Chapter 6 - Quiet

I pull myself out of bed, and from there drudge to the closet, putting on a red short-sleeved buttondown and some jeans. I pull on some jeans, and my black boots before putting my hair in pigtails and putting on my makeup. I don't bother with breakfast, I have no appetite after last night's revelation.

I go straight to the door, grabbing my helmet on the way. I walk to school in silence at a pace much slower than I'd like, walking by streetlights as the sun barely rises.

I get to class quickly and sit in my usual spot, which now has a working chair again, thankfully. I wait for class to start. It does, and Jacket doesn't come in for another twenty minutes. He approaches me again, and I get up and move to the empty spot across the room. I don't want any confrontations today, it takes too much energy.

I don't talk to Suit, either when he tries in eighth period, I simply move farther from him and let him be flocked by girls. Just like I ignore them, I ignore my staring peers, wondering what the hell happened to me.

I go home as soon as school gets out, hopping on my Harley, which is, thankfully, undamaged from its night in the open air on public property. I ride home slowly, not having the will to speed after the thrill from last night. I just can't. I want nothing to do with them, and that includes memories.

I park and go down to the basement immediately. It's pure concrete, twice the size of the actual house, too. And filled with all sort of cool things. Exercise equipment, training tools, weapons, and a boxing ring. I walk over to the punching back and strap on the gloves. Jab, jab, left. Jab, jab, right. I repeat over and over and over again until long after breaking a sweat. I get bored, my mind now blank, and go upstairs to watch stupid mind-numbing cartoons and eat spaghetti. Damn the Italians for making such good food, but bless them for it, too.

My plan for this year is to stay quiet and keep a low profile. That can't be too hard. I mean, they're gang leaders, they'll forget all about me soon.
