When I open my eyes again, I see a light at the end of a tunnel. Through it, I hear the screams of a woman and the sound of footsteps. A sudden force pushes me towards the opening, as if telling me it's time to leave. I realize what is happening, I'm being born, and if that's not enough, I'm fully conscious while it happens. Great, just what I wanted, the knowledge of what exactly went on during my birth. The screams grow louder as I get closer and closer. And finally I'm out, being held by what appears to be a doctor, his ears are pointed and his eyes are the color of coal. A High Elf, a worried one at that. As he hands me to a nurse, I figure out what is going on, they need to hear me cry. Meaning someone's gonna hit me. Heh, over my dead body, I'm over 10,000 years old, nobody's spanking me.
(Doctor's Thoughts)
Well, the Queens child is born but he doesn't seem to be alive, he isn't crying. I'll hand him off to the head nurse to see if we can't get him stimulated. Hmm, that's strange, a different source of mana? Is it the child?
(3rd Person)
Everyone in the room detects a disturbance in the room's mana. All of a sudden a giant golden fist materializes and punches the doctor through the wall. While it isn't fatal, not a single person isn't surprised.
(Lugh POV)
I love Aura Magic, it's the best for these kinds of things. Although, I think I might have to explain, well maybe they'll just think that it was instinctual. I should just cry out, it might bring some peace of mind to my mother.
"AUGH! WAHHHH!"
God, this is so embarrassing, it's like your pants falling down in the middle of a crowd. These people better fucking appreciate this shit. Oh man, I might actually cry at this rate.
(3rd Person)
While Lugh was having his new-life crisis, the other people in the room snapped back to reality. The nurse brings the crying baby to his mother and holding him tight she begins cradling the boy.
"There, there. Mommy's got you, I've waited so long to meet you, now that you're in my hands, I'll never let go." Like a bell, her voice rings out.
(Lugh POV)
Her voice is so soothing, it's like she's a lullaby given form. I feel so exhausted, maybe I shouldn't have used that spell as soon as 2 minutes old. I hope she doesn't mind if I sleep, just for a little while. Ah, so soft.
(Back to 3rd)
As soon as Lugh fell asleep, a mountain-like man barrels into the room, stepping on the unconscious doctor in the process. He rushes up to his wife, the High Elf Queen, with worry plastered on his face. His short, curly hair is jet black, with horns the same color, his eyes are golden and deep. He's diametrically opposed to his wife who has beautiful silver hair, and soulful emerald eyes. His face is angular and chiseled while hers is soft and elegant. It's as if the adage "Opposites attract" rang true with this couple.
"Are you and the child fine? As soon as I heard the crash, I rushed back from the market. I'll kill whoever dares harm my family!" His voice bellows, sonorous, it echoes through the building.
"I'm fine, and so is he, our child just had a reaction when the doctor and nurse were going to stimulate him. He's going to be an unrivaled mage, someday." These words instantly cool the man's fire.
"You said a reaction? As in he caused this? HA HA HA! I knew it, my spawn is just like me. A strong man to be sure." The man's laughter seems to resound for miles. Pride drips within his words and a massive grin hangs on his face.
"Durge"
"Yes, Allisia?"
"He needs a name, and it was your job to come up with one. You didn't forget did you?" The words come out soft, and she has a smile, but not the happy kind.
"OF COURSE, I CA...me up with a name, it's just that I wanted you to approve it first!" His words come with strength but slowly weaken towards the end with a brief burst to finish. His forehead is slightly dripping sweat and his neck is tingling.
"So?"
"Uhm, the name is from an old friend of mine, an ancient warrior. It's Lugh, do you think it fits?"
"An old Fey word for Light? I think it fits well, since he's our little beacon of hope." She looked down and gently smiled at the bundle in her arms.
(Lugh POV)
I woke up in the middle of the night, I think, it's hard to tell when there are no windows nearby, but the pitch blackness of this room gives me this idea. Well, at least I'm comfortable, this crib is probably the closest I've ever been to luxury. This fabric is like silk, wool, and cotton all in one package. But enough resting, it's time to explore. Using a bit of Aura Magic, I materialize a ladder to escape my confines. The floor appears to be wood, and the walls are stone, am I in a palace? Is one or both of my parents royalty? Hey [Archive], are you there?
Where am I?
Really? Well that answers two questions, Can you tell me who my parents are?
Wow are these some titles, I mean one is just absolutely narcissistic and the other is just weird. Who wants to be known as the god of a single mountain?
Okay that's slightly cooler, I think, I mean nobody would fuck with a guy that just makes mountains. Of course, nobody in their right mind would fuck with a dragon either. It's probably better that he stays in Human form, I'm guessing nobody wants mountains appearing in the middle of a city. There are most likely servants around here somewhere, I should check using Aura.
(3rd POV)
If anyone were to see Lugh's eyes they'd notice that they changed from their normal red to golden with reptilian slits. Back in Lugh's room, he didn't notice that his crib was at the foot of a giant bed, in which his parents were sleeping. His father, Durge, stirs awake deciding to check on his son.
(Lugh POV)
There are a few, not many, I assume that they are the cleaning crew. Wait, one has a stronger Aura than the others, he's a guard.
"AAAAAHHH!!! WHERE IS MY SON! WHO DARES STEAL FROM THE MIGHTY DURGE!"
Uh-oh, I've been discovered, I think that's Mission Failure. I'd better head back, before he upturns this entire city. That was too quick, and I was trying to be a quiet as possible, did he wake up on his own? What terrifying paternal instincts!
(3rd Person POV)
As Lugh crawls back to the bedroom, guards all over the palace are scrambling about, searching for any clues as to his whereabouts. Soft weeping can be heard coming from the Queen's quarters, as she mourns for her lost newborn. Lugh quietly makes his way inside, and as he hears his mother's grief, his heart fills with guilt. He should be playing the part of their child, make them happy, not burden them with anguish. His father is the first to notice him and instantly he's picked up and embraced. The crying stops and a new pair of arms grab hold of Lugh. He's plunged within the depths of his mother's ample bosom, and is assaulted with a furious grip.
(Lugh POV)
Too...Tight. I think my mother might love me too much for my own sake. Still, I deserve this, I'll take this hug as a punishment for my actions. This is my second chance at life, I going to make the most of it and leave my mark on this world.
