Chapter 10 - Chapter 10: The First Real Battle

At the entrance of the poaching gang's headquarters in the city, a van was quietly parked. Inside, five people were preparing their gear, their expressions grim, creating a tense and oppressive atmosphere in the cramped space.

Hannah, skilled with throwing knives and firearms, wasn't great at hand-to-hand combat, as women generally lacked physical strength, making it a hard-to-overcome disadvantage. Thus, she had to rely on weapons.

Mess, on the other hand, was the brute force type. Though slow, his punches were extraordinarily powerful.

Mustafa was a master of legwork, his speed swift as the wind, and his kicks like a dragon's strike.

As for Jack, he was the balanced type—jack of all trades, master of none, but with no obvious weaknesses.

And Qin Ming? Well, Qin Ming had a gun.

Tucking her throwing knives into her belt, Hannah nodded firmly to the group and spoke in a serious tone. "Remember, show no mercy! These guys are all desperate criminals, and many have been genetically modified with dinosaur DNA. If you don't want to die, strike decisively!"

With that, Hannah pulled open the van door and charged out, with Jack and the others following closely behind, each moving faster than the last.

Compared to them, Qin Ming was left in an awkward position.

He realized that even Mess, the slowest of the group, could run faster than him, despite Qin Ming being in the beginner's protection period, where all his attributes were doubled.

And yet, he still couldn't keep up with the slowest one? How terrifying were these protagonists' stats?!

If they were this fast, what kind of monster would the Act 1 boss, Vise-Teschion, be?

Realizing the situation was far worse than expected, Qin Ming's face darkened as he gritted his teeth and sprinted to catch up.

With a flying knee strike, Hannah shattered the door's reinforced glass. Landing gracefully, she threw two knives, each hitting a target in the throat. The two poachers stumbled backward, choking.

The others quickly spread out, expertly engaging the enemies with their impressive combat skills.

As for Qin Ming…

"Waaaaah!" he screamed.

A poacher wearing light boxing gloves charged at Qin Ming with lightning speed, his fists clenched tightly.

Seeing him rush straight in, Qin Ming put on a brief display of shadow boxing, trying to throw the man off.

But when the poacher closed the distance, Qin Ming promptly stood up straight, drew his revolver, and fired.

With a flash of gunfire, the poacher, who had been charging in, was sent flying backward the same way he had come.

One shot from Qin Ming's upgraded blue-grade revolver was more than enough to take down the ordinary thug.

After dispatching his foe, Qin Ming quickly reloaded, cocking the hammer as he fired, each shot landing with precision.

As the rhythmic sound of gunfire echoed, several more poachers collapsed in rapid succession.

Although Qin Ming wasn't a sharpshooter, he had watched enough movies to know the trick of letting the enemy get close before shooting. From ten meters away, he might have missed, but at five meters, there was no way he could miss every shot!

With the revolver's firing speed, he could shoot six bullets in quick succession, riddling his target with holes.

Even if he missed, the sheer volume of fire would still kill them.

Thanks to his revolver, Qin Ming advanced rapidly. And with the extra bullets he had purchased earlier, his firepower seemed unstoppable.

But the good times didn't last long. Just as Qin Ming was about to unleash even more carnage, a thunderous set of footsteps approached.

Suddenly, a massive, fat man charged toward him like a tank, shoving aside the smaller poachers in his path.

Despite his rotund shape, the fat man's body was packed with muscle. As he ran, the muscles on his arms bulged alarmingly.

This was one of the poaching gang's mid-level members—an elite enemy—the Fat Man!

Seeing the behemoth barreling toward him, Qin Ming panicked and aimed his revolver, firing a volley of shots.

The bullets slammed into the Fat Man, causing his body to tremble violently, blood spurting from the holes torn in his flesh. His steps faltered.

Stumbling a few more feet, the Fat Man finally collapsed to the ground, sliding to a stop at Qin Ming's feet.

Without hesitation, Qin Ming reloaded his revolver and fired one last shot into the back of the man's head.

Bang!

Blood splattered as the Fat Man's skull shattered.

Satisfied with his kill, Qin Ming crouched down to loot the body, then resumed shooting the remaining enemies.

As he scanned the battlefield, he noticed that Hannah and the others had spread out, advancing further into the building.

Hannah, the fastest, delivered a flying kick to another Fat Man, sending him sprawling. As she did, she shouted, "Spread out! Regroup at the destination!"

With that, she grabbed the edge of a window and, with a burst of strength, flipped herself onto the second floor.

Watching this, Qin Ming rolled his eyes and muttered, "Spread out? Why do all you protagonist groups act like you've been trained in horror movies? You've gotta be kidding me…"

Before he could finish his sentence, the sound of wind whistling above caught his attention.

Looking up, Qin Ming saw a massive fat man leaping down from the second-floor stairs, his enormous rear end aimed directly at him!

The sheer force of his descent created visible air currents, clearly indicating he had activated a skill.

Panicked, Qin Ming fired several shots at the falling figure.

But the Fat Man ignored the attacks. His D-grade skill provided temporary damage immunity, allowing him to disregard the incoming bullets.

However, the Fat Man had underestimated the power of Qin Ming's blue-grade revolver. After three shots, the skill's defense failed, and three gaping wounds appeared on the Fat Man's backside.

The last bullet hit dead center, causing the Fat Man to scream in agony as his body twisted midair and crashed to the ground.

Before the Fat Man could even recover, Qin Ming calmly walked over and fired three more shots, finishing him off.

"You thought you could sit on me?! Next time, I'm upgrading to a spear and letting you sit to your heart's content!"
