Chapter 85 – Good Morning, Brim
Inside the hangar, Joan received a similar notification from the Fleet Admiral Gabriel Lobmak. She frowned as she read the messages.
.
[Stop causing troubles for your father and the gov. We have a situation at hand.
A few hours ago, we received an urgent report that Colonel Crimson Krastel has died in his capsule.
The cause of his death relates to the game. His soul has been forcefully extracted because of a new hydra, and he is now a permanent resident.
Two more bad news, that very responsible hydra is coming to your city, and the connection gate has automatically blockaded the exit point for an unknown reason. That means all players and agents won't be able to log out for the time being until I can reopen the gate.
Work with Uriel Mia and get rid of that hydra. Let him test the new prototype mech that we built for our GG team. Since he's their counterpart, so he should be able to handle a bit of pressure in the cockpit.
I'll warn you again. We are soldiers, not a vengeful spirit. Uriel Mia is currently working for us even though he is still with his grandmother. Since the higher-ups are waiting for his blood sample delivery, we have to ensure his well-being. Your current actions are against the interest of MWG.
Don't dwell into the past, or I'll sack you myself. Remember, I don't need your father's authority to remove you.]
.
Joan clenched her fists as she was helpless against this fleet admiral.
To Joan, Gabriel Lobmak was more dangerous than Uriel Min. As he possessed an authority that could dismiss her father from the army despite his ranks, Joan was wary of him.
"ARGH!! Damn both of you! You bunch with archangel's names are annoying!"
Joan paced back and forth while she gazed at her VIP11 spy CCTV monitor, which was a secret privilege that few military personals had. With this feature, she could see every action that Mia was doing.
With a flick of fingers, Joan could move this spy monitor around. More actions, such as zoom-in, zoom-out, stalking mode, find a person, or change the camera angle, were also available in this feature. With the secret eye, Joan could see any player in this world.
On her map screen, the screen displayed the current situation on the B7 floor, which Mia was stealing the hidden stashes of this city's crooked officials at the moment. It appeared that he had somehow unlocked the VIP inventory feature.
'After this incident, that old geezer will probably have a heart attack.'
Joan turned to her subordinate soldiers, who were also agents from the real world as well.
"Change of plans. A hydra is about to siege the city, and it's our golden chance to harvest red gels and a hydra core. Prepare the prototype and my mech!"
Everyone stared at Joan in shock as none of them had heard about this hydra invasion news yet.
"But ma'am. A mutant is on the loose."
"Once a hydra gets into this city, everybody here will die, including us! Get going, soldier! Know your priority!"
"YES, MA'AM!"
.

Amro, the hydra, is sieging Mafdet City. If this creature gets inside the wall, 50,000 people inside this city will be in peril!
As a trainee soldier, you are one of this city's reserve troops. Use your power to help them whatever you can, and protect the people of this city!
<
- Kill Amro, the hydra
<
- Unknown.

.
Dove stared at the quest menu with a frown. From his experience, all unknown rewards are either exceptionally OP or something useless. However, the chance for getting the former was higher than the latter.
'I should join them. There's nothing to lose here anyway.'
His log out button was disabled, so there was nothing else he could do, except going out and fight.
Besides, an event like this was hard to come by. He had to seize every opportunity he could get if he wanted to be a top player.
Thinking about the position of a top player, he had a complicated thought about this game.
Before the event, his level was following after Misha, who had reached level 100, which should have been their max level.
Just a moment ago, it displayed her level as 101 for a few minutes before her name disappeared from the rankings.
A lot of question popped up in Dove's mind about the ranking.
Did she change her class?
How did her level reach above 100?
How did she gain level so fast?
How did she change her race?
Dove wanted to send an inquiry to a game administrator or a game master, asking them how these could be possible. However, he did not have that luxurious time.
Like the previous event, a group of soldiers with a truck came.
"Get on the truck! Move! Move! Move!"
Pioneer King, Dove, and others were forced to get on the military vehicle again. At this point, every student began to doubt that a combat class was the right choice.
None of them enjoyed being in the military. They wanted to play the game for fun, not play to be ordered around.
Dove exhaled through his teeth.
'I'm starting to get envious of Misha. I don't like this Mafdet Faction. I need to find a way to switch side like her, but how will it affect the grades at school, I wonder?'
.
Meanwhile, Sebastian, who was flying above Mafdet City, smiled at the oncoming hydra.
'Come, boy. Come to me.'
As Sebastian was waiting for Amro, he chewed the red gel that he tossed into his mouth.
That was his fifth Amro's red gel.
By eating two gels, it would be enough for Amro to sense him, yet he continued eating them as if they were snacks.
'Come on. Show me what you've got!'
Sebastian slowly flew backward, arranging his flying angle so that Amro had to go through the city before it could reach him.
.
As for the center of attention, Mia was oblivious to the chaotic scenes above the ground.
In tedious, Mia opened each crate and shoved gold bars into his game screen one-by-one. He wished that he could move the items faster, but the inventory spaces were the issues.
The VIP inventory was a slot system which appeared as 20 empty squares icons. Each blank square could only house one item at a time, yet the same type of items could stack on top of the others.
Available slots had to be available before Mia could move gold bars into the inventory.
Secondly, large items, such as a crate, occupy multiple slots. In this case, a one-meter cubic crate would take four slots of inventory if Mia put one in there.
Also, the gold crates could not stack!
If Mia loaded crates into his inventory, he could only take five boxes at the maximum, which was only 500 gold bars.
However, if Mia were patient enough and put the gold bars in his inventory, it would take only one slot of the 20 as gold bars could stack as one item. As a result, he could store everything with this method!
*Mew* (Are you done?)
"Just a little more, Tama."
*Mrrr* (I sense Amro is getting near. Can you hurry?)
"I know! Help me then!"
*Mrrr* (More labor again.)
Mia turned around to glance at Brim. Then, he met his eyes with Tama's eyes on his chest.
'Once we get to the other side, we can trade these with many good fishes! Remember the tuna? Guess how many fishes we can buy with one gold bar. Obviously, it can't just buy only one fish.'
*Nom-Nom!?* (More fish!? Why didn't you say this before!? Let's go!)
Mia chuckled. Tama might be smart and cunning, but she could be easily motivated with food.
While both of them were at it, Brim sat down on the floor and concentrated on his recovery. Unfortunately, he lacked nutrition.
As Brim did not have a partner that could convert human's blood to restore his dead cells, he had to use jellies for his recovery.
"Umm, do you have a spare green gel or a yellow gel? I'll pay you back in double once we return to the base."
Mia touched his pocket, but he stopped.
"I'm not carrying those gels right now, but I have a red gel. Are you alright with it?"
"ACK! Please, miss. I will never have enough gel to pay you back! Heck, I've only eaten two red gels in my life!"
Mia also pondered. He also needed red gels to boost his status caps, especially in the late game in the future. Therefore, giving a red gel to Brim was not ideal.
Then, Mia recalled that there were items in the VIP shop.
When Gabriel Lobmak transferred Mia's money back to his account, he did not refund or take away his 300 diamonds.
Mia still had 300 free diamonds on him!
'Right, there was a gift box thingy and the medicine drink, right? Will those do?'
Mia checked the shop.
.

VIP2 Gift Box – Price 300 Diamonds.
Contain various items as the following;
- Ten first-aid kits
- Ten first-aid sprays
- Ten healing potions

.
VIP1 package was an utter rip-off. However, it might be useful for those who were short on supplies.
VIP2 package was what Mia needed. He could spend only 100 diamonds for one healing potion, but buying this pack was more worth it.
Mia pressed the VIP2 gift box, and all items were placed inside his inventory.
Mia took out a healing potion, which came in as a one-liter dark colored bottle. From first glance, Mia thought that it was a famous soft drink.
At the label, it merely described, "All purposes healing pot, period!"
It was a suspicious-looking medicine, no matter how Mia inspected it. But since he bought ten of these, testing it a bit on Brim might not hurt.
'It's a game item, so it should not be harmful to the players or the locals.'
Looking around, Mia could not find a container for this potion.
"Brim, open your mouth and raise your chin up."
Blinded and confused, Brim did it anyway.
"Like this?"
Mia unsealed the bottle and gently poured the potion into Brim's mouth. He only put a mouthful as a precaution.
Brim was surprised, but he drank the mouthful of potion anyway.
Soon, he felt the change within his body.
He regenerated back his lost eyes, and the injuries on his wrists and ankles recovered.
Within his right chest, something was growing.
"Eh!?"
Brim checked his body in shock. In the next second, tears rolled from his eyes.
*Mow?* (Eh? What?)
*Meow* (I thought I was already dead.)
*Mow Meow* (Oh, good morning Brim. I had a long sleep.)
"SAM!!"
