"Hola, Harrold! It's nice to see you again!"
Those words were fake. I knew it.
"Alicia. You too, Darling. But under these circumstances, not so much. I love to pronounce that if you don't pay this, your restaurant will be shut down. Unless you marry a big time billionaire, which is impossible unless you marry me," Harrold said, smirking as he got closer into her face.
"Ew. Harrold. I would rather marry a rabid dog than marry you. Why are you even doing this to me! My restaurant has great numbers! I only rejected you seven times! You are a billionaire and bank attendant of some sort! And this is how far you'll go for a yes for marraige or love or even a girlfriend? This is stupid!" Alicia shouted, crossing her arms.
My foot was nudged and my attention was brought to the people across from me. Sophia gestured towards Alicia, who was still screaming with the business man. "Help her out. You could save her from him, love wise, and business wise, Kai!"
"You're right!" I said, getting up and walking over to Alicia, wrapping my arm around her waist. Her head snapped towards me in surprise.
"Is there a problem here, baby?" I asked, quirking and eyebrow.
"No, honey. In fact, we were just sorting out personal issues," Alicia said, smiling at me.
Harrold pointed at me. "This. Is your boyfriend?"
I quickly pulled out Jenny's old ring and slipped it on to Alicia's finger. I drug my hand up her arm and back down, showing him the ring. "No, Harrold, I am her fiancé."
"Prove it." Harrold glared, crossing his arms.
"Alright." I shrugged and turned around, placing my hand on Alicia's cheek. Her eyes wide and innocent. I pressed my lips onto hers, feeling the softness of hers, and the warmth of her tongue against mine. She kissed back, wrapping her hands around my neck. The cold metal of the ring made my skin shiver as her nails dug into my skin.
"Alright, enough! Enough!" Harrold shouted.
"What? Can't bare to see that your attempts to destroy my life's work for rejecting you have failed because my fiancé loves me?" Alicia smirked as she pulled me into another kiss.
Harrold looked at me in anger. "Just... Stop! You need to pay this by the end of this month, or your restaurant will be mine!"
Alicia took the bill. Her eyes widened. "No! this can't be real. This is extremely expensive!"
"How much, baby?" I asked, grabbing the paper from her hand.
"500,000 dollars. I can't pay that in a month! I make at least 350 dollars a week!" Alicia groaned, frowning.
"I got it, baby. Don't worry." I pulled out my wallet and gave him the money in cash. "Now leave her alone, prick."
Harrold snatched the cash and turned around and stomped out of the restaurant.
"Ugh. Thank you, Señor! Is there any way I could repay your for saving my Café?" Alicia asked, biting her lip again, toying with the ring on her finger.
I smirked and pulled her close. "Actually, Senorita, there is."
"There is?" Alicia asked, a little scared of my reply.
"I need your help..."
Since she was on duty, she asked me to meet her on her break, which was in a few minutes. I nodded and she brought us our food, sitting in next to me in the booth with Sophia, Taylor, and I.
"So, your situation?" She asked, snatching one of Taylor's fries.
"Hey!"
"Yes, Ma'am. So, my ex-fiance left me for my brother, which makes him Chairman of my father's company when he retires. I need a wife to help me take that spot back. And I think you're the perfect one. It's not a permanent thing. It's only for a few years until we can divorce. I'll pay for it, fully."
"Alright, Señor. I accept the proposal. If it's to pay you back." Alicia smiled again, her lips looked tempting.
"Great. We move you in after your shift. When does it end?" I asked, grazing her hand with my own.
Her cheeks flushed a bit as she turned away. "Sinco (Five). See you soon, 'Mi Amor' ('My Love')."
"I wish I knew Spanish, love. I guess you'll have to give me private lessons. Now, get back to work. Pick you up when you get off," I said, eating the last bite of my food as she stood up. She nodded and walked away, her hips grasping my eyes' attention as they swayed left to right.
"That was hot dude, I watch the way you two made out over there! And now you're getting married!" Taylor beamed.
Sophia sighed and smacked the back of his head. "Shut it, you fool! Great job on not failing like a jackass, Kai!"
I drew back, pretending to be offended. "Wow. Thanks, Sophia. Love you, too."
"And she jokingly called you, 'her love'." Sophia said, doing the finger air quotes.
"That's what 'Mi Amor' means?" I asked, looking up in thought.
"Oh, my, God. You're an idiot. I'm a Latina, dumbass!" Sophia pinched the bridge of her nose as she pulled out her wallet and threw a 50 dollar bill onto the table. Taylor did the same. "Well, I better run, cuz. Chiao (Bye)."
Taylor eyed Sophia's rear end as she walked away. I shook my head and chuckled, waiting for five o'clock to roll around.
When it did, Alicia walked out of the building, locking it shut. She turned around and looked at me. Her deep chocolate brown eyes locked with my blue ones. And some how, she had the most beautiful brown eyes I have ever seen. "Hola, Señor! Ready?"
"Yes we are, darling~" I cooed, pinching her chin. Her eyes widened and her cheeks flushed red. She gave a small smirk and nodded. I chuckled and opened the limousine door for her. She climbed in and sat onto the seat, patting it with her own hands to feel the squishy part of the seat.
I followed her into the limousine and Alicia's eyes followed my body. She bit her lip and averted her gaze.
"My address is on Walnut Street. Fifth house on the right," Alicia mumbled, twiddling her hands together.
I smiled and wrapped my arm around her shoulders. "Yes, love. We'll be there in a bit."
The ride felt as if it couldn't be any longer. Alicia fell asleep, leaning her head on my shoulder. I smiled and drug my arm from her shoulders to her hair. It was super soft and curly. I ran my fingers through her strands. Her hair straightened in my hand and bounced back to its curl when I let go.
When the car stopped, Alicia slowly woke up, a yawn leaving her mouth as she stretched, bringing her shirt up from her stomach a little bit. I licked my teeth and smirked, liking what I see.
"Ah, this is my stop, Señor! My stuff is inside!" Alicia chirped, opening up the door and skipping to her front door. I followed with a laugh, loving the way she was happy.
"I don't have very much, so this will be very quick. And please be quiet, my father should be asleep!" Alicia whispered, placing an index finger to her lips.
I nodded and followed her inside. Her home was small and very packed with stuff that wasn't a hard working woman's.
Then she dropped to her knees and screamed. In front of the woman, was a dead puppy.
