Drrrrrr.
The sliding door slowly slid to the right, just as the teacher was about to say something. Heads turned, and there stood a high schooler, just the same age as almost everyone in the classroom.
There was a piercing silence, before the teacher, named Shogo Iwasa, turned slowly--- almost as if it was that of a rusty machine's---, and spoke very carefully.
"May I ask. Who are you to intrude during classes?" his tone was dead cold, and a shiver spread amongst the students.
"Ah..." the student went stiff. This was definitely not what he had in mind for an intro. He had run late because he had accidentally slept in. "I'm sorry... sir. Ahahaha.."
Mr. Iwasa stared at him, until he spoke.
"I think I remember." he sighed, and closed his eyes. "Are you the transfer student?"
The boy forced a smile and slowly nodded.
"Let me see." the teacher rifled through a stack of papers on his desk before settling on a crumpled and torn sheet of paper. The boy shuddered at the thought of how unkempt and intimidating the teacher was.
"Misao... Otsu?"
"Yes, sir."
"Whatever. Just sit over there behind Ms. Kikutake."
Misao swept a glance across the classroom. "Um... who's she?"
Mr. Iwasa glared at the piece of paper for a moment before pointing at a mint-haired girl. With cat ears. Cat. Ears.
Misao opened his mouth to speak but he felt a glare. Not from Mr. Iwasa, but the mint-haired girl. Kikutake.
He siddled over to his new seat and looked over Kikutake's shoulder. When he looked back down he saw her fiery red eyes.
"ARGHHHHHH" he abruptly stood up, his arm in a defensive stance.
"Are you nuts?" the person beside him hissed, her hair coiled into buns on either side of her head. Her beady black eyes staring right through him. "Kikutake can manipulate you! Don't get on her bad side!"
He shivered for the third time in class. What sort of classroom is this?!
Mr. Iwasa didn't even spare a glance, and plopped down on his chair.
"Hey. Class-G. Introduce yourselves in front."
A girl stood up gracefully, her wavy blue hair pinned down only at the front bouncning up and down. Her sparkling aquamarine eyes filling her surroundings with joy. "Hi guys! I won't be the first to introduce, but Sir Iwasa, will it be okay if I handle the nominations?"
Mr. Iwasa was agasp. He had never met such a radiant(and probably really irritating) student that was so willing to do things HE was obligated to do. He grasped this chance and said "Go ahead."
The girl sparkled even more, and Misao felt his spirits lift only a bit.
"I will prioritize the brown-hair on the second row! After all, he's the only new student here!"
Misao froze. Did he hear right?
There was a moment of contemplation before he said: "Um... what?"
"Haha! You're funny, you know?" she giggled. "I meant introductions! Of course, we know your name, but we don't know anything else! Tell us about it!"
He slumped, wanting to go back to his shell and never come back out again.
Clang!
He turned back to Kikutake's direction, where she was now holding a pipe.
Misao crumbled. Not literally.
"Where the heck did you get that?" he hurriedly asked.
"My bag" she said nonchalantly.
"Oh my! Hama! You don't need to force him!" the bright girl interjected, now coming up front, where the teacher is now secretly playing a mobile game. "Haha!"
Misao stood up, and adjusted his collar, looking for a possible escape route.
"My name... is Misao... Otsu Misao..."
"Great!" she replied. "Now tell us more about yourself!"
