Its been two weeks since I woke up in this forest wearing strangely comfortable clothes and I've managed to slay two shadow foxes.
From those two battles I've realized some things about this world and myself.
1. Magical creatures rely on their ability to generate magic scripts around the attacking body part in order to fight with magic attacks.
2. The amount of magic scripts a magical creature can produce determines it's strength.
3. I, on the other hand, have no need to produce a magic script to attack. Therefore, my attacks are hard to recognize.
4. At my current strength, I can handle magical creatures with up to two magic scripts.
I discovered the point about differentiating between magical creature strengths from my fights with the shadow foxes. For the first fight, the shadow fox only displayed a single magic script around its paws when it attacked. While the second shadow fox had a second magic script appear around it's muzzle before it spat out a dark flame.
Obviously the second fight was harder than the first one, but after realizing that there was no special meaning to the dark flame.
Fighting the second shadow fox became easier and I relied more on my water magic to counter the dark flame.
Today I've decided to take a break from all combat and solely work on my magic. Since my greatest advantage in combat is my ability to generate magic without the use of magic scripts, I need to be able to detect other magical creatures before they notice me so I can formulate a plan to counteract them. I don't know anything about the creatures from this world. Which means being extra cautious about my surroundings.
First using my wind magic, I send a gentle breeze radiating outward from where I'm standing. The breeze is gentle enough that when it passes through the surrounding magical fauna that they only slightly tremble. From what I can feel in this breeze is everything it comes into contact with but nothing more. If there's something hidden behind a tree and my breeze doesn't come into contact with it I have no clue it's there. So not the best method but it's a start.
Next is earth magic, I once heard that everything that comes into contact with the ground sends out micro vibrations through out the surface upon contact. With the help of my earth magic, maybe I could sense these micro vibrations as they occur.
Walking until I find some moving targets, a small group of pink moles that have rabbit ears, tail and hind legs. I stand far enough away that the pink mole rabbits won't detect my presence, hopefully.
Placing my hands flat on the ground, I communicate to the earth asking it show me the micro vibrations caused by the pink mole rabbits.
Suddenly my vision turns into a grey scale and white pulses that ripple away from the pink mole rabbits can be seen. Smaller, almost invisible white pulses come out of the trunks of the trees at ground level. The grains of dirt that are pushed my a breeze passing through the area make white pulses as they come into contact with the solid ground.
All of this happened in mere seconds before my vision snapped back to normal and I once again see the vibrant colours of the magical forest.
