Chapter 2 - The First Hunt.

As the light dims, shadows grow ever darker, and the blizzard comes ever closer. Hiding in this cave is never a good idea to begin with. But I have to thank the kid's trap for protecting me while I sleep.

A dead corpse of a beast probably a bear with wings missing it's head lay before me. It's freezing body has became frozen solid the moment I touched it. It's probably thanks to the winter cold that blows here how long has it been dead I could never know, especially since I don't even know the temperature of this place. Seriously though where is the trap and how does it even work?

I look at the entrance thoroughly, finally founding it. It's some kind of a dimly shining square box with a sharp triangle on top, place inside the cave. Time to test it out, grabbing the corps, I pull it up and bring it closer to the trap, when the trap came off and shatter the corpse to pieces before it's light dims... How hard is my head? And I wasted my meal in this thing... I should probably get out of here fast.

I have been bless with probably a strong jaw, licking my mouth with my long tongue, I have molars to crush bones and grind, a canine teeth which imply I'm a omnivore. Arange in no particular order, warm blood and thick fur to endure the cold, long arms that can be folded and stretch before a second to produce a sudden immeasurable impact.

A hard and sharp claws to pierce, cut and slice my enemies while also being able to fold it inside to give me a blunt attack, a long and strong legs to jump very far and fast. A very strong bones and body to resist the impact that could shatter a frozen corpse to mush. Weirdly enough, six eyes that could move independently from each other seeing more than I can use to. It gives me quite a headache before I get use to it. I don't have any strong sense of smell since this place is pretty much a endless winter.

All to survive here I presume. Why did I know all this? Well I was actually studying as a vet before becoming a hospital owner. Why was I born here? That's what I'm trying to find out. But since I have a friend who tells me stuff back then. He told me that this is your wuote on quote, "Reincarnated life".

Why do I now gain sense of humanity and restrain but not before I kill and ate that child? That I come to regret but if I have to hypothesize I probably become more human if I ate more... Forget I thought that and many more thoughts came to me as I answer it my self. Looking at the remnants of the corpse I though well time for- I look outside to see the aurora hanging between the shining stars... Dinner!

I munch on the corpse remains as if I'm eating a potato chips. I tried my best to pull the trap out with my four fingers. When I finally succeeded, I throw it outside immediately. Why? Because It can kill me and it's in the front door, that is all I need for a reason.

When I realize I could see orange colours beneath the white snow. It's very small to me of course, and moving very fast. As my stomachs begins to growl and my body craves for more food. I restrain my self to not rush ahead and let what happen before occur.

Looking everywhere else, I could see more than one signs. They are everywhere beneath the snow. Some large, some small, while some finally dig outside and reveal them self for some reason. They are what you call a squirrel with sharp edge teeth. While looking at the side I could see a pack of horned wolf beast surrounding after a yak that stands on two legs covered with very thick hide and hair. This place is very lively for such an open field and at night no less. Yet I could not see the corpse of my mother anymore, probably eaten when I slept. As I put my head back inside I thought to my self...

[I wonder what I should do now?]

[What about hunting more food, me need more food!]the guts speaks.

[Accepted, we need to eat more and grow properly in this new body] I thought.

[But I wonder about our poison immunity or what animals are poisonous here?] Brain thinks.

[Just eat whatever we can and learn our self no risk no rewards!] My guts says.

[Denied I'm not stupid nor risky enough enough to do something like that] I thought.

[Since we're hunting let us explore this wonderful fantasy world shall we?] I ask.

[Yes that we all can agree who doesn't love new adventure life filled with new life and creatures. Probably a new human culture and technology and with that box thing proves a certainty of magic] Guts enthusiastically answers back.

[Introverts like me of course. I mean we spend almost our whole life secluded and studying while occasionally going outside to spread business, danger is not my thing] Brain refuses.

[You shut up! We're going out and that's that isn't that right main head?] guts ask.

[Yes, now we got a simple mission be a winner in life! Eat, shit, and sleep. While also living off spring somewhere if we find our kind. And obtaining a stable income of food and place to stay. Is that agreeable?]

[Yes that is acceptable] guts and mind answered.

Stepping the hard ice below me as it shatters. I roar from the top of my lungs as I reach a conclusion. Producing an eerily creepy ear piercing roar that could bleed the ears of people around. When I look down some beast ran away while some got paralyzed in fear. Another died out of shock. I thought that was convenient.

I crouch down, expanding the muscles in my leg and arms as it feels all natural. My six eyes focus on the six horned wolf each frozen in fear and shaking. Plunging my self from above, feeling the great speed of momentum clashing against my body and the boosted speed by the new gravity. I feel like I'm reaching the speed of mac 1 as all my field of vision begins to blur and feeling my body getting warmer.

I open my arms and shred the wolves to pieces in moments notice when I hit the pile of snow and the sound of a fire getting extinguish. My force was blunted and my body survived the impact. What remains of the wolves is but food sliced in four parts. I eat the wolves in moments notice, I feel my body growing stronger. Soft flesh and crunchy bones filled my mouth. Warm blood flows through my throat.

When I see the yak still standing in fear before regaining consciousness it gets on all four and decided to run away. Feeling the high tension and taste of flesh consuming me. Each of my individual eyes looks around up, down, left, right, diagonally, and decide a course to jump and slice and seeing if there is any animals left to threaten me.

This place is like the middle of a marrow bone with no roof... Crouching down, I jump to the side holding the hills and jump at the yak. Out manouvering the yak slicing it clean in four parts when I see it's upper part running as it drooled and cried before it look behind and collapse. I then jumped beside the yak and eat it as soon as possible as I feel my muscles expand and my vision become clearer.

I NEED MORE!!! GIVE ME MORE FOOD!!!

Slapping my self in my mind, I thought to control my self. When I look around there's nothing here left. No where below nor above. It's empty filled but only me and the splattered blood of the beast I killed. I sigh inside my mind and look around to find the cave where I'm staying at. Jumping there slowly now, I arrive with bo damage. As I look inside, I could see multiple small beast of different kind. A rabbit, a squirrel, and a deer hiding side by side and crouching down while shivering as they saw me. Is this a friendly kids show?

My vision goes red and before I knew it this cave is already empty. I feel satisfied, I feel powerful, I feel hungry... I smash my head to the cave, when I finally regain my senses. Dammit control your self. At least mission for food is done and mostly the animals here are not poisonous or that my body is immune to them.

I look at the sky next. The aurora hanging between the stars mesmerized me. When suddenly my immersion was disturbed by the rising smoke coming from beyond my view...

[Could it be a human settlement?] I thought.

[Let us complete the part of exploring shall we? I don't like this] Brain says.

[Yes let's go, I have enough of this food here they don't give any challenge. If memory serves me right humans always have the best tools and minds to give us a great challenge! They are a worthy prey.]

I close my eyes and opens them once more

[Let us go then.]

I jump to where the smoke rises.
