In a dark room, Wu Zhang's eyelids twitched before he finally opened his eyes to be greeted by darkness. His whole body was hurting, but what hurt the most was his head. He tried to reach for his temples to massage them, but he failed to move his hands. It took him a minute to realize that his hands were tied with ropes that were connected with two hoops on the walls on either side of him, while his feet were tied together.
He blinked a few times to adjust to the darkness and then pushed himself back to sit against the cold wall, resting his head against it. He was still in a daze when the wooden door to the room opened and he lifted his head to see who it was, to only be felt blinded by the sudden intrusion of light from the outside; making him squinch his eyes close.
