Chapter 63 - Presscon (1)

"GreenEast is holding their Press Conference NOW! Bring in the TV! QUICK!!!!!"

"What!? It should be in several days I even set an alarm!"

Shizu looked around in confusion. The whole studio stopped whatever they were doing. She then turned her head and looked at Lee Changhyuk who was organizing some costumes beside her. She raised an eyebrow and abruptly grabbed his arm to gain his attention.

"Yes?" He turned his head and looked at her like a patient adult tendering a confused child. He liked that she was holding his arm yet his expression was calm and neutral. She could not tell what's inside his head. Before she opened her mouth- the noise continued.

"You are right, they are streaming it!!!"

"Not TV! Someone get the projector!! We need an HD experience! They go LIVE for the first time since hiatus!!!!"

Shizu dropped her jaw and stared at Lee Changhyuk with a full judgmental look. Wait, a press conference? But Lee Changhyuk was standing next to her!!! She was pointing her finger at him then at the large screen repeatedly. Her brows were shot up.

"Lee Changhyuk, aren't you supposed to be there? Who are you? You're an impostor, aren't you?" She knew she sounded really riddiculous, but the fact that GreenEast was having a press conference without Lee Changhyuk was just as unbelievable.

Unless.... The presscon was recorded in advance! No, that as well, was impossible. The presscon was surely airing live, how in the world he could be standing next to her!?

Lee Changhyuk almost cracked up but he could only grin from ear to ear then lightly shrugged his shoulder.

"Who knows."

The filming crew quickly set up a white screen and projected the presscon. People started to gather and seated themself to watch one of the historical moments in the entertainment industry.

GreenEast was more than a star. They were an icon and looked up to by many people. They were the one who started the charity trends among other stars and widely known for fighting against bullying.

Last year, thanks to the collaboration they did with the United Nation, the percentage of people going to college rose significantly in Japan, South Korea and China.

Their reputation and popularity was so good that the public trusted them so much. It was scary how a lot of enterprises offered them shares because whenever their name was listed as a shareholder, the stock rocketed.

It wasn't a surprise that GreenEast members owned shares of many big enterprises. Kim Yoonjae, Han Ryeowook and Lee Changhyuk were known as excellent trio that could foresee the trend of the future. It was also what started the feud with StarLord Entertainment and forced them to disappear from the screen for one year. But of course, only a handful of people knew about this fact.

The true King that ruled over other Kings. The highest star that the history ever recorded. A single word from their mouth was an absolute law that can bring glory or wave to even the biggest corporations. Even after one year of disappearance from the screen no one was close enough to steal the throne from them.

Will the King fight for their throne, or give up on their sovereignty?

The bigscreen showed a stage with an empty table. Below the stage, big numbers of reporters impatiently filled the area. A reporter on screen was making some predictions on how GreenEst will announce their decision.

Shizu hesitantly looked at Lee Changhyuk and said nothing. She was dying to watch the presscon. But would it be a good idea for him to watch the presscon in the middle of a crowd? Should she take him out of the room and hide him from everyone? Who knows what chaos would come if the announcement was off.

Her big eyes gave out too much. Lee Changhyuk could always tell what's inside her head without saying anything. The magnae tilted his head towards the bigscreen, showing off his sharp jawline that could cut the sky.

"Shall we?" His voice was soft and calming.

She nodded her head without hesitation, was glad that Lee Changhyuk was the one who initiated to watch. She grabbed Lee Changhyuk's hand then led him to sit in front of the large screen that was set up by the RHK crew. Avoiding the crowd, they placed themselves at the back row.

He obediently followed the milk girl and sat beside her. Those sharp eyes were fixing its gaze on the screen and slowly that playful smile disappeared from his face.

----------------------

Han Ryeowook took a quick glance at the designer watch on his wrist. He could hear the noise from the crowd who was getting impatient for the presscon. His phone was ringing nonstop and vibrating like crazy, but he did not pick any of it.

The most reputable security company was hired to secure the presscon. Those people looked more like military soldiers than mere bodyguards. He could tell that most tv stations have started to go on air. Unless 'they' wanted to be disclossed to the public, 'they' should not attack him under the spotlight.

He was the leader of the most influential boyband on the planet.

His dark brown hair was styled in a way that made him look like a neat executive. That expensive cut and midnight blue sheen of his suit fit that masculine figure perfectly. Exactly the sort of thing that you would want for your man in a formal event. Handsome, dashing, expensive and manly.

He was alone in the men's room, drowning in his own thoughts, tapping his fingers nervously on the marble sink. This reminded him of the moment before their debut stage.

A special notification distracted him from his bottomless thoughts. It was a message notification from GreenEast group chat. He unlocked the phone and saw the message that was sent by Kim Yoonjae.

It was a picture of the World Time magazine cover where they were nominated as ones of the most influential men in the world.

They all mattered.

Ryeowook took a deep breath, he closed his eyes for 5 seconds and suddenly the air around him changed.

There was no hesitation on that face. He raised his head up. His eyes were flaring with grace and arrogance yet covered with subtle humility of a King. He tilted his head as he fixed the necktie on his collar, his jawline was sharp it could break heaven. He turned off the phone then put it back to his pocket.

Han Ryeowook, the supreme leader of GreenEast walked out.

Blinding flashes greeted him, followed by the loud screams and noisy chatter. Different emotions hiding between the deep hazel hues: arrogance and determination.

The reporters held their breaths in anticipation. The mighty leader did not lose his domineering elegance. A combination of chants and shouts from reporters filled the air, asking him to strike a pose.

Everyone was left stunned by his unworldly appeal. His sturdy form looked dazzling under the spotlight. High bridged nose of the royalty, long lashes that framed his unbelievably sharp and clear eyes.

He would stop from time to time to lightly smile to the reporters as he walked to greet them. As he reached the stage, he gave the audience a deep, ninety degree bow. After a while, he straightened up and took a seat.

"Why are you alone?"

"Does it mean, you guys are disbanding?"

"Is it true Lee Changhyuk and Son Kangyu caused the disbandment?"

"StarLord Entertainment is preparing DazzLing to sit on the empty throne!"

"Why won't StarLord Entertainment acknowledge this press conference?"

"A lot of people called you guys liar!"

"The amount of your haters grow bigger. Some people don't look at you as the King anymore. How do you feel?"

"Kim Yoonjae is undergoing another plastic surgery to prepare for the battle with DazzLing's Kang Yeon, isn't he!?"

"You are betraying your fans!"

In the public eye, no matter how high they were soaring- comparing a newcomer like DazzLing with a royal veteran like GreenEast was a big insult, especially when the two were born from the same company. The reporters were hyped up, expecting him to lose himself, the King hasn't shown himself for such a long time.

But when they saw his placid face was nonchalantly cold, they shivered. His eyes were as calm as the lazy cloud and as clear as the undisturbed crystal pond.

Everyone came into a realization.

The throne was never empty. The Kings were always there, silently watching how the other big-shots move, quietly growing their own empire.

He was Han Ryeowook. The man who led a group of sensational rebels and sat firmly on the throne. They knew he had gone under storms and thunders to bring GreenEast to the spotlight. They were now, the thunders itself.

He put a simple smile on his face then grabbed the microphone in front of him.

"Good morning everyone. I would like to thank you for coming to our press conference. I apologize for the sudden change of time and place.

On behalf of GreenEast I would like to thank StarLord Entertainment for the endless support and made us who we are now. However we realized that we no longer have the same vision that is quite vital. We have tried to find the middle ground but unfortunately the door was never open. As the result, for the good of both parties- we are announcing that GreenEast is terminating the contract with StarLord Entertainment and will continue to work as a group of 5 for the love of our fans.

We did not want to make you wait and decided to make this announcement, hoping that we could make a come-back as soon as possible. We apologize for everything but also would like to thank you from the deepest of our heart for believing us.."

"Yaaaaaayyy!!!!!" The people were screaming for joy. Confetti were thrown. They were clapping their hands, rejoicing the statement from Han Ryeowook.
