"Father, I have hired one of the best event management companies for this. With only three days to spare, all the invitations have been sent out," informed Lu Jinhai, just to get backfired by his father, elder Lu.
"So you have already planned everything, huh? Then, what was the point in asking my opinion? Made me drain my energy, you punk!" Elder Lu Exclaimed.
"Hmmm...that....umm".
Lu Jinhai knew his father very well. He liked that his father bickered as if contributed to the playful atmosphere of the family. That's why he had done it on purpose.
To change the topic, Zhao Shuang looked at her elder son and asked, "Where is Lu Qiang? I am missing my dear grandson. When will he come back?"
As she mentioned Lu Qiang's name, the atmosphere got back to normal, and everyone asked after him.
"Mother, he is in America regarding business. He will leave New York tomorrow evening and will be back by the next morning," the elder daughter-in-law, Ning Jiahui replied.
Ning Jiahui, the wife of the first son, Lu Jinhai and the elder daughter-in-law of the Lu Family. A pretty, elegant and royal looking lady who was a perfect match to her handsome and stylish husband.
Grandma Zhao Shuang sighed apologetically and said, "That child! Ever since he took the responsibility of the Lu Corporation in his hands, he has never disappointed us. In all these years, he has worked hard without rest to take the business ahead."
Lu Qiang was Lu Jinhai's elder son. Five years ago, when Lu Jinhai had involved in an accident and was in a severe condition, Lu Qiang was only eighteen years old. He took all the responsibility of the company and family in his hand and worked hard to cross the boundaries of success.
Giving a killer gaze to his elder son, Lu Jinhai, elder Lu exclaimed, "You are a heartless man. How can you make your son work like a bull? I am afraid that it will affect his health and vitality. What will happen to my dream of having great-grandchildren, you irresponsible brat?"
Lu Jinhai had a ghost of a smile on his face. "Father, I am responsible. That's why I could give you two grandsons and one granddaughter."
Elder Lu frowned. "What's so great about it? Everyone does that. You just handle your Lu Corporation and give my grandson a little rest." He continued to mumble in a low voice, "Useless Chairman of the Lu Corporation!" But everyone heard it.
Lu Jinhai was the chairman of Lu Corporation, one of the richest and influential organizations in the country which resulted from his thirty years of hard work.
The Lu family was from a small town, far away from the capital. Lu Jinhai's ancestors looked after that town and small villages around them from generations as head of the town. Every generation contributed to the development and the wellbeing of the families there, that's why everyone respected the Lu clan.
Lu Jinhai's dreams to do something extraordinary in life brought the whole family to the city. He started from the small business of traditional Chinese arts and crafts as he realized its importance and established a small company.
The tricky part was when he moved to the capital. He had to face difficulties like mischievous people and competitors. Though he was from town, he was fast to distinguish between friends and foes. He knew how to handle those people because he had a cunning side, too. If he was to check his IQ at that time, it definitely would be the higher side of the three-digit scale.
Soon, he got success and in the next few years; he expanded his business in different sectors. He married his childhood friend and distant cousin, Ning Jiahui, who supported him through thick and thin in his journey to fulfill his dreams. She was a loving and caring woman loved by her in-laws.
Hearing the word 'great-grandchildren', something clicked in Su Hui's mind.
Su Hui, the wife of second son Lu Chen and the second daughter-in-law of the Lu Family, was sitting beside her husband. Lu Chen. A pretty, prideful and a straightforward woman, whose words could offend others.
"Exactly, father. As an aunt, I am worried about Lu Qiang, too. He should take some rest and look after his health."
Elder Lu agreed to what Su Hui said, so she continued.
"His two elder cousins are there to share his responsibilities in the company and don't worry about great-grandchildren. Other than Lu Qiang, you have two more grandsons who can grant your wish," Su Hui said with a big smile on her face.
Elder Lu looked at her with an annoyed expression.
"Two more grandsons? Are you talking about your sons? The one who got married five years ago because of an adrenaline rush in his body but still doesn't want to have a child, and the other one who is always busy in his world, drinking alcohol, roaming around with his useless friends and spending the hard-earned money of the family?"
Elder Lu's face turned red with anger as he showed how displeased he was with Su Hui's sons.
Hearing these harsh words, Su Hui's face fell and the atmosphere in the living room became silent. Nobody dared to utter a single word.
