Chapter 9 - Advanced hunters and a corpse without valuable remains.

The sun was beginning to come out again in the abandoned city and a group of hunters who carried swords and weapons of primitive style but very powerful, which were able to kill without any problem the low-ranking monsters that inhabited the city. This group was beginning to enter the city in ruins with the aim of finding something that was in it.

[Captain please answer, how's the situation going there?]

A man of Asian nationality answered the radio observing the ruins of the cities which were illuminated by the first rays of the sun.

"Here Tusokimi, we arrived in the city in perfect condition, the target will soon be captured." (Tusokimi)

[Copied, good luck in your hunt. Over and out]

"Amiya, Inuka, Asaki, begin to investigate the area and confirm the possible position of the target." (Tusokimi)

"Understood." (Inuka)

"Copied and received." (Amiya)

"Ahhhh, I hate this job." (Asaki)

Asaki. A 19-year-old young man belonging to the group of special hunters since he was 17 years old, he was the specialist in tracking and determining the threats of the targets, he was also a carrier of a special spear which emitted electric shocks and paralyzed his targets, despite this he hated his job as a tracker, so he did not always follow the orders.

"Come on, asaki, we will not get paid this month if we do not try harder." (Amiya)

"It's true, I remind you that last month's hunting, the "target" managed to flee to the Black Sea." (Inuka)

Inuka. Was a young woman of 30 years of age, who carried a heavy bow that threw turns of electricity against the "Objectives" that they should hunt and bring alive to their contractor.

"If you all keep talking, I'll shoot your legs and leave you lying here ... understood?" (Tusokimi)

Tusokimi. As the leader of the group, he carried a sword and a shield of electricity which when hit by the enemies suffered an electric shock, Tusokimi was also known for his bad character and absolute obedience to his contractor until the contract was fulfilled.

"Let's concentrate on the work, and then we can discuss mistakes in the hunt, okay?" (Amiya)

Amiya, a 22-year-old girl, was the most recent member the group had received. Amiya is an expert in explosives and large-caliber weapons, so her hunting methods are shooting at long distances to avoid direct confrontation with the "Objectives" although they did not always fall asleep with the first shot.

Asaki observed the city for a long time from the roofs of the old buildings and managed to find a track that would take them directly to the target in the least amount of time possible.

"Captain, I have a very big track." (Asaki)

"The objective is visible by there?" (Tusokimi)

"Negative, but I think if we follow the track, it will eventually make us reach our goal." (Asaki)

"mmmm very well, let's start following the track that Asaki found, the faster we finish, the faster we can go and get paid." (Tusokimi)

The group of 4 people began to follow the enormous stretch of ground and buildings destroyed left by the movement of the mysterious creature without knowing that they would encounter something totally different.

....

....

....

Berto watched as the sun on the horizon began to illuminate the city, he had spent all afternoon and evening removing scales, teeth and nails from the silver crocodile which the store in his inventory for future use.

"When I leave this city, I will create an ax with the scales, something strong and intimidating." (Berto)

Despite the fact that most of the cities in the world were in ruins, Berto knew that places like mountains, valleys and distant plains were places full of life which were also inhabited by humans, which would be a great change for him.

Berto carefully cut the scale from the edges separating it from the crocodile's flesh and stored it in his inventory finally having finished such an arduous task.

"It took me about 15 hours to remove the 513 scales of silver, teeth and claws of this monster ... I will regret if these things are weak and useless to make a weapon." (Berto)

Strangely, Berto did not feel hungry or thirsty or even had a little sleep on that full day of work to remove scales, teeth and claws.

He did not think much about it since probably that was also an effect of the armor. Although this process was commonly known as "Low digestion" so a human took longer than normal to process the food which keeps them satisfied for much longer while the previous food ingested was still digested by the stomach but at a speed reduced.

Berto washed his hands with a puddle of water that had stagnated in the street and looked at the sun smiling. Knowing that beyond there was a whole world waiting for it.

Berto shook his hands removing the excess water and prepared to start running at full speed.

"... if you are out there somewhere ... I hope that having abandoned me in that orphanage has been the right choice." (Berto)

Berto never knew his parents but even that fact continued to chase him like a ghost stuck to his back.

Berto more than anything wanted to know why he had been abandoned in an orphanage.

"It's time to go." (Berto)

Berto turned back and began to run at full speed taking enough impulse and jumping to the roof of one building to another, each landing on the roof due to the weight and the old buildings collapsed one after another behind him leaving huge clouds of dust and hundreds of monsters fleeing everywhere avoiding being crushed by debris.

....

....

....

The group of special hunters in the distance on the roof of a building noticed how in the distance one building after another collapsed for no apparent reason until Tusokimi took a pair of binoculars and noticed something jumping over the buildings.

"What is that?" (Tusokimi)

Tusokimi pressed a button in the binoculars and began to record to the mysterious figure jumping on the buildings moving away quickly and being lost in the distance covered by clouds of dust.

"Captain, was there something true?" (Asaki)

"I do not know what that was but it was clearly not human." (Tusokimi)

The group continued to follow the destroyed terrain until they finally reached the corpse of a gigantic monster whose teeth, claws and scales were missing.

"Here Tusokimi...we found the target ... I'm afraid it's useless, we expect extraction." (Tusokimi)

[Understood, transport will arrive in T-18 minutes.]

"Understood, over." (Tusokimi)

The other 3 members of the group observed the corpse totally skinned and could not avoid speaking.

"Captain, what the hell happened to the target...this is useless." (Amiya)

"You're such an idiot that you do not realize what was going on throwing buildings in his way ... that was the thing that did this that is not obvious!...Damn this month we will not get shit." (Inuka)

"I knew that a hunt close to home would not bring anything good." (Asaki)

"Be grateful that the one who did this did not stay to do the same to us..."(Tusokimi)
