He Xiyan looked at her phone and shook her head in embarrassment. She used to have a family but she had been kicked out of the house.
She would be able to be discharged from the hospital after three days on an IV drip. It wasn't a serious illness, so she didn't mind suffering through the pain herself.
She had already been through so much that these three days were nothing to her.
Ms. Li sighed and took He Xiyan's phone back and refrained from saying anything.
"Why don't you drink some soup? Be careful, it's hot," Ms. Li said as she opened the box and scooped up a bowl of soup for He Xiyan.
He Xiyan gingerly took the bowl from her. Her left hand was still connected to the drip, so she could only hold the bowl with one hand.
She drank very slowly but tried her best to finish the soup. She didn't know that a man had rushed over to the nursing desk near her ward, his face a picture of worry.
