Chapter 1 - Chapter 1

"What made you ever think you were qualified to be by my side?" the man sneered before fading into the darkness together with a girl clinging onto his arm.

Qian Zihan abruptly woke up in a cold sweat. Ah, I had that dream again. What a bad way to start the day, she sighed. For months, she had helped Hang Ke until he finally reached Challenger rank. When he finally made it to challenger rank, she baked him a cake for a celebration, just to see him rolling around in his bed with another woman. Devastated, she asked him why, and got "What made you every think you were qualified to be by my side?" as a response.

Shaking her head, she quickly ate breakfast reminding herself that she still had to stream. As a girl who looked cute, could sing, dance, and was one of the top League of Legends players, she was even more popular than some of the pros. Unfortunately, she was not good with words, which lead to others giving her the nickname BingBing, which translated to ice. She was originally in Challenger, but sacrificed hundreds of League Points (LP) to help Hang Ke reach Challenger, eventually dropping into Master Rank. Pulling her phone out, she texted her best friend and duo partner- Claire. Claire is the one who introduced her to League and even made a new smurf so they could climb back to Challenger together. Her League of Legends username was Diffusion, which matched her ambitions.

When everything was ready, Zihan turned on the livestream. Opening up the chat, she was confused when she saw at the large amount of comments criticizing about NES. NES stood for Never Ending Stage, and it was a well-known fact that she was a die-hard fan of this team, or more specifically, their ADC. NES had won 2 world championships during their peak and they have Umi- the best ADC in the world. He was the first pro player that she had watched, and watching him play cheered her up and motivated her to improve even more. Umi's identity has been shrouded like a mystery and apart from the team, no one has managed to find out his real identity.

Curious about all the criticism, she googled "NES" and the articles that popped up surprised her. The articles were titled: "NES Loss Due To Feeding Support","The Downfall Of NES", "Was NES's Support Bribed?", "NES Failed to Qualify for the MSI", etc. Swiftly reading through the articles, she went on the official website and saw the results of yesterday's game.

NES lost 0-3.

She instantly refreshed the page, but deep down she knew that the results wouldn't change. Even though NES was on the decline, it was the first time they failed to qualify for the Mid Season Invitationals (MSI).

Zihan slumped into her chair and was in a daze until she heard Claire calling her. Trying to recollect herself, she entered the lobby and selected Support for her first choice and Mid for her second choice while Claire chose ADC as her first choice and Support for her second choice.

When the queue finally popped up, she was devastated to find out that Diffusion was auto-filled into Jungle. Another player called 0424 was ADC. Even though the probability of 0424 switching roles with Diffusion was low, they still asked him.

Diffusion: Hey, 0424 can you trade roles with me?

Zihan: Yeah, we're a duo. Please?

0424: No.

Wow, does he have to be so conservative with his words? Who does he think he is, the emperor? Feeling kind of irritated, Zihan quickly brought up his match history. Quickly scanning through his match history, she found out that 0424 never played Xayah in a match before. And in the last second, Zihan locked in Rakan- the support that had perfect synergy with Xayah.
