(it has been only a day since and I finally understood the difference between large scale and small scale skirmishes . there was literally nothing I could do to help the situation , whereas In a small skirmish i could at least do something. if I were to go out now, I would become a porcupine and that would be the end of me .)
( for the entirety of the day , our enemies archers stood at standstill , to release arrows if they were machines . only a fellow archers would know the pain of having to stand at ready shooting at a still target . )
( one of the major problem was the pit , while it gave us protection it took away our prime source of attack which were the archers . if I were to send out my troops , they all would be butchered in matter of minutes , even with the genius commanding of jack . )
( I have to tell you about Jack's genius commanding skills . the only reason we managed to even hurt out enemies was due to him . he has been busy since the starting using the sting wolves to annoy the archers who would have destroyed the wall pretty soon . they had a kind of acid arrow which was corroding our wall bit by bit . the archers we had mentioned them as a staple in wars and had been used from who know when . Jack has been using the sting wolves and kept them distracted . )
( the funny thing was that the enemy had actually neglected the sting wolves , until jack managed to sneak a few of them into the Archer squad . even I wasn't sure of exactly how they entered . but he managed to cause significant losses on our enemy . but even with that we must have lost most of our enemies fear with our momentum . they have been attacking us for so long and we could not even afford a proper counter attack . all they needed was to destroy the wall and they could release rains of arrows into the pit and we would die of instantly . the wall could handle maybe another hour of continuous acid arrow . luckily , jack was doing all he could to hold them . he had managed to neutralise their army with close to three hundred sting wolves . I didn't know how jack was commanding them but I knew that he was doing a really good job as not even I could make them so nimble . but the wolves were dwindling , the originally three hundred strong army was already down to one fifty and even this would be gone soon as jack was getting tired. )
(we needed a miracle to survive , as of now I was literally working all round the clock to prepare our trump card , actually two to be honest . )
jack - how long
me - most of them are ready , but we still need to make the archers do their things . if it works then we can atleast hope we can live for another day at least for another day . it might even collapse the enemy army.
jack - whatever , just do it quickly . my speech is already gone . I don't know how long I can last .
me - half an hour , tops . I am pretty sure you can handle it up there
jack - okay I can handle it but hurry up , I might just end up burning up with the rate I am going .
me - don't worry I will take care of it .( leaving my lab , a part of the pit at the very edge with one side facing the wall of the pit. . where I was storing most of my experiment , Including my diamond undead . only jack was allowed in here , mainly because I didn't really trust my enemy archers , they might hate their commander and seemed to be fully working with us , but they were still soldiers . you could never trust your enemy or you would understand that truth too late )
( as I was saying before , I was leaving the lab to the place where the archers had settled . it was a place near the center of the pit , a place where they could easily set a perimeter , making sure that I could not surprise attack them. I couldn't even use the AOE attacks because they had anti magic arrows , which on hindsight was something I should have not returned to them . why our enemy didn't just attack us directly I could not understand , but it was our luck . )
Archer 1 (arbitrarily named )- what can we do for you .
me - I need you to as I say
( after roughly fifteen minutes , I was floating up the pit walls with a bow in my hands and a bag of arrows tied to to my waist .)
( the outside was worse than I was expecting it to be , the trees which brownish in colour had become black in many areas with little to no possibility of recovery , the outside was full of arrows was all I could say . it was like a blanket covering the ground . the archers were surrounded by a lot of shield men and the archers were continuously releasing arrows into the air . most of the sting wolves were dodging the arrows with extreme accuracy but once in a while a a sting wolf would slow down suddenly and get hit .the force if the arrow was enough to break the sting wolf into its parts . )
( jack was in a bad and shitty situation . he was clearing on the verge of burning out , which was something that no man would wish on his worst enemies . I will tell you what it is when I have more free time because now is definitely not a good time .)
( anyways , we were really in a shitty situation as our enemies had nearly destroyed all the sting wolves . )
( naturally taking a deep breath , calming my nerves and looking at my foes . )
( there were a lot of arrows in the air . a single stray arrow was enough to screw up my aim. even I who had god given talent in archery was not sure if my arrows would hit their target . )
( luckily I had to shoot at three targets and I had nine arrows . one of the targets was in middle of their camp another at the edge right next to a solitary tent and the last in middle of the archers . once i hit all three a very interesting thing was about to happen )
( my first target was in middle of the archers which was the easiest shot I could make , the air had some fifty arrows aimed at the sting wolves at any given moment , I could not see a clear path for my arrow to pass through , undisturbed . In this kind of confusing state I shot my arrow which changed direction after colliding with another arrow and almost hit my target )
( the second arrow hit it's target , though I must say quite the bit of luck was involved . )
(the second target was a bit trickier , because the distance involved was right in my range . any beyond it and my arrow could simply not reach it , if my strength I could increase this range . )
( I won't bore you with this detail but I hit the second target with the seventh arrow , all the other arrows fell short of their targets and one knocked of its course . the third target was the easiest so I was sure that I could get it in two arrows and then we won't need to worry about our enemy for at least a day . )
( meanwhile , in the tent )
shadow - quickly get your shield ( seeing blacksword about to open his mouth ) don't ask me why . follow me .

me - you see that tent over there near the end of camp , I need to shoot a arrow at exactly the spot he is standing . ( jack looks at the spot I was talking about and he gets suprised ,looking at my other targets . )
jack - you want to form a triumvirate , where did you even get the materials for it .
me - one , yes it is the triumvirate two , not even you can screw up a formation do bad that nothing is left behind , i have been using the mindsong crystals of the formation that you so graciously screwed up. those were the only thing salvagable from the formation . I could have done way more terrifying stuff if you were just a bit more careful .
jack - okay kid , no need to rub salt into old wounds .tell me how do you plan to take care of our major obstruction .
me - I have no idea , no actually wait second , ( i kept staring at black swords place )

me - jack I have an idea , but if I use it I will become unconscious . you must activate the triumvirate when i become unconscious .
jack - don't your plans involve way too much fainting
me - can't do anything , most of my magic takes way too much magic , which I can't supply right now . the fortunate thing is even if this body is destroyed I will not need to worry . I just need another body

( I stopped talking as I took out both my remaining arrows . nocking both of them at a time , one arrow right below the other . the arrow that was above began to glow black . the arrow returned to normal except the tip , which retained it's black colour . )
me - let's hope my skill hasn't rusted too much ,
( I looked at my target , wit every bit of concentration I could muster . I could actually feel my other senses dull a bit , my sense of smell was definitely gone and my my sense of hearing was going . jacks seemed to be coming from a kilometre away , such that I couldn't even make out what he was saying . I think I told you all before. beings like us , our senses are the function of our soul , therefore we could enter a trance . we could enter it willingly , bit at a much higher rank like the fifth rank or so . )
any ways I looked at my target , which was being protected by blacksword , his shield covering my target . the arrows in the background seemed to be moving slower also )
( the feeling was hard to describe , it was a maybe a feeling of familiarity . maybe a feeling of pride but I think the best way to describe it is focus , as if nothing In the world existed but my target . any ways that is not necessary now us it . )
( I drew my arrow and pointed it towards blacksword , about to shoot . then changed the direction a bit , a bit left to my original target . taking in a deep breath ( from a non existent nose , of course . ) I released the string as I watched my arrows fly , pass through the maze of arrows right above the head of the general . but right before it was about to hit the general smack dab in his chest , the black glow on the arrow gather on and what's the best way to say it erupted , maybe blasted or simply exploded . I will stick with exploded . so the arrow exploded changing the arrows path with one still going towards the enemies general and the other, through his legs at the target . )
( the generals shield flew up , blocking the arrow about to to hit him . the second arrow managed to hit the target .)
me - jack , do it now ( I could barely stand right now . that single shot of mine was basically equivalent to me sitting for an entire day , no an entire week just doing maths . that's how much I was exhausted . it would have left lasting damage if I had not begun setting up my first base . )
( jack, whose hands had begun to glow black , then blue , then green as the the arrows on the ground began to glow as well , glowing brighter by the second almost on verge on verge of exploding . jack had begun chanting by now but I could not make out what he was saying by now , which meant my sense of hearing was failing . the fact that I wasn't unconscious yet showed you my progress since coming here . but I could feel the darkness coming . I let it come .
