Chapter 68 - The Little Things Matter

After seeing Alex standing next to Natalia Zunnie wanted nothing to with him. She hurriedly entered the elevator when she heard footsteps behind her. Just as she was about to turn around to see if they belonged to Alex, she felt a strong hand on her wrist. Being familiar with his touch she knew exactly whose hand it was.

With a dull expression on her face, she turned to face him.

"What do you want?"

He said nothing and stepped into the elevator with her. He cupped her face and pressed his lips onto hers. He parted her lips with his tongue and kissed her so passionately she felt the dull expression fading away.

"It's not what you think," Alex whispered when he pulled away from her now swollen lips.

"And what is it that I think darling?" She replied.

"I know you're angry because you saw us together even after what happened. It's nothing like you're imagining. You're a psychologist, you shouldn't jump to conclusions just because you see something you don't like. But what you did was amazing. Hope you told her I'm not letting you go because I won't. Thanks for being mine." Alex hugged her tightly.

Even though she admitted that what Alex had said made sense, Zunnie could not think otherwise.

After speaking with Natalia, Zunnie knew she had to be more alert with Natalia Omalu. She was clever and made it clear she was not going to stop liking Alex even if Zunnie asked her to stop what she had been doing.

Zunnie had been deep in her thoughts when she felt Alex squeeze her hand. When she met his gaze her heart beat increased. His eyes had a soft look. He had that look a cat gave when it tore up the couch.

Before she could utter a word, Alex broke the silence.

"I'm sorry I showed up when you clearly said no. I want to make it up to you. So every chance I get, I will do so. You're all I care about. I'm sorry honey for worrying you. You must forgive me, or I will follow you until you do." Alex said in a serious and convincing tone.

"I should have known you would show up when you asked me where I was. I guess you can follow me everywhere I go. That would limit the probabilities of anyone trying to snatch you away and break up our relationship." Zunnie smirked as she finished replying.

She couldn't stay mad at Alex even if she wanted to. He was so affectionate and expressed his sincerity so straightforwardly, that she had no choice but to forgive him.

"Fair enough," Alex chuckled and pulled her into his embrace to kiss her.

After kissing each other for another five minutes, she pushed the number which belonged to Eyan office.

When they walked out of the elevator everyone who noticed them were looking and whispering.

"Isn't that Alexander Zi? He looks much sexier in person." She heard one of the female workers say.

"Girl hush before they hear you. That's our boss' sister next to him." Another worker said.

"Why is she here with him? Are they dating? They do look good together. I rather Alexander for myself. He's so handsome."

Zunnie felt flattered as she listened to them. Standing next to Alex completed her. She loved being with him and hearing people say they looked good together made her heart flutter.

She wondered what other people would think when they found out she and Alex were married.

The pair walked right into Eyan's office where her and Nyo's eyes were glued on the game in his hands.

"Are you ready to go Nyo dear?" Zunnie said as she walked over to where they sat.

"Zunnie sis, it's not time yet, we're close to beating this level." Nyo pleaded.

"Eyan are you coming to lunch with us, Alex is here. We can all go together."

"Ahh forgive me brother in law," Eyan handed Nyo the game and stood up to welcome Alex.

"Sis, I'm having a lunch meeting with the staff. Maybe next time. Nyo it's time to go. We can play again another day."

"Fine, but you must come when Zunnie sis does. You always come when I'm not home." Nyo demanded and everyone in the room laughed.

"I'll make sure he comes. Are you done? We should go now, you must be hungry." Zunnie said as she packed Nyo's things.

"Zunnie sis you're the best. I will play later." Nyo said and for the first time since they walked in lifted his head from the game he had been playing.

His eye grew wide as he looked past Zunnie. His chubby cheeks grew red when the other person in the room smiled at him. Nyo walked over to where Zunnie had been standing and tugged at her arm shyly like he had been caught doing something bad.

"I know you!" He said proudly pointing to Alex.
