Chapter 1 - Rebirth

"Sack the Guild Leader! Sack the Guild Leader! Sack the Guild Leader!" A furious collection of voices resounded in the air as people gathered within a large, open area; surrounding a small platform. It was waves upon waves of them and they all were different. Every player wielded something, whether it be Mace, Spear, Lance, Sword, Daggers, Staffs.

"Yes! We shall sack the Leader! Bring him forth!" One of the men with a large two-handed axe on his back stepped forward and said. It seemed comical to see the size contrast of his frail body and the axe but no one dared to say such a thing simply because, they didn't have the strength to.

After he finished saying the words, the others grabbed an unkempt youth, his clothes ragged and face tattered and bruised. He was forced to sit in a kneeling position in front of the entire crowd as their eyes shone with bloodthirsty intent despite it though, he looked bitterly at three people.

"Xiaolian... Zhongyu... Lianji..... why?" He could only summarise his current emotions with these three words and he could hardly speak much. His voice was like a screech to their ears and hard to avoid, two of them had simply looked at him with disdain and pity but the other tensed up. That same person stepped forward with a wavering will, holding a small as he tried to force his tears back whilst saying,

"Moon Saber! You are accused of using the gu...guild for your own in...intent, murdering innocen...innocent players and np-npcs alike." He was choking up just by reading the crimes listed on the parchment in front of him. The others couldn't bare to let their audience see this sobbing mess of a Vice-Leader so hurriedly, they grabbed the parchment out of his hands and quickly recited it before they put a sword above his head.

"Any last words, Former Guild Leader?" The man who was in charge of his execution coldly said, his blade itching to taste the blood of prey as he purposely strained the words, 'Former'.

With no response, he quickly swung down his sword, clearly decapitating the man as the crowd jeered.

That man was Zhu Yun, the now ex-Guild Leader of Everless. He who used to be a God in the public's eyes fell to rock bottom. His guild that he spent so much time working on, those hours of his life he spent on it. He wasted so much time. Too much in fact.

He sacrificed his chance of getting a girlfriend, his chance of a good place in a good university, his chance of a good job! Just for this stupid game! And what was the end result, huh? Betrayal! His best friends, ones who risked blood, sweat and tears with him, stabbed him in his back with no leeway out.

What was he supposed to do now? Make a new account? That was even more time-consuming! It was already deep in the lore and no longer were monsters easy to kill, they were harder and more realistic and so were you in the game. He was too adapted to growing in his ability and skins! Not suddenly plummeting down to stick and stones!

He couldn't do anything right. He spent too much time. He abandoned his prospects, his parents, his life just for the game. What now could he do?

Zhu Yun started to take out all the alcohol in his fridge, warm or not and started to chug them down. Bottle by bottle, can by can and as he doused his regret in the alcohol he could feel himself slipping away into his happy space. He stumbled through the room and went out to the open. How long has it been since he went outside? Certainly long enough to think that fresh air was a commodity. He staggered his way on the streets, wallowing in his misery and that's when he saw a little girl, clutching onto her teddy bear in her hands, not noticing the truck speeding at her. (Morning Truck-kun! Here to help a depressed fellow again? Truck-kun: Yes, x) )

Though he had lost his mind, he still maintained his rationality as he sprinted through the streets. The child's mother who was on the phone looked up and saw the truck as well, screaming as the truck inched by her baby girl.

Zhu Yun let out a cry as he bursted with more speed, pushing the girl out of harm's way but in place, he took her spot. The last thing he remembered was a bunch of people gasping and screaming at him as he turned his head to look at his sides, seeing the intense blood loss coming from both sides. The girl was kneeling by him, crying whilst hugging him, saying,

"Don...don't worry mmm...mm-mister!" She tried offering the comfort of her cuddly and fluffy bear but he refused it as he smiled and ruffled her hair before uttering his last words,

"Be careful next time..." And at that point, everything became a white, blurry mess as he closed his eyes, drifting into an eternal slumber. The sounds coming from the people were droned out by white noise as he suddenly jolted awake...

"Wh...what the fuck? I'm....I'm not d...dead?"
