute.

One of the knights in black uniforms had a long beard and his body was surrounded by a white glow. He held the scimitar and the shield in hand tight while shouting.

"Run! Mike!" He failed to block an attack and his back was hit. The wound was coated by a thin blue glow. It seemed like the weapons used by the white uniforms were poisoned.

"Someone ahead will help you! Go now!" the man shouted again.

The man with red hair glanced at the man with a long beard for the one last time and started running. They had already repeated this process multiple times and traveled all the way to here from the Labyrinth School. He just wanted to make sure that he could bring the item in his arms back safely. It was the only valuable item he had, and he needed to trade it for the medicine that would help his family members.

Five of their family knights sacrificed themselves on the way; the man with a long beard was his best friend.

The man with red hair tried his best not to cry as he held the black pouch in his arms tightly. He turned around and started running to the forest.

"Stop him!"

The white uniforms quickly noticed what he was trying to do.

The man with red hair just kept running; he'd already cast a speed spell on his legs, however, the effect was running out.

'Our family gathered all the knights and apprentices for this mission. We must bring this thing back!' This was the only thought in his mind.

The trees around him were moving backward in his sight. There was a woman with clean skin who was wearing a tight suit waiting for him in the forest ahead. She was holding two scimitars in her hands. Her long silver hair trailed over her shoulders and her blue eyes were glowing slightly. It seemed like her eyes were modified by spells.

The man with red hair sighed with relief. He threw the black pouch to the woman and fell to the ground.

"You did a great job." The woman caught the pouch and was about to leave. However, she suddenly turned around and stared at the bush before she started walking.

A man in a long purple robe was standing by a coconut tree behind the bush quietly. The man's face was covered by a mask. He was only about ten meters away from the two, surrounded by a strange aura.

The woman had no idea when the man approached them. She was a rank 3 apprentice and a formal knight. She assumed that she could detect the threats around her, however, she did not notice that man at all.

"Who're you?" she questioned in a low voice.

"I only have a simple question." Most of the man's face was covered but his voice was clear. "Do you know the way to the Ramsoda Empire?"

"Ramsoda? This is the Six-Ring High Tower's territory. You need to head to the southeast if you want to go to Ramsoda," the woman responded in a calm tone. It seemed like she was not worried about the white uniforms who were looking for them.

"Much appreciated." The man nodded and turned around.

He suddenly stopped and looked at the woman in black.

"These energy waves…"

The woman's expression changed. She quickly turned around and looked to the side. A team of white uniforms appeared, and they quickly noticed her presence.

"Hurry! We found them!"

"Inform Master Fin now!"

The white uniforms charged to them and surrounded the area. They also blocked the way of the man in a purple robe.

"Labyrinth… They were the ones who put a prize on my head…" the man suddenly spoke in a cold tone. "Alright, you told me the way to Ramsoda; I'll pay you back now."

Raising his right hand, he pressed down.

*BAM*

The ground under the white uniforms' feet collapsed and turned into black tentacles. The tentacles grabbed their feet while they were screaming.

The woman was surprised, she quickly checked the surroundings and noticed that all the white uniforms were dragged into the ground. The woman and the man with red hair were the only two left.

The man in a purple robe already disappeared into the deep forest.

Angele figured out the correct direction and thought for a while. He decided to visit the Six-Ring High Tower first and see how Isabel was doing.

He changed the direction slightly and started teleporting to the destination.

***********************

Several weeks later.

Somewhere in the Six-Ring High Tower's territory.

It was raining. A ray of red light appeared above the endless forest and small lakes that varied in shape, then rotated around the area and slowly landed by a lake. A man in a long purple robe appeared after the red light faded away. It was Angele, who did not rest for one second while traveling.

Angele raised his head and looked at the tall white towers. There were wizards flying in the sky.

'It has been years, but their defensive system didn't change at all…'

Shaking his head, Angele stopped looking. He started heading to the forest in the front.

Some metal fences appeared ahead and there was an iron gate in the front. A sign was standing by the iron gate; the engraving on the sign said "Isabel".

Angele inhaled deeply; the chilling air was quite refreshing. He walked to the iron gate slowly and knocked on it several times.

*Knock Knock*

The iron gate made some strange noises. Blue light flashed on the iron gate, and Angele heard a female voice coming from the gate.

"This is Isabel Family's territory. Who're you and why are you here?"

"I'm here to visit Miss Golan Isabel. I'm her mother's student and I'm here to talk to my teacher." Angele already did his research before he got here.

After Isabel left her family, the war against the merfolk started. A lot of wizard organizations lost many wizards during the war—like Isabel's grandmother, who died in the battle. Isabel's family was almost eliminated. She decided to return to the family and rebuild everything. Several hundred years later, she renamed the family as Isabel Family as she was the one who contributed the most.

She took many apprentices into the family and single-handedly rebuilt it. She passed away after her lover from the White Tooth Castle died. Isabel selected one of her cousins to be the leader of the family before she passed away.

Angele visited Isabel Family because he wanted to see the last thing Isabel left to this world.

"Miss Isabel's student, you must be a formal wizard. Please wait here. I'll inform Miss Lina now."

The blue light faded away as the woman finished her words.

Angele was not in a hurry. He just stood there and waited quietly.

Several minutes later, a light energy wave scanned his body, and the iron gate opened. An old woman with messy white hair was standing behind the gate with a cane in hand. She was observing Angele carefully.

"I'm sorry. I think I know most of my students, but for some reason…" the old woman looked confused.

"I look familiar but you don't know my name?" Angele smiled; the invisible energy waves he released were affecting all the creatures in the area.

"Yeah. I'm sorry. My mother has too many students, so… I'm getting old and I'm forgetting things. Please follow me. I live here alone." The old woman stepped to the side and waited.

"I could be a bandit, you know." Angele chuckled slightly.

"There's nothing valuable here. Also, you don't seem like a young man based on the energy waves you're releasing, and you have the mentality of a strong formal wizard. If you really want to break in, there'll be nothing I can do." The old woman was supported by a maid in a white suit. They slowly walked down the stone plated path and headed to the white buildings ahead.

It was raining, but the old woman's clothes were not wet at all.

Angele followed after her and the iron gate behind slowly closed.

"May I pay my respect to Miss Isabel?" He lowered his voice and went straight to the point. "I've been traveling for years and I'm sad that I didn't have the chance to talk to her before she passed away. I returned to this place because I want to give my condolences."

"Of course. Many of her students visited this place. You're probably hundreds of years old if I'm not mistaken. You can just call me Golan if you want." The old woman smiled.

"Sure. Golan, did the teacher say anything to you before she passed away? Did she have any last wishes?" Angele asked as he walked.

"She didn't have many friends when she was alive. Her best friend was exploring the world when she passed away. Her last wish was to see her best friend again. Sadly, we failed to find her best friend while she was still alive." Golan shook her head.

Angele felt a bit depressed. Isabel's last wish was probably to talk to him again.

He sighed with mixed emotions and stopped talking. He just followed after Golan and the maid quietly. They walked to a small patio behind the buildings.

The patio was surrounded by a dark fence, and there was a small gray house in front of it. There was a garden with fragrant white flowers inside on the right.

There were only some grapes on the left; the vines were quite strong. Angele could see the tiny green grapes on the vines.

"This was the last home of Miss Isabel. You can have a look." Golan opened unlocked the entrance and stepped to the side.

Angele glanced at Golan, nodded, and stepped into the patio.

"I apologize if I'm wrong, but I don't think you're Miss Isabel's student," Golan suddenly said.

Angele stopped walking. He remained silent; he wanted to know what else Golan had to say.

"Although I don't know the relationship between you and Miss Isabel…" Golan did not finish the sentence. She sighed slightly, turned around, and left.

Angele checked the woman's body when he first saw her. The woman was weak, but she still lived for over 700 years. It seemed like there was a special bloodline in this old woman's body—it was identical to the bloodline of merfolk. Merfolk's bloodline was famous for their long life expectancy. Also, people with strong bloodlines usually lived much longer than normal wizards.

He stepped into the patio and smelled the light fragrance. It was probably from the flowers, but it just smelled like Isabel for some reason. Isabel already smelled like this when she was traveling with Angele.

He walked into the small gray house. There was a chair, a table, several bookshelves, and a king-sized bed in the house. There was also a painting that was created by a spell on the wall.

In the painting, a man and a woman were standing on the deck of a ship that was on the surface of the sea. The man was wearing a long black robe and the woman was the young Isabel. She was wearing a white robe and there was a smile on her face. It seemed like their hair was flying in the wind.

Angele realized that the man was him. This painting was created by a spell using a special method by someone. The painting was decorated with golden edges and was hanging on the wall quietly.

He noticed that there were some words at the bottom right corner. He rubbed them using his fingers carefully.

'Raymond. March 4th, 1726.'

Angele smiled.

"That was two hundred years after I left the city… Raymond was the one who created this painting…"

Angele still remembered how Raymond took Isabel away from Isabel's grandmother.

He walked around in the house and started checking everything carefully. The death of a physical form might not be the end of a wizard. It was possible that Isabel's soul was still around.

Sadly, Angele checked the whole area but failed to find Isabel's soul. He realized that Isabel was completely gone.

He was depressed as he returned to the painting. He looked at the painting for a while and exited the patio.

*****************************

*BAM*

The woman in black was blown away by the impact. Her body drew a line in the air and landed on the ground. She coughed and spat out some blood. The woman struggled; she wanted to stand up, but her legs were broken. The only thing she could do was watch the enemy walk to her.

"You're here for the item too? It's too late. I've already delivered it to the family and the item will be traded for medicine. You don't have a chance… Ugh!"

*PA*

A man stepped on her chest.

He was tall a man with a translucent body. There was a gray corona floating behind the man. The needle on the corona was pointing to the right.

"You've seen my target… Am I too late?" The man's brow furrowed.

"Tell me, what does he look like?" He lowered his head and looked at the woman.

"Ugh…" The woman's eyes were wide open, but she would not spit out any word.

Her pupils were retracting and there was blood spurting out of her mouth.

*Crack*

The woman's chest was penetrated like paper being pierced through.

The man stood on the dead body and looked to the right.

"He's fast… Maybe he already knows that I'm going after him… I won't let you escape this time…"

"Kill! Kill everyone we encounter!"

"No one can stop us! The Shadow Key shall be ours!"

The faces appeared on his face again and started making noises. The man tapped on his face and the screaming faces quickly disappeared.

*CHI*

He disappeared into a ball of blue light, leaving the woman's dead body behind.

******************************

Angele found the correct direction and started heading to the ruins of the Ramsoda Empire. The whole Ramsoda Empire was destroyed over the years. The only things left were the ruins of the ancient cities.

He checked numerous ruins, but failed to find any traces left by human activities. Angele decided to head straight to the Ramsoda School, which was below ancient ruins.

Angele checked the map he created and quickly found the forest in front of the school. He decided to fly to his destination.

It took him a couple of days to find the exact location.

He traveled for several more days and found two gray robes who were looking for herbs in the forest.

"What? The school relocated after it was rebuilt? So, it's no longer under the ruins?" Angele's brow furrowed as he looked at the two gray robes in front of him.

"Yes, sir. The new school is located at the north of the original school. It's close to the Wizard's House," one of the apprentices responded. "Also, we're holding the promotion event for Wizard Charles, and the school is currently open to the public. You could visit the school if you're interested."

"Understood." Angele nodded. "Are the old ruins still at the original location?"

"Of course."

"Great."

Angele threw a low-level magic crystal to the apprentice.

"Thank you for the help."

He finished the sentence and disappeared into the air. The two apprentices had no idea what'd just happened. They looked confused.

Several days later.

Angele stepped out of the forest and overlooked the sand city ahead. The stone bridge was still standing over the dried river quietly, covered with sand.

Under the intense sunlight, the whole ancient city looked golden.

Angele checked the map carefully, and a smile appeared on his face.

He floated in the air and traveled over the stone bridge, heading to the sand city. He went around the city, turned several times, and moved to the other side of the city.

Angele passed by a bird statue and found a spacious square ahead.

The smile disappeared from Angele's face. He narrowed his eyes and stared at a translucent man who was standing in the center of the square. He noticed that the man was releasing a strange mentality wave and there was a floating corona behind him.

"Who are you?" Angele questioned in a deep voice. He already noticed that the man was standing in front of the entrance to the underground world. It seemed like he was not a random traveler or a guard.

"It's not important." The man had a blank expression on his face.

"Hand over the Shadow Key and I won't devour you."

"Shadow Key?" Angele was a bit surprised. He forgot about the item. He'd acquired the item from the ruin of Axis of Time. If this man did not question him about the key, he would not remember that he had the key. There were so many things in his mirror, and he would only take an item out when he needed it.

He heard music playing from the far side. It seemed like the promotion event already started; there were fireworks in the sky. The fireworks were brighter than the intense sunlight. It seemed like they were magic items.

Angele looked at the man quietly, and they both started releasing strong energy waves.

Suddenly, Angele smiled and took out something from the mirror. He quickly threw the item to the man.

"It's just a key. You can have it."

He threw the black key to the left and the man caught it right away. The man had to move away from the entrance to catch the key.

Angele shook his head and walked to the entrance.

"I didn't say you could leave." The man's voice came from the side.

Angele hesitated and the smile disappeared from his face.

"What did you just say? Say it again. I didn't hear it."

The energy wave Angele released was terrifying. He did not expect that the man would confront him again. The energy wave released by the man seemed weak.

Angele stopped and stared at the stranger. Rings created by flames appeared in his pupils.

The man did not respond. He collected the key and his right arm turned into a humongous glowing blue tentacle. The tentacle landed on the ground and turned into countless small glowing tentacles.

"Time will prove everything…" the man was speaking some random words as he approached Angele. The tentacles he created started growing and almost covered the whole square.

The slimy tentacles moved around the square and surrounded the man in the center.

Angele sneered and released his energy waves. He released intense red light from his body—the things covered by the red light all started melting. Some of the tentacles were caught in the red light; they were vaporized right away, and there was something screaming in the air.

"You made a wrong choice." Angele slowly took off his mask. There were countless blinking eyes on his face, all staring at the stranger.

The man was surprised. He watched the red light expand and his expression changed.

*Crack*

Some blood-red lightning splashed in the sky and there was thunder rumbling. Countless dark shadows appeared in the sky and blocked the sunlight.

The red light from the lightning illuminated Angele's face, which looked a bit terrifying.
