Chapter 6 - Cornered

Maisy opened the door up more, allowing just enough room for her body to slide out into the gorgeous hallway. She slowly closed it behind her, making sure that it did not make too much noise. When she turned around from shutting the door, the tall man in front of her was halfway down the hallway. Maisy practically sprinted to catch up to him, she wondered why he was so fast? Or if he had been further away that what she thought.

As she traveled behind him, there was no exchange of conversation or even words. They just silently walked towards the end of the hallway. Finally, Maisy heard him mutter, "this manor has been here since the 1300's. It was built by the great Cain Warberter." As they followed down the long hallway, Maisy looked at the photographs and paintings on the walls. She noticed one man specifically who was on a large oil painting. As they went down, there were more paintings and black and white photographs of someone who looked extremely similar to him. Confused, maisy exclaimed; "The Warberter genes must be something else! This man almost looks identical to the man in the painting."

To her avail, she got no response. He merely chuckled in response and continued on with his words. "You are very lucky to be here young lady. Not anyone of...your type has been in our manor for decades." Maisy decided that she didn't really like the way he had worded that sentence, and she just gave him and odd look. Not wanting to further question the man, due to the fact that she had yet to get any answers from anyone. As they wandered down the hallway, they finally reached a large room. This seemed to be the main room.

There were three men sitting around a table and talking quite loudly. They seemed to be playing a board game of sorts, and were very into it. One of them was of taller stature and muscular. His curly hair just shaded his right eye. The other two next to him were also fit. They seemed to be twins, other than the fact that one had dark brown hair and the other had supposedly dyed his hair blonde. A few minutes passed by with Maisy standing awkwardly there, until the taller ones back straightened up and his head seemingly perked up. He turned around and Maisy couldn't help but noticed his dark orange eyes glaring right at her. It sent chills down her body, causing goosebumps.

Within ten seconds, she felt someone's had behind her, playing with her hair. A large hand had wrapped around her waist, as a deep voice echoed in her head. "Now, what exactly do we have here?"
