Yawned.
Kira had only managed to get 3 hours of sleep for the last 2 days.
"They rushed Kumo Bell's schedule, didn't they?"
"Yeah, the vocalist asked the manager to finish everything soon so that he could go back early today. From what I heard, today is his girlfriend's birthday."
"Poor girl."
"Well, she's dating a celebrity you know."
Yep, Shizu was turning 17 on that day. Kira had planned a romantic birthday celebration right after his debut, but he had to bail due to his busy schedule and that really upset him.
Even though he said he could not make it, he did not cancel the restaurant reservation because he knew that Shizu would still come. That's why he did everything he could to surprise her.
"Okay, we're done for today. Good job everyone!" said the photographer.
Kira exhaled. He was mentally and physically tired but a faint smile appeared on his face when he saw the time.
8pm.
The award-winning restaurant that he booked was nearby, he could catch his girlfriend soon. He threw away the photoshoot prop then left but Natsu the manager grabbed his shoulder.
"Man, one of our biggest sponsors is launching a product tomorrow and they requested us to do a last minute interview for endorsing them. We.."
Kira slapped Natsu's hand from his shoulder then glared at him.
"Please tell me that you are joking."
Natsu shook his head, there was no way he forgot about his promise to Kira, he desperately asked the entire team to clear his schedule no matter what for wednesday night but in the end the sponsor was too important that they might complain to the company and ask for the compensation for breaching the contract.
"Kira, it's the Toya Company. 30 minutes and you're off." Natsu begged.
Kira held tight the small velvet box that he kept in his pocket, then looked at his other band members.
His other team members shrugged, Kira could leave if he wanted to. But he took a long deep breath then exhaled. He would never put his band members at risk.
"30 minutes it is."
(meanwhile)
Shizu was staring at the sky. She put her right hand up as she tried to reach the moon. She was dining in the highest floor of the tallest building in Tokyo. She put on some makeup and wore a black turtle-neck dress. She prepared the dress since 3 months ago right after Kira informed her that he was taking her to the tallest building on her birthday.
She was a skinny girl but had relatively a good posture so anything would look good on her. She had prepared for this moment so much that she felt it would be a waste if she did not go. Her natural big pinky lips pouted as she saw her phone rang.
"Hello?"
"Hi Shizu, did you like my present?"
Shizu took a glance at GreenEast's limited edition album on the table then chuckled.
"Yes Mika, I am so listening to it everyday for the rest of my life. Thank you so much, you're the best!"
"Yeah, I'm sorry that I could not keep you company. My little sister suddenly got ill I had to take her to the hospital. I can still go there when my mom gets here though.."
"Mika, don't.. Your sister needs you. I'll see you tomorrow, ok? I'm hanging up, speak soon."
Shizu then took a quick glance at her couple necklace. It was a black rope with Kira's initial. Kira also owned and wore a similar one.
She then remembered that one sweet moment when Kira just debuted with his band. He got very insecure because he was so busy and could not spend his time with Shizu as much as before debut.
"Let's get married, Shizu. How does that sound to you?"
"We're still in high school you know."
"So what? We're graduating next year, and we'll stay together until we're super old. Getting married now or later won't make any difference."
Kira's face was all serious leaving her speechless, but then she bursted out laughing.
"Laugh all you want and I'll make you speechless with my ultimate proposal." He got annoyed.
"Then I'll be waiting."
Ah, some good memories. She then held the album of GreenEast and grinned.
"Oh well, at least Ryeowook is now here with me."
Shizu was not one who liked Korean boybands but she was willing to listen to all songs from GreenEast.
GreenEast was rated as the most talented boyband in Asia who offered more than just pretty face. Shizu would fangirl over the 5 membered boyband especially Ryeowook, the leader of GreenEast.
They were so popular in Asia that they released some albums in Japanese and Mandarin. A Japanese limited edition album like the one given by Mika was very rare and pricey, that's why Shizu was so grateful that she received one as a present. She was holding a 'gem'.
A waiter with a goatee came and served her some créme brulée. She tasted a spoonfull then immediately shut her eyes.
It was so yummy!
The cream was so soft that it melted in her mouth. She took her phone to take a photo and send it to Kira but she ran out of battery.
Shizu shrugged her shoulders and continued to devour the french dessert.
.....
Nothing could express Kira's emotion right now. The 30 minute interview turned into a 2.5 hour commercial shot. It was 11.30pm. They just finished with the interview. He grabbed his jacket and beanie hat then left the studio without saying anything.
He was waiting for the Taxi, but after several minutes he got impatient and decided to run.
The night breeze in January was chilly. He could see his breath coming out of his mouth as he ran. Every second felt like hours, he missed Shizu. He missed pinching her chubby cheeks and talking to her for hours especially now that he had not heard her voice since his visit to school.
It was 11.50pm when he finally arrived at the restaurant. The most annoying part was when he waited for the elevator to come down and went up. It really felt like forever.
Kira took a deep breath and took off his beanie. He was sweating from running but also felt cold from the harsh weather. A middle-aged male host appeared and greeted him.
"Good evening sir, I'm afraid we're closing in 10 minutes. How may I assist you?"
Kira pulled his hair back then smiled at the host.
"Hi, I need to see someone, can you let me in?"
