Chapter 21: Lost History
Orion sat in awe as the high god spoke of the forgotten history of the universe. He listened intently as the old man recounted tales of the heavenly monarch who had risen up during the dark era, a time when humans were nothing more than livestock.
"People were eaten by alien races, and many human planets suffered," the high god said, his voice filled with a sense of sorrow. "It was the heavenly monarch who sheltered all humans, and he was a being from Earth."
Orion was surprised to hear that the heavenly monarch was from Earth, just like him. He wondered if there was some kind of connection between the two of them.
The high god noticed Orion's surprise and interest and continued his tale.
"The heavenly monarch was a being of great power and wisdom," the high god said. "He taught the humans many things, including the art of war, which helped them defend themselves against the alien races that sought to prey on them."
Orion was fascinated by the story and asked the high god about the attainments in understanding the universe.
The high god smiled, pleased by Orion's curiosity. "Ah, yes. The heavenly monarch was also a great scholar, and he taught the humans many things about the universe."
The old man went on to explain some of the things the heavenly monarch had taught the humans, including the principles of physics and the workings of the universe.
Orion listened carefully, absorbing every word. He had always been interested in science and physics, and the high god's stories only served to fuel his curiosity.
As they spoke, the other members of the team watched in awe. They had never seen Orion so engaged and interested in something before.
Zara leaned over to Maya. "I've never seen him like this. It's like he's in a trance."
Maya nodded, her eyes fixed on Orion. "He's always been interested in science and physics, but I've never seen him this passionate before."
Jake grinned. "Maybe we should bring him to more alien planets. He seems to be in his element here."
The high god chuckled at their conversation, his eyes twinkling with amusement. "Your friend is a remarkable young man. He has a thirst for knowledge and a hunger for adventure that is rare in this universe."
Orion blushed at the high god's words, feeling a sense of pride wash over him.
The conversation continued for hours, with the high god regaling the team with tales of forgotten history and ancient wisdom. As the sun began to set, the team realized they had been in the palace for much longer than they had intended.
"We should be going," Maya said, standing up from her seat.
The high god nodded, his gaze fixed on Orion. "It was a pleasure speaking with you, young one. I have a feeling our paths will cross again someday."
Orion smiled, feeling a sense of connection with the old man. "Thank you for sharing your wisdom with us. It has been an honor to meet you."
As they made their way out of the palace, Orion couldn't help but feel a sense of nostalgia. He wondered what other forgotten secrets the universe held and what other beings like the high god were out there.
The team walked through the bustling streets of the alien city, their minds filled with thoughts of the ancient wisdom they had just learned.
Orion turned to his friends, a sense of determination filling him. "We have a mission to complete, but we should never forget the knowledge we have gained here today. We have a responsibility to use our power and knowledge for good, just like the heavenly monarch did."
The team nodded, their minds filled with thoughts of the future and the possibilities that lay ahead.
As they walked back to the Phoenix, Orion felt a sense of excitement building inside him
