Gao Daiwei was the daughter of Director Gao and his late wife. His late wife passed away while giving birth to her, so Gao Daiwei was sent to live with her grandpa and grandma after she was born.
When Gao Daiwei was eight months old, Director Gao remarried to a woman who was the daughter of the current Jincheng Development Bureau's Director. They subsequently had two daughters, and so Gao Daiwei was forgotten by Director Gao.
Later, Director Gao got promoted to his current position as Haicheng's Development Bureau Chief. After his parents passed away one after the other, he had no choice but to send for the adolescent Gao Daiwei… who was only 16 years of age at the time, to live with him in Haicheng.
But having grown up in different environments from her two step-sisters, Gao Daiwei didn't get along with them and suffered severe bullying. However, Director Gao was biased towards his two young daughters and chose to turn a blind eye to that.
