Chapter 1 - A Small Town Girl

Her kiss was soft and warm, a summer breeze on a spring day. her hair like sunflowers, the yellow bright and golden against her skin. Her touch like butterfly kisses, fleeting and scarce. Her eyes glowed blue under the summer sky. Her laugh graced my ears, comforting and pure. I pulled her into my arms, her eyes widening in surprise as my lips met hers, softening and warming as I kissed her, not pulling away.

The kiss felt like forever, her hands entwined with my hair, secure around my neck. She smelled like sunscreen and flowers, she tasted like salt. Our existence engrained within my brain, down to the sand beneath our feet. Her strong arms light golden and glowing from the sunset, the straps of her dress shifting in the shadows. Her closed eyes, soft and accepting, comfortable.

And then I woke up. I stared dazedly at my wall, still tasting her lips as I licked mine. What the heck was that?

Recently, I've been having dreams of this girl in various situations, and places, and sometimes all I could remember was a touch or a taste. Today I remembered her.

I didn't know the girl in my dreams, but whenever I met her, it seemed so comfortable. I looked down at my phone, glancing at the time. 6:00. I had to get ready for school.

....

I biked down the road to Seaport's highschool, a small town with little to do. Most of the kids hung around the theater as the beach was never in the right condition to go, and was too rocky. I personally enjoyed the lack of people, and went there at night so nobody would see me.

I pulled into the bike rack and locked my bike, the sun shining bright on my hair, summer not yet over. I walked into class, greeting the people around me and smiling as I walked to my seat, pulling out my notebooks and waiting for the bell to ring.

"Hello class! Welcome to the 3rd week of school. We have a transfer student from Australia joining us today, please give her a warm welcome!"

When she walked in, no one could take their eyes off of her. She was very attractive, and she knew how to dress, her skirt showing off her tan legs, Her smile and posture showing off her cheery demeanor. When she looked around the room waving and smiling, I knew her. She was quite literally the girl from my dreams. How the hell? I picked myself and closed my eyes. This is probably just a coincidence. I doubt anything will actually come from this.

I watched as the teacher introduced her, and her smile. I looked down at my notebook and focused. Act normal, you don't even know her. It was true. I never talked to the girl in my dreams, we just... cough cough. I took a deep breath and looked back over. From now on, these dreams are banned. I will no longer enjoy them.

The teacher continued on with class as I agonized, and came to my solution. I will not relate her to the girl from my dreams, as those dreams are too unreliable. It is best to focus on school. Yes. Nothing else.

I looked over at my friend Hannah, who was sitting close to the new girl and saw her eying her, a smile on her face. I shuddered. She was definitely gonna ask to help her out. Me and Hannah have been friends forever, and have been through thick and thin. She was smarter than me and was more active in the school, I on the other hand focused on sports and my own free time. We were both in high classes, Hannah just excelled more, and looked out for colleges more, building her application with volunteer hours, and clubs. We still spent time together, and I knew Hannah's habits, such as when she wants to introduce herself, and build her reputation in others' eyes.

I took another deep breath. So what if I had plenty of dreams? They were kind of hazy, and not written in my diary. She is a stranger. A stranger. I'll be fine.
