"RUN!" I heard someone shout. I was in the woods, running as fast as I could. I stopped to catch my breath, when I heard a baby crying behind a nearby bush. As I slowly approached the bush, the crying stopped.
When I peeked behind the bush, I saw a blanket, but no baby. I reached down to pick it up, but when I did it was suddenly covered in blood. I screamed.
I turned around to run, but then I heard a young child laughing. I looked around and saw no one. I turned back to the blanket to pick it up and screamed.
It was Aden. But at the same time it wasn't. She looked pale, and sickly. Her laugh was high pitched and childish, but the next second it was deep and demon like.
"Why couldn't you save me, sister?" Aden's demonic double said. "I thought you loved me."
I felt a wet liquid on my face. I reached up, expecting tears. My fingers came back blood red.
"I thought you loved me." Aden said again.
"I do." I said, starting to cry. "I'm sorry I couldn't save you."
"I THOUGHT YOU LOVED ME."
"I do."I said, falling down in tears. "I'm so sorry."
"No you're not." Aden sounded even more like a demon.
Blood started pouring out of my eyes like tears faster and faster. Blood came from my nose, dripping down in fat drops. I stood still, unable to move.
And suddenly, I was in the bed. There was no blood. There was no demonic Aden. It was just a dream.
Adrian was sitting at the foot of my bed. He looked at me. "You're awake."
"How long was I asleep?" I asked.
"Five hours, 32 minutes, and forty five seconds." He replied.
"Were you counting?"
"I was asked to watch you, Annalise."
"By who?"
"By me." A voice entered the room. The woman that entered was of average height and average build, but she was also very beautiful. She had the same bright green eyes that Aden and I shared. They were framed by long black lashes. her lips were pink and plump. She was basically an older, prettier version of me. She radiated power.
"And who are you?" I asked.
"Your older sister, the queen."
Damn. Again?
